I really like the evo decision ^^ I don't really know the mahvel port differences for ps3... I've heard some stuff like the cyke infinite not working, timing on the ROM (mag infinite) being different but still completely usable. Not really sure, I only play santhrax & scrub seriously and haven't noticed differences there lol
I'm thinking someone on the staff remembered what cvs2 @ evo actually plays like.
i blame roffles and his streams for getting me into k-pop
...That's one way to make sure your stick doesn't get stolen I suppose. I don't think even the EC players are hungry enough to take a stick like that D=

hows Chun in that game?
The game is different enough from the arcade version (essentially all infinites removed and characters nerfed / buffed as well) that the character strengths are not concrete at all yet as far as I'm aware.
Odd new dash technique just found in the last couple days:

No one really plays Marvel anymore.. Like you can't play it on ggpo & imo just judging from the Seattle and Socal scenes.. SF4 kinda stole that games regular playerbase, whereas 3s has a lot of people who only got into it in the last 5 years and its still kinda fresh to them or its the only SF game they play.
CvS2.. eh. i dunno. Bas said he would fly over if it was at EVO and norcal rallied to get votes so I guess thats why.
Here's the summary for people who are not listening to the radio announcement live.
The results are basically:
Clear winner: MBAA (27% of the vote) Middle: MvC2, 3S, CvS2 Bottom: SC4, KOF12
It's very hard to tell exactly who got 2nd-4th because of the amount of vote fraud for all the games. This includes people who have multiple accounts voting more than once, suspicious patterns in the voting locations, etc. Even so, if you take away all the suspicious votes for Melty, it still wins by a narrow margin. So while we're confident Melty is the winner, we really don't know who got 2nd.
Parallel to this poll, we ran a survey on dustloop.com to ask the BB community what they thought about the BB:CT tournament. The overwhelming response was that they would rather see a different game than BB:CT, since most of their community had moved onto BB:CS. Since BB:CS won't be out on console in time for EVO, we decided to give the spot to Marvel.
Why Marvel? It's been a staple at EVO since B5. Marvel finals are always one of the best events. The switch to PS3 is a bit of a curveball for them, but it could bring in a lot more new blood from the online community. So, for all these reasons, we decided to remove the BB:CT tournament and insert MvC2 (PS3) to the line up.
Thanks to everyone who voted. See you guys at EVO.
lol TvC UAS still has a lot of the stupid stuff from TvC. Looks like Karas can still do slide loop (at least at midscreen), Chun still has lightning kick loops, burst into combo is still in, several 100% combos being found (some with no bar)...
At least it isn't Karas doing dash 5B > 2B over and over I guess.

it still has a lot of things that aren't DC or arcade perfect and it drops frames that the arcade and DC didn't (especially if it's on the new filters or widescreen mode). thankfully they chose the ps3 one not the 360... on 360 the first time you superjump or a the first time a 2nd or 3rd character comes on the screen the game drops a LOT of frames.
magneto's ROM is slightly different timing (i think it's easier? not sure I don't play magnus), as is cyclops infinite, cammy's super is missing some invincibility frames, megaman buster shot gets canceled by hailstorm when it shouldn't, a few other things, pretty much anything involving a random number generator is a little bit off (tending to extremes more than on DC, this mostly affects chip supers. they kind of fixed this in the patch but not perfect).
at least thankfully the unblockable air hyper viper beam was fixed... most of the glitches are just non-gameplay related thankfully or with characters nobody gives a fuck about anyway

in alabama in casuals marvel is more alive than SF4. basically almost not all but still bigger than 3S. I haven't even seen 3S booted up in the last 4-5 months. It's like me and this other guy for SF4, but for marvel there's like at least 7 people in my town and 8 more people down 30 minutes the road. i'm kind of tired of how bad the low tiers are on this game... like Storm is my favorite character on any fighting game, but I really like some people like Cammy and stuff but she just needs that 8way airdash and flightmode so bad she's not even on the same game its just some mugen ass shit... and she's a "high tier". I love bbhood too but ain't shit she can do to catch Storm and she has no tools against sentinel stomping on her.. so much of a love/hate relationship with this game... i mean i knew what i was getting into when i started playing this game but it still hurts despite me knowing how broken it is. it hurts because i love the game. thankfully i like at least playing with storm or doom vs. other top tiers thats really fun.
more people play it than HDR on XBL and marvel netcode is GARBAGGGEEEEEEEEEEEEEE and playing against magnus online is more stupid than magnus in person when he warps 3/4 the way through all his trijumps.
edit lol sorry for always ranting nonsense on here
a-cho just got around to uploading more of their Capcom historical game tourney vids. Japanese mvc2 yo. They look like really old matches, but they're not!
