Utopia is a browser based game. It is set in middle age times, with wizards, dragons, and the such.
You are the ruler of your own province, controlling infrastructure, your army, your wizards, thievery, and other things. Your province is only 1 of about 20, in your kingdom. You and your kingdom work together, to war with other kingdoms.
This strategy game is made to play about once per day, for about 15 minutes. You check it whenever you feel like it, because it's a continuous MMO.
Anyone else play Utopia? The new age just started, so now would be the time make your own province, and have a great time.
For those of you who play this game, I'm in the kingdom (16:34). Last age I was Broodwar (7:5)

I play, was in 15:28 last age, we seem to have a decent KD, but just coulden't bring us together, resulted in 2 wars losses, and a whole lot of waiting for ppl to reach the land cap during the non war periods.

Oh man, I thought this was the old Intellivision game.
That game was awesome.
|
Is this the same game that was around 8-9 years ago? I remember I liked that game and played it a lot in school during computer classes ^^
|
It's pretty old, but I only have been playing for a couple ages. Which means, a few months. From what I hear, it could be 10 years old.
|
My kingdom had 6 wars, 4 wins. It's pretty decent, I got lucky and was put into a good kingdom right when I started the game. We're very active.
|
I used to play this game until everybody started becoming crazy about utopiapimp and forcing everybody to use it and then advertisements started filling up half the screen.
It used to be fun, but I don't recommend this game now.
|
Yeah I used to play this. It was nice to have something to check 1-2 a day and do some math over.

old as fuck, and browserbased games are a dying breed

I played in 1999-2000 back when the ages were numbered. If you wanted to be anywhere near competitive, you had to log in whenever your army was back, even if it was at 4am. It was an addictive game for min-maxers, but I quit after people made programs that did all the work for you.
7th Age - 69th overall in land out of 70k players.

Bleh. All I remember about the game was my whole kingdom getting banned because we were "exploiting a bug." Which was... um.. I don't actually remember, other than that it had something to do with sending aid and casting friendly spells, juggling stuff based on several penalties imposed for land size and whatever. Yeah, the admin was a douche.

This is so oldschool. I remember the 2 weeks when everybody at my highschool was into this.
|
Was fun with the calculation and stuff. But takes up too much time and being a strong kingdom, the synchronization is really stressful. I'm not going back.. again. Damn you Mehul Patel!

I played this when I was 8, with my brother. I picked it up again when I was like 13 but the millions of programs required by the kingdoms were gay so me and my bro only played one age and quite agian.

You only need utopia angel, and utopia pimp, to play successfully.

Yeah, I remember playing from like Age 4 to about Age 10. I actually wrote strategies from like Ages 6-10 if anyone remembers me as "braindx." I have a bunch somewhere on my other computer I believe...
Pretty much the best guys were those that used bots to manage their kingdom every hour... or like Hel of Dim Forest used exploits in the honor system.
Then they made a crapload of changes (including splitting servers & introducing battlefields) which were kinda retarded. So I quit.

Haha, played this game for YEARS, and quickly ended up playing 'competitively'. That meant every member on IRC, everyone had each other's login, and of course we were all traded in. Waking up at 5AM in the morning to attack 3x a day in war, 25/25 provinces attacking as soon as war started.
Quickly took it's toll on me, but I find myself coming back to this game every year or so. The game is dying though, I think there are less than 10k players now? They had to merge battlefields and wol back into 1 server because of the lack of players. Even then, most accs are multis. It's impossible to get far in this game unless you're in a top kd.

adly its true, i played over the winter this eyar and the only reason i wasnt at the bottem was because my rioommate at the time was in ABs, and well ABs literally runs that game these days.
although when they do things like GuW it was fun, constant wars, random people...etc, although of course everyone trades and whatnot

I played 2 ages, in my second I got to over 3k acres (pretty good for a bad kingdom) as an Orc either war hero or general.
|
People are just so friendly on utopia (generally, of course).

Never played Utopia but used to play Swirve's other game, Earth 2025 like 6 years ago
