Even though it sounds demeaning it is true. I feel that improving at anything video games (or scambaiting / competitive ESPORTS tier shitposting for that matter) requires constant vigilance, not only against being bad, but against mis-perceptions about being good. The former is easy to spot as there is typically obvious negative feedback involved, the latter is the far more difficult one to realize.

Perhaps we (I) are unfit in the environment you and orious have created. If that is the case, thats fine- but I think that someone needs to make a clear set of goals ![]() Im not sure that all of it was 100% bull shit. Hatchery was the school of hard knocks. Lots of people dropped out, but those that stayed did very well. Spawning pool was a prep school for hatchery so pilots had the basic skills, and prepared their assholes for a good 'kwarking' Actually Spawning Pool was for people with less TL cred. They would have access to Supply Depot and fleets but super sekrit stuff was kept in GA for people with real TL cred. Source: I was in both SP and Hatchery.

From the start it was clear that Shield Battery did not have the same goals as Hatchery. It has a much more laid back environment where people do not want to play in fear of being shouted at for every mistake. At the same time, they can definitely benefit from flying with experienced pilots, both for enjoyment and for learning's sake. People from Hatchery that choose to fly with Shield Battery have got to realise that Shield Battery will never be Hatchery 2.0. When you give advice, saying 'you should have kept a closer eye on your velocity tab' is fine, going on to rant and insult someone is not. Shield Battery is full of people that want to be decent but primarily want to ENJOY the game, and when you belittle them, it's taking away from that. Tl;dr, leave the old Hatchery attitude behind. Play EVE like what it is, a game.

So bad... its good You can open someone's eyes to the fact that they can do better without insulting them, which happens far too fucking much. edit: People from old Hatchery should create a Hatchery 2.0 corp of their own. Then instead of jumping onto Shield Battery roams, they can host their own roams and leave an open invite to Shield Battery people. edit: Chessur heard me suggest this on TS and stole my idea yoyoyoyoyo
