I think Bolt even says somewhere that a lot of the countries that have great athletes benefitted from having just the best slaves come over from Africa back in the day (biggest/strongest slaves = most type II fibers = better sprinting/power athletics).
Here I believe (4:40ish talks about slavery): http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/athletics/7998643.stm
Anyway, Bolt's a BEAST. I hope he breaks the 200m WR, and I'm looking forward to see what he can do in the 400m. As far as I know no one has ever held all 4 records at once especially since 400m is drastically different then 100/200m. Michael Johnson was a freak to win 200/400 at the same time, but even he wasn't "elite" with 100m.
I really hope he's clean though. He's just what Track and Field athletics needs right now to revitalize their program

Well I have never seen any track pundit say that the sport have a doping problem while they say it in cross country skiing and cycling and those sports are waaaay cleaner than track and field. During the 07 tour there were more track atheletes caught for doping than cyclist, even tho they did not have any big competitions at the same time.

EDIT:Apparently bolts "trainng buddy" Daniel Bailey has been cought for some unknown substance. Before the world championship Yohan Blake got cought, both of these guys have the same coach as Bolt. Trying to find an english source.

Thats less than 1 second per 10m! wth ... impressiv

Bolt is a beast, doping or not, that time is out of this world. As for the 400m record, I'm not so sure about that.

That's average speed. Since they start from a dead stop they actually hit speeds of like 12.5 m/s or around there. His lowest 10m split is like .81s or something like that.. pretty absurd. (Gay's best split was .83 or something close to there)

Streams? Should be on TV everywhere these days?
We'll I can just go over and watch it, but thats just me coz I live here

So who just saw the 200m WR 19.19 seconds live ?
400m, lets see if Bolt can do it or not...

Did you see how far back the other runners were? Like 4 meters at least.
Jesus christ Bolt, what are you?

Well you´d think few hundred years(probably much more) of slavery and powerty leaves you with only the strongest.
GJ nonetheless, now we know who turn to if we ever need to get someone somewhere as fast as possible without using technology, horses etc But hey there´s even more fucked up things people get paid for.

And with some help from The Clear V 2.0

I'm pretty impressed, even if he is cheating. No one else has been close even with doping so gg.

hmm 3/100 of a second off :p

Bolt improved both the 100 and the 200m WR with 0.11s. That's a huge improvement. This is the 5th consecutive time he has improved the WR (100/200/4x100) in a big tournament (OG/WC).

Jamaica is 5-2-2 medals from short tracks. Thats some genes, gosu practice, coaching and timing of a form.

Well I remember there was a pretty serious study where they concluded that the human body could not run the 100m faster than 9.48. Under 10 secs without doping is very easy lol I don't what you're talking about.

Quoting from a post in youtube,
"Lets do the math. 100m = 9.58 seconds 200m = 19.19 seconds --> each 100m = 9.595 seconds
That's ridiculous. He virtually ran the 200metres at 100m world record pace."
This could be it. First man to claim all 100m/200m/400m world records.
edit: wait, he isn't even competing in the 400m
|
Usually people run the 200m slightly faster (averaging the whole run) than the 100m because you sustain top speed for a longer period of time. The 400m though, is a lot different from the 100m and 200m meaning that Bolt would have to put a lot of work in before he could try to challenge that record.
