Hello!

Post videos of epic concerts, that you have been to or have seen videos off!
Preferably with some good nostalgia. Or what the hell, just post flawless performances!

I'll start with 1974´s California Jam headliner Black Sabbath

I realised that a lot of TLers like metal and techno, but give this one a try.

Tommy Emmanuel - Steve Vai said that Tommy is the best guitarist

PM me if you'd like more :D

liosama, I agree with your taste in music
Please send me a PM of any song you like that I most probably never heard of! I am looking for people to chat about writing and producing music | https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=noD-bsOcxuU |

I'm sorry I can't think of anything nostalgic since I haven't lived long enough to experience such things. I've only been to like 5 concerts in my life, and they were all instrumental shit.

Sia on Letterman

David Brubeck

Jaurim:
(This aint the best version I've seen of this song but I cant find the one I'm after, she is wearing a red/white skirt)

More Jaurim

Fucking most talented group in Korea.

Julian Bream This is fucking epic

Explosions in the Sky came to detroit few years back. That concert was amazing. The crowd wasn't really going crazy but you don't really go crazy at an EitS concert. Everyone in the crowd was high and just absolutely starstruck by how amazing the live performance was. It was mind blowing.

Deadmau5 came to detroit. His opener was 2 hours. Deadmau5 himself played from like 10 to 3:30. Would've been better if the guy to girl ratio wasn't 20:1 but I still ended up having a great time.
I don't have mono anymore. Woooo!

I dont really like Limb Bizkit but they was part of the show and its the only video of the show I found .
Sanitarium Tour - Montrea - Parc Jean-Drapeau
Feature: Linkin Park - Limb Bizkit - MEtallica - Deftones - Mudvayne

I went to a lot more great tour but no video

Best show IMO:
Rock In Rio - Iron Maiden

Here I was, thinking that all Korean music was the plastic type you see in Roffles' stream, and you posted that. I'm absolutely floored, and glad to know there is real music in Korea. Thanks for posting!

The first time I ever saw or heard Iron Maiden was in 2005 at Ozzfest in California.

That also happened to be the show where Sharon Osbourne gave people in the audience eggs to throw at Bruce Dickinson.

(:

Other notable concerts I've been to...Tool in their 10,000 Days tour (fucking amazing), and Dream Theater and Opeth at the inaugural Progressive Nation tour...and there are a bunch of other ones I've loved, but can't be bothered to remember at the moment.

Not really nostalgic, since this was only a few years ago, but NIN's Lights in the Sky tour was pretty awesome. The video of the concert was pieced together using mostly stuff recorded by fans.

Best concert ever was Reel Big Fish
Sadly only shitty mobile phone vids from the concerts I have been to so here's a vid from their live DVD.

Second best concert experience was the Reconstruction Festival in like 2003 with Thrice, Alkaline Trio, Rancid and Lagwagon. Lagwagon were the headliner and when they started to play the crowd went crazy and rushed the stage. Security was totally outnumbered and I was standing like 1 meter away from the bass player but Lagwagon just continued playing like it was nothing. But I'm gonna post a Rancid live video since I like them more(again not from the concert i have been too )

Third best has to be T-Mobile Extreme Playgrounds, which basically is a whole day of Wakeboard + BMX + concerts. 2009 had The International Noise Conspiracy(they sucked hardcore live), Mad Caddies(yay ska!) and Rise Against.

Atlas I'm absolutely jealous you got to see Deadmau5 in concert! I can't wait to see him @ Coachella, but it looks like the vibe there was fantastic

I saw Between the Buried and Me a month or so ago, and it was mind blowing.

They closed their set with Swim to the Moon (~17 min song) and encored with White Walls (~11 min)

Played almost all of their new CD, and a few old ones from Colors/Alaska and even The Silent Circus

And it all sounded exactly like the album, which is ridiculous.

Saw Bassnectar live a couple weeks ago and it was a great show too

Actually the record for the biggest audience ever is 3.5 Million in Copacabana Beach, Rio de Janeiro with Rod Stewart playing.

While we are on the subject of huge crowds, Monsters of Rock 91 Moscow.

There are much more great performances from that concert these were just the first I found on the tube.

I went to a Tommy Emmanuel concert in Sydney and fuck he was so good. Every single, and I mean it when I say this, every single rendition he does of classical gas is different every time, and they are all good. I embarrassed the shit out of myself there too.

At the concert he took a break and was just talking to everyone and he was like "If there's one thing I'd like to thank for spreading around my popularity, it's the internet and youtube" then I go "woo!!!" and everyone totally ignores me, no fake laughs, no claps, it was as if I didn't exist. (Yet if he says "I was born in Adelaide" and someone goes "woo" everyone laughs... what the fuck is wrong with society!!) Then he continued to talk and talked about how everyone had heard him (in sweeden or some euro country) all through youtube.

Fucking most embarrassing moment in my life.

You can't go wrong with portishead either, t his song fucking owns live. Any other similar group would choke it live.

And yeah to the guys that love Jaurim, I was thinking the exact same thing as you when I found out about them. They are perfect, the singar Yunah is so comfortable on stage and so confident, her personality is so bright and real.

and <3 Steve Vai

This is also sick, I can't find much of their other stuff >_<

I got tears in my eyes every time I watch this...

And of course, this post would mean nothing without the best rock band that ever existed.

Enough for now.

Edit:
Forgot about the concert that has seared my mind with white hot flame!

I saw that during Heineken Open'er festival, not in Glastonbury but it was roughly the same. Lasers and clowns fucking everywhere...

I've seen faitless a few times and they are completely incredible live, like insane performance - And i have never listened to a faithless song on purpose before or after the concerts.

Queen is probably the band i regret most that i will never get to see live. the live aid concert posted above should be reason enough.

A personal favorite of mine - these guys have some very very nice concerts (Trombone guys is awesome :D). The only currently active band i would travel far to see.

Dude I've seen them, and they actually opened with Welcome to Bangkok at that show, and it was absolute madness. I loved every bit of that show, they are a must see

I love how this thread isn't filled to the brim with trash like most of the other music-related threads. A lot of the stuff posted on here is quite reasonable.

Aww .. But at least you watched him live before! Anyways any real musician is sure to play different renditions of their song in live concerts

Hiromi's Sonicbloom - not jpop/rock but some fast, modern jazz. I daresay she almost equals Tommy in terms of 'feeling it'

Tommy was supposed to play Classical Gas but he plays short snippets of everything (including an imitation of Godfather), BUT classical gas, with a string quartet wating impatiently(?) for him. The video description lists the 21 songs he was playing that wasn't classical gas. At one point he was screaming Beat it, beat it!

Rodrigo y Gabriela - Gab uses the guitar for rhythm and percussion

Not really a concert, (it's live) but definitely astonishing for me to find out that this type of music is sort of ubiquitous in Paris, based on the numerous youtube related videos. This is my pick. Watch out for the bassist spinning the double bass haha

I apologize in advance for the shitty quality.

I feel it would be disingenuous to post a show I haven't actually physically attended. That said, Dustin Kensrue, of Thrice fame, doing a cover of Bruce Springsteen's "State Trooper":

He did two shows that night, this was recorded at the 2nd show, and I attended the first. The venue, "The Silent Movie Theatre" in Hollywood, CA was this tiny place that couldn't have had more than 50 or 60 of us in the room, giving the whole show a very personal touch. Dustin is really amazing, there isn't anything he can't sing without sounding fucking incredible.

Best performance ever. God I wish I was old enough to watch queen live when Freddie Mercury was still alive.

This is actually way better than the album version imo. But then again at the time they didn't overproduce songs to make them sound better than they do so album versions were just like good live versions without the crowd and with different acoustics.

This was an incredibly talented (both vocals and instruments) Italian group in the late '90 early '00.
Their name is Quintorigo, they were able to perform rock, jazz, pop, only using sax, violin, cello and contrabass. They're still active but the lead singer John De Leo left the group some years ago.

These are two audio recordings I personally made in 1999 when they came in concert to my city.

This is a cover of Jimi Hendrix's Purple Haze

Here instead is a live concert in Rome with a cover of Deep Purple.

I love Spain. A group of my classmates covered it really well in a concert a couple of days ago.

Not nostalgic at all but Muse is really great live.

I bought the HAARP DVD after seeing that video on youtube. They're really great live.

Tommy Emmanuel - Steve Vai said that Tommy is the best guitarist

PM me if you'd like more :D

liosama, I agree with your taste in music

YES!
Tommy Emmanuel is the best on stage guitarist ever. I have not had the privilege to see him live. Despite the fact that he is simply playing a single guitar, occasionally with voice with it, or maybe with a guest performers, it is such an entertaining show. Best guitarist on stage, ever.

And I always found this one quite entertaining.
