Quick question -
Been playing Eve on and off now for a bit over a year. Have largely just been involved in a mining/mission running corp. "Obviously" when I created I had no idea what I was doing and did so randomly. Now due to downtime (see had a kid), my account was inactive for quite a bit. I believe I have somewhere in the neighborhood of 15mil sp give or take with the 1mil bonus banked (at work so can't verify atm). Now the problem is on reading your requirements post, gallente is pretty frowned on. Does that eliminate me completely from consideration unless I reroll? Or was that just aimed at new players?
Currently I roll around in a Daredevil for complex runs and flip into a cruiser/Frig when I want to slum it. Long story short, I want to get more PVP Corp involved. Complexes are ok, but honestly not making a great deal of cash having to stay in hisec and frankly it is getting boring.

Do you have any missile or projectile and shield skills at all? If thats the case you can easily switch to drake or cane in a few days, because the battlecruiser skill isnt racial. In fleets we only fly nanoshield fits, but neither the brutix nor the myrm can do that. Furthermore one of them relies on drones, which you cant use in station/gate fights with gcc. You can join anyway and fly that solo of course, but we wont have much use of you for fleet ops.

Although gallente cruiser skills open up a wide selection of options for pirate ships, ewar bullshit, recons and the like. They're just not very good at nano bcs.

I will have to verify, but I am pretty certain my missile skills are pretty high and my shield skills are fairly solid as well. Projectile I will have to double check on since I hardly use it in a daredevil but I believe I did train them at one point.
So I guess really the heart of my question is; Would I be able to transition my current skill set into something viable? Or if I am serious about this would I spend less time just outright starting over as a Min? I mean honestly if it would take me twice as long to learn the needed skills on my current char that it would to just reroll then the choice is pretty obvious.
That said, playstyle wise I am a pretty big fan of running frigs and the notion of tackling does hold a certain appeal to me. Overall I am pretty flexible though.

If you have 15m sp there will be many skills that transition into drake/cane of course. Especially if you already have high missile skills, its only a few days for a good drake.

Okay. Are you asking us if a new account with no skills at all would be closer to flying the kind of shit we do than an old account with skills in other stuff? Because that'd strike me as a pretty stupid question. Most of what you have (fitting skills, nav skills, cap skills, tank skills, generic ship skills) will be transferable.

Kwark would probly start you out in a frig anyways, incursus, tristan are nice enough frigs and youll get to enjoy suicide tackling. If you like tackling enough you probly have a bonus pool big enough to get you to recons which gallente has amazing ships for ~90km point if done right, theyre a little pricy so get your lumps in a frig.
If youre intent on the being pew pew get a drake, canes are nice but kwark seems to have a love affair with taking gate gun fire.

I ordinarily would believe the question insipid as well, but given the level of animosity directed at Gallente at the end of the post. I wanted it in clear black and white before I applied and got laughed at for picking gallente.
That clarified it for me, I will contact you further as per the instructions once I make a definite decision as to my direction in Eve.
Thank you.
Thanks for the additional Info there Abom. I don't mind the idea of suicide tackling, I spent years doing suicide pulls as a rogue in EQ so saccing myself for the overall picture doesn't bother me. Though I do need to do some serious faction farming somewhere so I can get a bloody jump clone. I don't relish the notion of losing my implants when I inevitably get podded.

Lachesis is a great ship that we can use. It can fit a nano, and with good missile skills you can hit out to 76k. I was toying with EFT a bit and you can fit nano/dcu/stab and still have 90km point range with heat and links, 42km scram (IIRC), and 76k missile range (I think) with 200 dps, plus drones. Lachesis OP.

Kwark have you had enough time to get over being a giant bleeding pussy and come back to OSL?

I was shitfit because I'd been trying to get a warpin on a cynabal and was covered in tackle mods. Then when they aggressed me on a gate instead of calling a jump through (because we had no intention of fighting on gate) I called on the fleet to GCC themselves in the moment. This was the wrong decision, especially with a cynabal capable of keeping points on people. It was just really stupid. However that battle mail wasn't all me, we'd taken like 6 losses before I took over.

had friends play this growing up and always thought it would be bad ass to play, gonna try a 14 day trial right now and see if I want to buy it.

I don't see why you called that a shit fit, I get what you were doing. Similarly those sort of losses happen when you dick with bigger gangs, just a bummer you didn't have two or so more drakes.

With RF points, you can get 100km heated point and 35km heated scram.

Unless you're made of isk and willing to pay 160mil (rf point) and another 60mil (rf scram) I'd just stick with T2. With loki bonuses that's enough.
If really pressed, I'd splurge on the scram over the point, get more bang for your buck turning off MWDs for your nano drakes to pew.

As sard said, rf points are expensive and not worth it. T2 is more than enough on a lachesis with links.
Having a lachesis and a rapier in fleet would make me a very happy nanoship, especially in a month when I get my nanopest. Oh lawd.
