This site is sooo amazing It makes following the fascinating world of starcraft so easy. However, as far as playing goes I prefer warcraft 3 due to the lack of need for insane macro skills over micro. I was wondering If anyone knew a great wc3 community with replays and strats and pro news and such. TL.net, how you have spoiled me!

As War3 is much more boring than SC, so is it's community ^^. I visited wcreplays.com (nice audio reps, generally) and warcraftstrategy.com when the game was just out, but i don't know how active all this still is...

Yea wcreplays is the major site that has more coverage, but all the content is only soso. Audio commentaries are nowhere as compelling as all the stuff the admins make here.

WCReplays.com has a decent forum for international players and fans to discuss stuff, but the problem with that place (and really the amateur community in general) is that it's become increasingly "cool" to be a troll. And it's not even that trolls are always bad, but they are some of the most god awful, retarded trolls one could conceive of. When it's considered "cool" to be a troll, you get all sorts of people wanting to make a name for themselves that just do and say retarded things. Good writing skills and posts with substance seem to be frowned upon a lot, which is really a shame. That and just the overall maturity level is pretty low.

But there are a lot of good posters too, so there are still a lot of good discussions and a lot of good information out there. It still has probably one of the best forums for international fans and players.

As far as coverage goes however, sites like sk-gaming.com and meetyourmakers.com are some of the better ones. There really isn't an "all-in-one" kinda place like TL.net.

A while ago I was into War3 and trying to find a communities for it as well. After a bit of searching and browsing I couldn't really find a communty for War3 sufficient enough for me, but I happened to stumble onto TL.net. I have switched back to Stacraft ever since.

Regrettably, no. There aren't really any comparable sites to TL. wcreplays.com has audio commentaries which might be of some interest, but the quality of the commentators is suspect and the general forums are chock full of idiots, and I do not recommend it at all.

Breaking up your needs;

For replays I recommend war3.replays.net, it's promptly updated and has neat search features. It's a Chinese site so you may not be able to read the news items and such but with a bit of trial and error it should be fine. There is also demonreps.com which collates replays from other sites, but I don't really use it.

For strategy.. you're kinda out of luck, at least as far as English-speaking sites go. I suggest you study pro replays. wc3.gosugamers.net has a player ranking which is good as a rough guide as to who to watch.

For news, I suggest www.mymym.com or wc3.gosugamers.net.

Good luck with war3. It's a good game, despite its bad reputation here.

I've tried many times to get into wc3, i would do pretty damn well on the solo ladder, it's just the battles in wc3 are so tedious and boring, nothing compares to terran vs zerg onslaught !

the single unit just values waay more and thus has to be microed with utmost care. it's not like wasting a ton of zerglings in a storm indifferently. everything is based on micro in that game. you lose a unit, the enemy gains xp and therefore the units have higher hp and it's a big micro fest without that much stress on macro or map control or the other fabulous things sc has to offer.

ive been getting into wc lately bcos my friends all startd playing it. so far im just using wcreplays for replays and general strats, but one thing i noticed is that all the human (the race i choose to play) strats date back to 03/04 so im not sure if they are outdated =[
