Im willing to bet it had something to do with the following.
A. Microsoft was being all cock block about intraconsole and interacting with pc's. Which is a stance they've always been obnoxious about and that dust really needed.
B. sony was willing to front them being a publisher for them some CCP didnt really have the connections for to do on a console release, often times you'll get publisher help and monies for going exclusive.

headesk guys I already posted about dust 514 being annouced at e3 and no one responded and now theres all these posts about it being something new :/.
Also the first AAA FPS made in asia for the International community?

Im hyped for dust514 but im really pissed of that its only on console. CCP have been working on a game and not spending time making EVE better to make a game for console, which i cant even play, and i hate consoles.
However is it even goes on the PC then it would be insane, ive actually always wanted a FPS/EVE hybrid but i never thought it would happen.

Yup. Same here. I think it seems like a bit of a strange idea to make it a Ps3 exclusive, considering that most of their fanbase (I would imagine) are primarily PC players.
I could more understand if they wanted to release it on PS3 first as a test run, to see who they could bring in to the franchise. But even then, a PC test run would make more sense anyway...
Maybe they have something else up their sleeves for PC gamers? I hope so..

That its ps3 exlusive is a tad disappointing. That it was never intended for pc was clear from the start. That they've spent time not working on eve: CCP is a company, they are trying to diversify their sources of income and areas of competence. Money better spent on eve? You dont just hire an additional 20 eve devs, the more cooks the worse stew or something. They got a pretty sizeable workforce. what I'am saying is they probably cant find use for more that wouldnt get in the way of the other evedev teams.

Its a wannabe jag
EDIT: was that officer afterburner really worth 161K?

It's Abom you mean.
Anyway, I've thought about this long and hard, I'm going to get a bait Rorqual for Oddel.
It's the perfect bait ship.

Nah it's worth about 300m. It's mispriced on the kb.

what could possibly go wrong?

Can fit capital shield transporters (with range bonus), drone bonus's and a pretty large drone bay [Edited because I don't know how drones work]. Can also put warfare links on it.
This is the best idea ever.

What you missed is Kwark got a Maelstrom to go bait TID, and instead of TID (who were nowhere to be found), 7 Rifters GCC'd themselves on a gate and exploded, then the rest of their fleet (Scimi, BB, Drake, Drake, Cane) came to back them up. Maelstrom, Cane, Cane, Drake, Harb, and 2 siege linked Scimitars were too much. We let one Drake go so that he might bring word of our deeds to his friends.
After that, some people decided to fight Gunpoint in Oddelulf.
They did not pay for a Warring Permit, so we destroyed them all.
Then Abom wanted to try his new SPR Rifter and we didn't have targets so we apparently started shooting each other (I'd already gone to bed, however, so I have no details).

Sounds like a standard day in the life of us pirates, I am sad to have missed it.

Then its a pretty good thing they opened a completely new office in Shanghai China To work on DUST 514 instead of eve. I could grab you the trailer for it when I get home for anyone that wants to pm me for it.
God does anyone at all know anything about dust 514? It was announced at fanfest in 2009 that it was going to be a console only fps made in their new shanghai studio. How is anyone so surprised about these things?

A year after release they will call it "Gathering dust 514"

Nah but in all seriousness I wonder how they'll make an FPS like Dust514 have the longevity of EVE.

Sorry we can't all be as knowledgeable about upcoming video games as you. People are discussing it how they want to discuss it, let them do so ^^
