The PvP is highly casual and the BGs are mainly just fun minigames that you forget about the second you exit it. Think World of warcraft pre-arenas. They did state they had some plans for competitive pvp in the future, with ladders and arenas. Not 100% sure though. I really don't think PvP is a priority for Bioware, as shown by their current pvp system and bgs. Its very much a lazy approach to the whole PvP situation, just copying what has already been done. Creating a mindless grind against random people you dont know.

SWTOR definitely has the potential to be amazing. It has a great story and decent atmosphere. These factors easily attract a lot of people to start playing the game and enjoy it for a couple months. However if it plans to keep players hooked and subscribed it needs to improve its UI and playability. We can only wait and see. Atm I currently plan to stop playing once my current subscription runs out at the end of the month. I will continue to keep a close eye at the game however and will certainly rejoin if it fixes or improves on many aspects.

Edit: oh and the graphics of swtor are amazing too. I think they put the non disclosure for beta testers because it was a work in progress in terms of bugs and graphical textures but even now when anti-aliasing and greater graphical settings aren't finished yet the graphics are amazing on top of amazing gameplay ![]()

But if you don't do outdoor PvP because of the bad rewards and only farm warzones all day then you'll be bored pretty fast.

I just wanted some game to have some fun after sc2/hon/dota, so i dont really want super competitive pvp, i guess this game works for that ;P

Its quite fast paced and hectic, as long as people know what they're doing its good fun. A few things need tweaks here and there to be balanced etc and i agree it could be more "fluid" but its really not that much of an issue for me and will be fixed im guessing. Much better then alterac valley -> RUN ALL TEH WAY TO B0SS AND WAIT FOR TOWERS DEN WIN!! fun fun fun!

Claiming an MMO is a WoW-killer after playing it a week or 2 is silly. I'm not renewing after the first month because of the lack of things to do. There are few MMO's which could keep the playerbase for years, like aion, wow, lineage1, lineage2. I dont see this being one of them. I heard there were Nightmare Mode Flashpoints and at least 2 Operations to tackle at 50. Was I wrong there? Or are you talking about the PvP lacking endgame? I'm curious about your viewpoints. The leveling process is the most fun I've had in an MMO since the first few weeks of wonder that WoW was to me, so I'm unsure of what to expect at level 50. I personally love playing in the Warzones right now, so I don't think I'll be bored too quickly.

I dont think it will be a WoW killer, but if sw:tor has anything to offer at level 50 i will most likely cancel my wow subscription and only play sw:tor. After 6 years of WoW and the new horrible expansion coming out i'm bored to death WoW.

SWTOR is great and reminds me a lot of mass effect but I can't see myself playing "end game," the whole point of SWTOR is the story telling/voice acting and I don't see the point in the traditional grinding that most MMOs do to keep people playing. Guild Wars 2 looks amazing and it's free to play and has a massive following, the subscription based model MMOs use is too outdated. Diablo 3(although not an MMO will definitly pull a lot of MMO players too)

Endgame: This game has 2 raids with 3 difficulties right now, several heroic group instances and the producers just released a letter that states they add at least 1 more raid and flashpoint plus new sets in the coming month. If that isnt enough content for 2 months after release, the only MMo that will provide enough content for you is EVE since its player driven.

Just move on to the next game and leave this this thread alone. How am I obnoxious for saying that this game isn't going to be a WoW killer and that's the word of death for many MMO's? That many times people have said "This is a WoW killer!" and that didn't turn out too well with those expectations? I'm confused. Especially on that last comment since I have explicitly stated multiple times that this game is extremely fun and can be really enriching to play for people who are into this storytelling and "wow formula" thing. I'm just saying that that guy needs to cool off because it's no "WoW killer." I'm starting to think you just don't like me ![]() You know, just because someone disagrees with your opinion doesn't make them obnoxious, a fanboy of X game, a hater, or whatever. It just means that they share a different opinion than you.
