Stardate: May 27, 2012 System: 93PI-4 Location: 0.16 AU from Sun, Inside an 8/10 Complex, Room 1 Details: I was doing my usual probe around to do random sites that Fallen Destroyer had not grabbed for himself, mostly in 93P/G-M etc. I had found a fun Radar, Wormhole, and a Pith's Penal Complex. Undock the Proteus! + Show Spoiler [Accurate Representation] + ![]() Got dick all from the Radar, so I start on the 8/10 with my Proteus tanking, and Oracle blapping all cruisers and frigates. Suddenly Sisters Core Probes! This is my ball, no one else can have it! + Show Spoiler + ![]() After what seemed like half an hour (it actually was half an hour) of the Probing Person in question, warping probes one at a time to my site, leaving the probes within 2 AU for 5 minutes or more at a time, only to warp half or all of them away, to then warp them back. This process repeated for the entire time, as if to confuse me, but I did not waver, a Proteus appeared on Dscan (no it wasn't me in my oracle dscanning my own Proteus). At this point I was about 110km away from the warp in, and as the Proteus decloaked in the site, I was scared and confused, why is there a Proteus here, what did he want, is he some crazy longpoint kiting Proteus that is going to hold me here for a gang to jump into system and gank me? He decloaks on the warp in and I casually warp away. + Show Spoiler + ![]() I decided to safe up to get a better handle of the situation. Johnny was nearby and brought a Drake as backup. We warped back to the site, the Proteus was on dscan, then he wasn't on dscan, then he was, then he wasn't. Surely he was in the site, but alas as we entered the Proteus was nowhere to be found. Johnny offered to try a logoff trap as I continued the site, and I took it. I began clearing a lot more of the first pocket, slowly because Proteus, when suddenly the enemy Proteus decloaks 8km away from my Oracle, while I was tabbing between characters. My reaction time was too slow and my Oracle was scrammed. He must have hated my Oracle, he must have loathed it with the hatred of a thousand burning suns. + Show Spoiler [Picture the Melon as Hate] + ![]() My Oracle was able to blap it's shields and a bit into the buffer tank before it died in a fire. BUT IT WOULD NOT GO UNAVENGED, as my Proteus, with it's Point range subsystem installed, was only 16km away from my Oracle. + Show Spoiler + ![]() Johnny returned from being afk at this point and was inspired for battle, logging on, I had a few seconds where it was just me, my EC-300's against him and his EC-300's. Alas I was jammed, but what ho, he was not aligned, and Johnny called out he got secondary point! + Show Spoiler [My Face the Rest of the Fight] + ![]() Oh and Chessur showed up too. http://teamliquid.killmail.org/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=13480358 ![]() Sort of hatch drops, I got the Scram, and Johnny got the Imp Navy ENAF since he got that hero point. Also the Proteus salvage was 2 Logic Circuits, and the 8/10 dropped nothing, and no salvage from the officer guy.

My Proteus can tank the entire last room with one medium rep w/ Standard Exile. I had to use both reps when accidentally agro'd everything and said "fuck it" and charged the boss, MWD on.

I had tried the game before but never stuck to it. But it did leave a mark on me. When I saw this thread I decided to pick it up again. I had been a follower of Team Liquid for some years and to play with fellow Starcraft fans in space sounded like a good choise to me. So I created my trial account and did all the things needed to do to become a member of this TL space empire. I was appointed KwarK as my mentor. Sad days ahead. I dont know what was going on, but the strict Rifter doctrine that is norm today didnt apply to me for some reason. I was flying fail fit Ruptures. Also the mentoring done by KwarK was non existant. As a new player I "didnt want to bother" him with stupid questions so I didn't. Instead Firebolt helped me out. He made KwarK give me the much needed ISK for skillbooks and what have you and then I was on my way, on my own, into space. Like I said earlier, I was not forced into a Rifter. I was somehow allowed to come in a Rupture. Totaly fail fit. I had no idea about anything. At all. Totally clueless. I made so many mistakes in fleets in those early days. For example I randomly decided to warp to KwarK once, almost decloaking him. I once started shooting on an ally while sitting on a gate. I can't speak on TS either for some reason I have no idea why, which make fleet a bit harder for me. My mistakes and failiures was becoming a mountain, and after some time I got somewhat saddened by it. Always being raged at, never doing anything right. Viceorvirtue even asked permission to hunt me down and kill me, but was denied by KwarK. So I decided to to what I always do. Go solo. The Blogg I found this blogg by a Lone Stealthbomber named Chessur. That guy inspired me. That is more my style. I wanted to be like him. Skill queue changed to bomber as soon as possible! Said and done. Who new it actually took time to fly those things? But once again I failed. In my experiance it was nowhere close to his tales. I lost stealthbomber after stealthbomber for no reason what so ever. Fail fitted most of them. To make some money I started out like everyone else. Salvaging after level 4 mission runners, while training up to be a level 4 mission runner myself. That I failed too. Not the salvage part, but the mission part. All in all I think I lost more in Maelstroms than I made in missions, and even tho I trained for Machariel, I never got one of my own. Switched to Drake for a bit got so bored I wanted to just die. Still to this day I do not x up a lot, even tho I really do want to fleet up and go have some fun. Moral of the story? You can suck hardcore at EVE Online and still enjoy the game more than you can imagine. These guys are sometimes rude and harsh, but they will help you regardless. Join us. Edit: Spelling Wait a second you read my blog? are you srs???!?!?!? that is cool

For now I suppose I can give you a brief story of my time in EVE because its getting a bit late and I'm tired. I started this game because I had just gotten away from WoW and was looking for something more challenging. I was browsing TL and just happened to stumble across this thread. I had played EVE for a few months many years ago, and it was horrible because I had no guidance whatsoever, but since I was quite a bit older and would have the TL corp to help me out, I decided to give it a second chance. I had no posts at the time, but I was a rather avid SC2 fan so I was allowed in ![]() I decided to train for hurricane because it was a cool ship, and because most people flew drakes. Also the drake sounded like a boring ship at the time (and it most certainly is). Thus started my time as a rifter. The first significant event I can remember was during my first roam. It was the first time I ever did something wrong. I was told to warp to station at 100 in my rifter so I could give a good warpout point for kwark. Unbeknownst to me at the time, my push-to-talk button (mouse button 4) also causes a click to be registered in the eve client. As I was moving through the right click menu to warp to 100, I finished saying that I was about to warp, so I let go of the button right on the "warp to 0" button, which caused me to click, and as I was aligned, off I went :s Another thing I can remember about the time is not really being able to understand Kwark at all, so it was all just british yelling at the time. As time went on I got better and better, and my rifter training really finished in my eyes when I welped myself because I took a fleet order as a rifter order (theres a video, but I'm not going to give it to you :p). After that came the move to Sara, and thus starts my time in PTSC. The move to Saranen was pushed as a way to get more fights because of EC-, but it was really because sara was the .1 system with a lvl 4 quafe agent. Def and Emdar chose not to make the move, instead choosing to do their own super smallgang stuff out in Curse (loooooooooool). I joined them, as I refused to pay kwark 10m a pop to move my hurricanes (everyone was pretty poor back then). Curse is a special place, where falcons will decloak, try to jam each other, and then decloak backup falcons to save their original falcons. I joined them on roams a few times in my utterly horrible rifter that I don't like to talk about, but that time was mostly where I training minmatar cruiser to 5 and played LoL and beared in Hakeri. After 2 months of that, I decided I wanted to fly bigger things, and moved to saranen to rejoin hatch. In saranen I flew my second favorite ship of my eve career, the arty cane. I was normally the only one among a fleet of drakes, with chris and jed sometimes there to be my minmatar bros. It was just standard hatch ownage for quite a while there, but unfortunately the metagame shifted to make my cane and sleipnir obsolete. There isn't anything really special about this time, it was just standard pvp all the time. People started to just dodge every fight we tried to start, and when the war in the north happened, we just had no fights at all. The move to YZ9 was partially made because of the lack of fights, but it was also because of money that we moved. Gotta make them bhaalgorns yo. We did some really cool stuff in the beginning with the delvegoons, and then we just stopped really doing things. It was very hard to do thing solo in Delve, unlike up in Pure Blind, so people just did less and less, and I certainly stopped playing as much as I used to. The only really significant things I can remember about YZ was the totally legit bubbleplay we tried to do against cascade, and the tengu toilet. It was a very inactive time for hatch. It was during this time that I got kirk though, and that means I was flying my favorite ship in eve, the curse. We just stopped doing things eventually, and there was enough longing for the easy fights of ec- that we just stopped kwark's bearing and moved back to sara. I did spawning pool and the big recruitment drive at this time, but after that I went really inactive besides my work in EDLP. So I'm tired and I'll end my story here, however unfinished and terribly written it is, as most of the current stuff is common knowledge at this point in time. I still need to write about EDLP, but I'm still running that business, and I don't really think most of you will find it all too terribly interesting. I do get stuff like this from time to time though. + Show Spoiler + Hi Sedoris, I'm sorry to mess you about but I am no longer in a position to make the exchange. I must sadly confess that I got drunk on Friday night and had a brain explosion playing eve. I used the loyalty points to buy some implants instead. I got what I deserved though and lost my Abaddon thinking I was invincible. I do feel like a right shit about it, and I understand if you no longer wish to business with me in the future, but I would love to tak up this possibility at some time in the future. I am forwarding you 10M as a token of my appreciation, and a small apology for messing you about. Thanks, and sorry, Twiggy. Now I could make a personalized thank you to everyone I can think of, but I will undoubtedly forget someone and I'll feel bad about it, so I'm just going to thank all of you for all the good times that we've had, for everything you have taught me, for letting me teach you, for correcting me when I'm wrong, for not being too butthurt when I have corrected you, for taking me on as a rifter, for keeping me when I failed, for trusting me, for setting the bar high, for telling me I'm retarded, for taking my crap, for listening to me, for being my suppliers, for valuing your time as free so I can yell at you for it, for generating hilarious killmails for us to laugh at, both your own as well as others. Most of all thanks for being the best corp in EVE, one that makes me happy to be a part of.

I've stopped playing games like WoW and I'm looking for something more intelligent, like Eve. But, since i stopped playing 6 years ago, everyone who continued must be in the millions of SP ahead of me.. does the "useful in 16 hours" thing still hold true?

Yes, you can fly a tackle Rifter in about 16 hours, and tackle Rifters are always awesome. They are especially awesome for nano style flying, which is our specialty.

Tgun introduced me to it early last year but I only got to play it for a few days before I went to Korea and it got me interested. I have only now gotten back into it and the last few days even doing stuff by myself has been awesome. I love how it truly is "do whatever you want" and the system seems really complex to me, I've spent hours just reading about things in the game. I've been dabbling in missions/mining and just flying around looking at the amazing scenery, but then last night I was watching GSTL and casually mining stuff when some random guy came in destroyed my jetcan and tried to kill me ![]() From what I understand you guys are busy with exams, its been a while since I have been to uni when do they normally finish up?
