About a month ago we were all based in the same small bit of highsec, running roams into low and missioning together. 'Twas a wonderful time to be a new guy because there was endless salvage and people always about in the single safe system. Unfortunately for them, times change, and although we are still pretty much centralised there is less carebearing and more living in low. It's a completely different environment to grow up in with way less free money but it'll produce better players imo.

I've been in null sec pretty much my entire time in eve. Dangerous if you don't know what you're doing but there is so much isk there. And being out in fountatin there's pvp errywhere! Been on 4 or so ops in the past week 2 of which had titans in them and 3 of them had cap ships. I don't know what it is but there's just something captivating about flying with cap ships while in a t1 frigate :3

I've never really been in low sec though. I've heard it's more intense in terms of pvp, what with more 5-10 man roams rather then 20-50+.

From what I've learned from the guys we kill, getting the fuck out is one of the most valuble skills that none of them know. It's like they just give up when they get into a fight.

It counts damage from the last session change. He was doing a long mission while self repairing and had taken tens of thousands of damage before I arrived, despite being on full armour. I killed him from full health, it just counts all the damage and not the reps.

Also I put the numbers from the last month into excel for a few stats. Removed all the kills where we didn't get the final blow to avoid the overestimates of how it works. Statistically our kills to losses ratio in isk hasn't improved much since January, still holding steady at 1:1.68. A massive increase in the scale of our operations and the volume of our kills has not been coupled with an increase in the skill of the average pvpers.
However, the increase in volume is because of more people pvping who weren't doing it previously so the addition of inexperienced people without changing the average is decent I guess.

lol. So maybe it's not as intense as I thought. In my experience the hard part has always been catching them. We chased a group 12 systems once before they got to their home system and docked up

When you're typically outnumbered 2-3 to 1 a well executed gtfo is awesome. Our current prey generally have far, far greater resources to call upon than we do so when we confront them we'll usually attempt to draw them out and isolate and pick off vulnerable targets. We'll push the passive regen of both shield and buffer to its limits as they threaten to swarm over us and then we'll attempt a disengage at the last moment. It's those times that recons and ewar pilots really get to show off.

Ew. I mean I see your point about being able to do more with the Loki overall but for actually scanning things down in combat you're going to want to use something with scan strength rigs and such.

Then again you could be so rich you can just have multiple Loki for the fitting and then it no longer matters

Also JoFritz the tactics the Hatchery generally employs means that they completely control the range and place of engagement. Their ships can get out whenever they want because they are faster than the ship trying to keep them long pointed.

Generally, things that can point us are either:
1) Slower, so we just nano out
2) Weak as shit, so we just alpha them

Occasionally there's a BB on the field, which helps a lot.

Sometimes not everyone can GTFO.
