Today I finally won a Promo. Only a Faction Cruiser though *meh* but could be worse. Together with a Crane I had delivered I am up by 300m currently. Playing all the Promos is pretty much not the best source of income but hey I can do it from work ^^.

First trial: make a perfect empire hulk pilot in less than 81 days. If you can do this, you can PLEX a main account forever.
I managed to setup a Hulk with everything but Exhumer 5
Takes ~81days 12 hrs.
Can drop a few shield skills and get it below the 81 days mark to sell.

exhumer 5 seems pretty huge though id think ~_~

You do not need any shield skills on a Hulk character

Well there is a difference from what we think a Hulk character should have, and what people don't know it should have
|
I would get Orca skills aswell and lable it hulk/orca. Also exhumers V = Maxed hulk to most noobs on the char bazaar.
|
K Exhumers 5 no shield skills and no Omber/Kernite Tech II Crystal 91 days with no implants or remap.
Implants alone take 11 days off of training can leave both remaps to sell as 2x Remaps for them increases value me thinks

Sounds like a plan, but there is no way to get it below 81 days if you want Exhumers 5

Yeah, making an Orca character on a 51 day isn't bad at all. I sold mine for 1.8b, and I was too lazy to market or haggle.

I think you can get one with 81days or below with exhumer 5

@JB: For a 51day account? With like, what is that, 2.5mil SP? WTF.

started playing again and my first day of solo pvp in a merlin.
Lesson learned: No matter how small your ship is, if you're flashing red people are scared.
Started out thinking "well, since I never did solopvp or pvp (other than tackle) in a frig at all I should probably start with easy stuff, stuff on my level. So standard frigs only it is". Turned out standard frigs that are willing to pvp are quite rare. I usually just check those faction pvp outposts and warp in if I find something there. So I'm usually getting something like a 30km warp-in because they're either looting or fighting npcs and pretty much everyone insta-warped away.
So I changed my approach: Engange whatever the fuck you want and die just for the sake of getting your first 1v1 battle experience to get less nervous. Still as long as my warp-ins turned out to be 30km-ish everyone was running away. I was engaging firetails, drams, random destroyers even a sabre. And everything got away. Luckily I guess, they would have raped me like crazy.
In the end I got a single merlin, I killed a single warrior 2 from an mwd+longpoint incursus (lol) and lost like 30 cap boosters. Should have bought those in millions. How do you guys get people to fight you in the first place
Edit: Btw no idea if it's okay to post in here when I'm no longer in the hatchery oO
Edit2: lol I killed a trasher I get in there, sitting on plan 6 to check out where the trasher or the cara I saw on dscan are at and find both at a beacon. So I get them on a 5° and I think I had them both on different 5°'s for some reason. When I had the trasher on dscan the cara was not and vice versa. So I warp in, and land 10km off the cara I was looking for. He warps out before I could do a thing and I realize he was fighting the trasher who's sitting 60km off warp-in.
It seemed to be the time for an experiment, and apparently the trasher thought the same way. I'm only ab fit but will my tank (aka my 10 boosters) last until I get to that trasher? Doubt it but whatever I can just warp out if it turns out to be ugly. I approach him head on like the man I am and he's shooting me with his arties. I realize he's only moving with 300ms so I heat the ab (I really didn't think I'd make it anyways before so I didn't even bother overheating until I realized he has no propulsion) and finally I get into 10km, get my point on him, web and orbit at 800meters with 0 boosters left. Everthing as expected

Go ahead, why not. Feel free to rejoin though ~

On July 12 2012 07:02 Firebolt145 wrote: Go ahead, why not. Feel free to rejoin though ~ yeah last time I quit because everything I had was my missioning machariel and roams. I never started solo roaming so it was incredible boring because roams usually ended up being spontaneous depending on wether or not there are enough people around and missions are the same over and over again.
So this time I'm trying to get something I can do on my own figured out first so I can do something in my spare time. If I get that going I'm considering wether or not I'm sticking with eve :p

Welcome to the world of solo pvp. Chase, chase, chase, FUCK YER I CAUGHT SOMEONE! Oh... he has 5 friends and he's bait or... Oh he's been playing for 5 days and he's mining in low-sec. Only reliable 1v1s I've ever been able to find were with R1fta and Tuskers people.

Except that the only kill I got was a Merlin who thought it smart to engage me on a gate.
Recently I was following around a party of three 2 or 3 week-old characters in frigates and trying to lure them to a celestial. They never followed me and preferred to sit at gates instead. I figured they simply didn't realise there is stuff you can warp to thats not on your overview. Eventually they flew back into highsec.
I suppose its faster to just sit in anomalies and wait for the PvP to come to you, but I found that to be more boring than when you're actively trying to find some.
Engaging ships which should tear apart frigates isn't an issue if your ship doesn't even cost 10m, because you never know if they are failfit.
