went ok
Went good. People need to realize shield b isn't 'home to the elitist jerks' but was/is intended for learning and growing new players. Old players trying to take a shot at FCing and new players learning wtf to even do in a roam and what their roles and responsibilities are.
Sometimes VoV is more interested in being critical of others rather than trying to help them.[no disrespect intended VoV] The trick to learning isn't about being given the answer (or fit in our case) but rather the knowledge behind the fit.
I'm sure we've all heard 'Give a man a fish, feed him for a day, Teach a man to fish, feed him for a lifetime.' It rings true here. Pointing out errors helps few, suggesting alternative tactics/ideas helps all.

Is that in reference to what VoV said about Monkey's rupture fit?

Yes, as well as the end of the roam comments when we stumbled our way back to Boundless Creations.

Didn't hear those as I had to leave, but in regards to Monkey's fit what VoV said was justified, even if the way he worded it was fairly harsh. Monkey is by no means a new player so I'm sure he can take them and still learn from them. What did VoV say at the end of the roam?

You just have to catch VoV in a good mood, When he is cranky he will be a dick, when he is in a decent mood he will spend an hour explaining things to you. He really does know the game very well, and I've learned to take his input to heart.

Monkey was being completely retarded and frankly I expect far better than that from someone who should know enough about the game by now to...well...never fit a rupture like that...ever. But the prevailing atitude seemed to be 'who cares if your shitfit, its only t1 cruisers' so I decided to decline fcing that mess. Later as they were coming back twards hek, I had engaged a gang camping a gate that they were going to be passing through. I asked galdo why he died to the sfi and it was a bit difficult to figure out at first.
This is mostly because he wasnt actually paying attention to anything on his screen at all. And its certainly not the first time hes done that. In fact, Given hes had this problem for a while I wouldve expected him to atleast try and work on it. I would love to give alternate tactics/ideas but when the problem is you arent looking at your screen wtf am I suposed to say? There is never ever an excuse for that. You can lead a horse to water but you cant make him drink.

I'm trying to improve, being berated to no end every time I make a mistake doesn't help. I know I should have been watching the velocity column better, after the first reminder doesn't help me to improve any more.

instead of plating your SFI, a falcon will suffice.
good thinking

Being told "you need to pay more attention to your overview, especially velocity" is quite different from massive insulting and demeaning that makes me want to move into playing skillqueuetrainingonline, or just quit.

I'm busy for less than a week and chessur makes a power grab...

Does the idea of reading, learning and being yelled at to better yourself sound appealing? Because I am not sure every one would agree with me on that point. There was a reason there was a very high level of competency among hatchery members. At the same time, there was also another reason our 'spawning pool' filled with noobs rarely produced any new recruits- people can't take it. They were either content to wallow in mediocrity, or they were unwilling to set aside their Dunning Kreuger psychology and really learn. Were the methods of the hatchery harsh? Unforgiving? and borderline abusive? Yes. But did it produce great pilots, certainly yes. So i would be curious to hear what most of the S battery pilots feel about this. Many of you have flown in fleets i have FC'd. Do you like the way the I do things? Are you prepared to be treated like that for a long long time? Do you have a desire to improve when it comes to PvP at the cost of having to sit through people yelling at you, and giving you CONSTRUCTIVE criticism? If the answer is yes, then awesome- because that means we have a lot of work to do, and a ton of teaching that I need to perform (along with other 'older' battery members.) But if the answer is no, then perhaps we need to finally have a corp wide discussion about S battery's modus operandi. If you can set a clear goal, then people who are happy with the goal will stay- and those that are not can leave. The inner turmoil can cease, and people can go about their merry ways It's possible to give constructive criticism and produce good pilots without being a complete asshole like VoV can be sometimes.
