I go in for it and as I land the Maulus lands right after. Hm, I burn off. Both Condor and Maulus chase, but the Condor is surprisingly slow. I decide to go for the Maulus. As predicted it sensor damps me, and I begin to kill its drones with FoFs. I see the Condor warping to its buddy (which is pointless when we're both going way faster) then suddenly both of them go faster and the Maulus points me from afar (links). I overheat and it doesn't overheat, so I get to a comfortable distance while aligning out and turn off heat. I debate how I could turn this around, if such a thing was possible, when suddenly two Falcons and a Tengu decloak and I'm permajammed on top of being double bonused damped. Well screw that, I overheat again and before they close in on me I warp out. I warp to the G-M gate to leave, when .. the stargate refuses you permission to jump. But my timer should be up by now... wha? It's still at max time. Weapons timer blinking at 1:00 and Log-Off timer at 15:00. I immediately warp to a safe and petition it under stuck while thinking of what I could do to fix it without blowing up. I warp to a belt and shoot some rats. NPC timer working perfectly but PvP timers still messed. I warp to the station and shoot the station services. Nothing. I warp back to the Torrinos gate and land in a drag bubble and a bunch of stealth bombers and recons decloak and start shooting at me. Well nothing tackles me so I just burn until I'm offgrid. PvP timer? Still broken. And there's more: Combat Probes. I warp back to the gate at another angle and begin mwding around the gate while the Maulus and Falcons are laying the full force of broken ewar on me. At this time I opened Help chat and sheepishly explain my situation. No response for a good minute or two. Meanwhile it's been about 20-25 minutes and no reply from my petition. (edit: Supposedly I did get a reply, but it didn't appear at the time) I ask again in Help chat. Half a dozen say they don't know and have never been in that situation. One or two suggest I petition it. Done. Someone suggests I recall or abandon my drones. I don't have any drones. Another suggests I log off and back on. Hm... with Combat Probes out. I quickly consult BBQ who lols, whether it be in approval or disbelief or just to quickly reply me while killing people in Curse. I log off and on. Still alive, cool. PvP Timer fixed? Nope. It's been almost 40 minutes now and I'm bouncing around the EC- gatecamp not sure what to do. Once again I send in a second petition, this time with the only explanation "Stuck." I decide to orbit the gate again and again I'm damped by the Maulus. I attend the Help chat again, in which I am now completely ignored. Bored, I decide to go towards the gate and tempt the Maulus to tackle me in which I would ram it, unleashing the fury of my 3 light missile launchers.... when suddenly I decloak a Rapier. The angry exposed Rapier immediately locks and webs me, in which alll the falcons and alll the stealth bombers decloak and start shooting at me and laying down the heavy ewar. Unfortunately the guys camping the drag bubbles don't get on the killmail. But alas, I WAS FREE TO LEAVE! | ||

bbq demonstrates how to not shoot primaries / outtrack his own guns while orbiting with AB on with scorch (they had some more t1 cruisers that made it out, I'd say around 6? we also had augoror) turns out scorch has fairly bad tracking when you're not cheesing people with a 32 km optimal setup edit: I haven't actually watched some segments of Brutis's videos due to :youtube: - somehow managed to be able to watch them now + Show Spoiler + every single fight in here is insanely good. | ||

The hacking minigame was pretty hard to figure out, but once I knew how to do them (instead of spamming attack on all firewalls) it was relatively easy. If you fail one in hisec a small frigate spawns, nothing serious. If you complete one all these cans will explode, and you have to spam on them to come to you. Most people complain about this on the official forums because its a nerf to solo (don't read official forums), but I was just happy I managed to catch 'so much' cans. I 'made' about 40 million in 30 minutes. This included about 10 decryptors, what this means for prices of decryptors when odyssey hits I don't know. For some reason CCP wanted to make exploration a viable profession for newbies with 0 sp, just like mining, and with just a days training you can hack sites and earn relatively good isk for a newbie, so I think they succeeded in that part. Two people exploring sites can make double the income of one person doing that same site, so this is another activity in highsec that benefits from working together with people, which isn't a bad thing at all. Looking forward to Odyssey. | ||
