I really enjoy the social part of MMO's and often I couldn't even find people to group with for quests. Also there seemed to be no real economy and trading, which is something I also love doing.

Individual penalties for valor abusers, ability delay fixes. This game just got better.
Now only waiting on better Ilum and this game will be the best.

Here is what they said in response to someone being worried about their ranks being stripped.
And i just assumed they would take gear away, im not sure how it works i dont pvp much but what would be the point in just taking away their rank if they have already got the gear from it? Unless it doesnt allow you to wear the gear until you hit said rank. Did you read the OP? I don't see no longtime motivation to play for this game. There is nothing to do at 50. Operations are way too easy and the items are useless, PvP is imbalanced and just a grind.

This game seems to be failing so hard. I enjoy it though, but I won't play for many years. I will see if I even bother to level my bounty hunter(now level 6) after I'm done with my smuggler. I doubt so.

Yeah I don't believe so either lol. Highest que I have seen on launch was 3 hours I think? Never saw one higher then that.

Nice looked at the new patch notes, they are addressing the unresponsiveness of abilities so that should be coming out next week i assume. Also they are adding a space mission that gives daily commendations =) Among a bunch of other fixes but those are the two im excited about.

They released an official statement outside of the forums on it today anyways though shortly after i posted that.
Here is the 1.1.1 patch notes for those that are interested.

I find the social part just as engaging as any other mmo. Wow is the same way, if your leveling there isnt usually to many other people around for grouping up for quests in the low zones. This game is still new though and when i was leveling up there was 50+ people on most planets until i got to the higher levels. I Think i was about a week or so ahead of the pack though because now i see tons of people on those planets. Not to mention im playing republic and there is significantly more sith on my server, when i play on my sith alt, some zones have 250+ people in one instance, and who knows how many in another.
The instances dont have limits as far as i know (maybe for ilum now because of the issues) its just convenient to use them if you are getting ganked constantly, or if there are too many people farming in an area etc. I think its a good feature.

This game is still thriving.. go read the figures EA/BioWare just posted post SWTOR release. They're expecting 75-90% continued subs and their player base to shoot up past 3m in the next month.. way ahead of where WoW was in its equivalent life span.
Alot of kids that're complaining about the game just aren't patient. WoW was just as fun (and just as buggy) as SWTOR was when it first came out - the game will be smoother deeper into the development cycle. This is the most content I've ever seen packed into a game at release. To not expect a fair few bugs even after a lengthy beta just means you're naive if you ask me.

Not continuing with subscription either. The PvP is unbalanced and there is no reason to PvP either. In every CGI movie and intro of this game you are shown a great war between the imperials and the republic. This never happens ingame, its just about your story until 50. Then its just farming gear from daylies, hard mode flashpoints and warzones (only 3 still)
It really feels like a multiplayer game not an MMO, the world seems entirely dead and you are guided by your storyline throughout the planet. There is no decisions on your part other than dialogue choices. Its weird but this game is WAY more linear than WoW or SWG. Ofcourse Bioware have done many things good with this game, but the MMO part of it is really really lacking. Im playing on the biggest server in EU and its hard to find groups and when i was in Alderaan the main instance had 7 players. Thats fun !

You guys should give more time for this game and find a guild, play with them so much more fun.

Yea, I don't think I'm going to continue playing SWTOR for as long as I did WoW (since beta), I mean the story driven questing is amazing. Best I've even seen and played in a mmo, but they just didn't think through everything. The PvP, you would think since having people from the Warhammer pvp team, that they would learn from their mistakes and improve on what they did wrong in Warhammer. They didn't do that very much. Hell, hardly at all. The amount of frame rate issues people are having is unbelievably huge. I have a good setup and yet I get frame rate issues. I can't raid because of that. I can't PvP because of it.
I can just go on and on and on, but I won't. I love the game and yet I hate it so much more. It could've been so much better and could've been released so much better but sadly, it wasn't.
Please don't think I'm hating on the game seeing how I played WoW since beta. I only canceled my sub 2 months ago in order to prepare for this game, hoping it would be another MMO I could spend years playing.

Normally I would agree with you but in this case, I don't know man... Despite requiring a subscription, the game was released with very important bugs. Some of them have been reported since beta, and some of them are game-breaking. Not to mention the fact it seems that if it weren't for the players giving feedback, some issues wouldn't even have been addressed. The game also lacks a couple of standard features. Nonetheless hopefully this game will be successful. edit, Enox is right too, TOR is competing with today's WoW, not 2004 WoW.

I would bet at least 50% have not bought another month if they already reached level50. MMOs are just not what they were back in 2005-2007. Too easy&casual takes away all your motivation at the endgame.
|
The problem is its TOO much focused on levelling and grinding for stuff. What about actually playing a game for "fun" ? MMO players are all about spending 5-10 hours a day grinding theyre butts off to get some epic stuff so they can have some fun in PvP. And they are not having fun grinding, seen tons of streams of players sitting bored as hell grinding. This is in every MMO. Dont let developers fool you into spending so much time for so little, they will continue on creating WoW clones so long you the players are playing these type of gameplay.
