I would go with R4/M3 if I were you guys, mainly from this about the CycloDS
- Enhanced Menu and no microSD nopass support cannot be used with homebrew files.
You are going to want to play homebrew, like DSOrganize has a web-browser with images, irc client, and file browser. Then of course theres the emulators and such.
Here is a nice list: Major DS Homebrew I realize its an old wikipedia article, but they got rid of the list of homebrew in the most recent one. Just scroll down and it lists all major programs and emulators.

i got a ds with an r4, works with every game I tested - and memory is cheap, you can get hundreds of games on it.

So I have an M3 Real (slot 1 card) for my DS (DS phat) and I want to play GBA Roms as well, is there any way to do this without also buying a slot 2 card?

Agreed! I just finished the 3rd game, and I loved all three. The translation of the fourth game is dependent on how well the third games sells, so please buy it, if possible.
Advance Wars Dual Strike is excellent, and AWDS2 is apparently coming out sometime soon.

I used to play a hell of a lot of GBA games and buying those aren't that bad ideas either; they should be a lot cheaper now but still fun
I had a hell of a lot of fun with FF1/2 but if you don't have the patience to finish an RPG then go get Mario Kart or something

New super mario is great, and the new zelda one too. There's also mario kart. Haven't played any other outstanding adult-challenging games, so I'm looking forward to what other people say.

CoD 4 isn't that bad, it's pretty fun if you're into shooters. For some reason I've been playing Pokemon...it's not that fun, just habit I guess from when I bought pokemon red >_>.
Mario Kart is a MUST get cuz it's just THE best way to play with friends and it's hella fun, I hope they make smash bros for the DS =D
Cooking mama is fun!
And this japanese drumming game Taiko something something...I love playing the Doraemon song on this game :D

My nephews also think I'm hella good cuz I knew how to get everything, it made me feel elite.
i had the same thing with mario 64 on the wii, only the kids nextdoor just go and get the red hat and fly round the castle for hours

Whatever you do with your R4, make sure to download Contra 4 and play it. I think I clocked more hours on that game than on all my other DS games combined, and that includes Pokemon Diamond.

thank you I am assuming you live in U.S.A. GameYeeeah is a good website, has R4 Revo and M3 Simply for only $35. I suggest getting the adapters by themselves and getting A-DATA MicroSD on NewEgg. For some reason, websites that sell these adapters sell MicroSDs for insane prices . . . most of them charge like $35 just for the MicroSD, when they're under $20 at NewEgg.
ok so I ordered m3 simply from that site for like 43$ with shipping , thanks for the tips ^^

DS games I like:
Phoenix Wright - I'm currently playing the first one, I'm on the last case, and I am enjoying it a great deal. However, it's not really a game to me, more of an interactive book. The puzzles are really easy and there's not much choice in your actions. If you like stories, lots of reading, or lots of pressing A or tapping the touch screen to go through the dialogue, you'll like this game.
Meteos - This is one of the most addictive and fun puzzle games I've ever played. You basically match up similar horizontal blocks, with the stylus, and "launch" them at your opponents. Ok, it'll make sense once you play it, the controls are really intuitive and easy. The game mostly requires quick reflexes, to match blocks, and strategy, to plan your best launches. I really enjoy playing this with friends - it's very satisfying to launch a huge mass of blocks to wipe out your opponent.
Elite Beat Agents - It's like DDR, on your DS with the stylus. You hit certain places, at certain times, to the beat of a song. The gameplay is very smooth and the mini-comics are quite amusing. There's not that many songs though, although I'm sure it's fun to compete with your friends.
Puzzle Quest:Challenge of the Warlords - This game is... bejeweled RPG. The cliched storyline has you saving the world and along the way, you battle LOTS of monsters. Battles are done by matching up gems to inflict damage or gain mana to cast spells that inflict damage. The quests involve you going from A to B and fighting monsters. The different spells makes the gameplay somewhat more deep that bejeweled. Surprisingly, this game was very addictive and I played long and hard in my attempt to beat it. Oh yea, this game pretty much cheats, or at least you will think it cheats, as the computer gets a lot of "lucky" cascades. These events merely made me angrier and more anxious to beat the game... Strange, eh?
Final Fantasy 3 - This game also falls in the "so difficult I feel I accomplished something by beating it" game. It's a nice RPG, typical old school FF style in every regard. Save the world etc. At the end, I spent 2 hours beating the 4 mini-bosses only to die to the final, seemingly impossible, boss. Long story short, I never beat this game.
Pokemon - Great game. Pretty much all pokemon games are the same, that could be a good or a bad thing depending on your preferences. Unfortunately, when I played it, I had no idea what the many new pokemon were so I wasted a great deal of time training pokemon only to realize... they suck. That was frustrating. But yea, if you liked the old pokemone games, this one is good too. I think there's some hardcore Wi-fi battling going on too so that adds to the replayability.
Zelda - Very good use of the stylus. Zelda just owns, what more can I say?
Picross - Fun puzzle games, a nice change from sudoku.

if you want in-depth reviews for all (or most) of the big flash carts out on the market, http://gbatemp.net/ is an excellent site.

I love my r4. If you have an old R4 and if your spring hasn't broken, don't click it in an out to remove your microSD card. My microSD card kinda got flung halfway across the room while I was playing advance wars I think. Had to use tweezers to take the spring out and it took about half an hour to take it out. It was a pain in the ass. Anyhow, if your spring isn't broken, once you have it in the in position, just pull the microSD card out rather than clicking the spring.
This is a good site to download DS games http://nds.hkorz.com/rom-page-1.html
