It's the same thing. M3 Simply = R4 And it's up to you whether you want to pirate or not. I mean, it is EXTREMELY easy, plus some one the homebrew people have made is pretty cool. Then of course you can emulate gb, gbc, nes, snes, turbografix, wonderswan...etc directly on the ds Some good games Advance Wars Castlevania Metroid Prime Hunters Pokemon Elite Beat Agents (this game is awesome) New Super Mario Bros Mario Kart DS and tons more that i just can't remember. If you have any questions i've had my ds for awhile so you can pm me or w/e.

I was hooked on the Super Mario 64 game on the DS, cuz I had loved it back when I played it on the N64 system. My nephews also think I'm hella good cuz I knew how to get everything, it made me feel elite.

- Enhanced Menu and no microSD nopass support cannot be used with homebrew files. You are going to want to play homebrew, like DSOrganize has a web-browser with images, irc client, and file browser. Then of course theres the emulators and such. Here is a nice list: Major DS Homebrew I realize its an old wikipedia article, but they got rid of the list of homebrew in the most recent one. Just scroll down and it lists all major programs and emulators.

I just finished the 3rd game, and I loved all three. The translation of the fourth game is dependent on how well the third games sells, so please buy it, if possible. Advance Wars Dual Strike is excellent, and AWDS2 is apparently coming out sometime soon.

I suggest getting the adapters by themselves and getting A-DATA MicroSD on NewEgg. For some reason, websites that sell these adapters sell MicroSDs for insane prices . . . most of them charge like $35 just for the MicroSD, when they're under $20 at NewEgg. ok so I ordered m3 simply from that site for like 43$ with shipping , thanks for the tips ^^

Phoenix Wright - I'm currently playing the first one, I'm on the last case, and I am enjoying it a great deal. However, it's not really a game to me, more of an interactive book. The puzzles are really easy and there's not much choice in your actions. If you like stories, lots of reading, or lots of pressing A or tapping the touch screen to go through the dialogue, you'll like this game. Meteos - This is one of the most addictive and fun puzzle games I've ever played. You basically match up similar horizontal blocks, with the stylus, and "launch" them at your opponents. Ok, it'll make sense once you play it, the controls are really intuitive and easy. The game mostly requires quick reflexes, to match blocks, and strategy, to plan your best launches. I really enjoy playing this with friends - it's very satisfying to launch a huge mass of blocks to wipe out your opponent. Elite Beat Agents - It's like DDR, on your DS with the stylus. You hit certain places, at certain times, to the beat of a song. The gameplay is very smooth and the mini-comics are quite amusing. There's not that many songs though, although I'm sure it's fun to compete with your friends. Puzzle Quest:Challenge of the Warlords - This game is... bejeweled RPG. The cliched storyline has you saving the world and along the way, you battle LOTS of monsters. Battles are done by matching up gems to inflict damage or gain mana to cast spells that inflict damage. The quests involve you going from A to B and fighting monsters. The different spells makes the gameplay somewhat more deep that bejeweled. Surprisingly, this game was very addictive and I played long and hard in my attempt to beat it. Oh yea, this game pretty much cheats, or at least you will think it cheats, as the computer gets a lot of "lucky" cascades. These events merely made me angrier and more anxious to beat the game... Strange, eh? Final Fantasy 3 - This game also falls in the "so difficult I feel I accomplished something by beating it" game. It's a nice RPG, typical old school FF style in every regard. Save the world etc. At the end, I spent 2 hours beating the 4 mini-bosses only to die to the final, seemingly impossible, boss. Long story short, I never beat this game. Pokemon - Great game. Pretty much all pokemon games are the same, that could be a good or a bad thing depending on your preferences. Unfortunately, when I played it, I had no idea what the many new pokemon were so I wasted a great deal of time training pokemon only to realize... they suck. That was frustrating. But yea, if you liked the old pokemone games, this one is good too. I think there's some hardcore Wi-fi battling going on too so that adds to the replayability. Zelda - Very good use of the stylus. Zelda just owns, what more can I say? Picross - Fun puzzle games, a nice change from sudoku.

I wish I had known that before the spring broke in my R4 Revolution; now I have to use tape to hold the MicroSD in place (I do not feel like spending another $40+ just to not use tape - will get a new one come income tax refund). So I can take the spring out? How hard was it and any guide / pics on how to do it? There's a rough guide with a few pics on youtube. Unfortunately, it's the best one out there =/ It's a good idea to have some tweezers or something while you do it. I took mine out from my dissection kit XD (all those hours I spent in a biology lab is finally useful for something -.-). I tried to take the black piece of plastic out with just a screwdriver but I just ended up cracking that damn piece of plastic. I found that it was easier prying the black piece of plastic out through where you insert the microSD rather than through that little gap on that metal jacket. Took me about 45 min or so to take out the spring. A bit of a pain in the ass, but at least your R4 won't look as ghetto and the game won't crash your tape gets loose.

On January 09 2008 21:24 dudel wrote: How do you think about a PSP compared to a DS? Which is more fun and which has the better games? It depends on which games you like to play. If you enjoy classic console titles like sports, fighting and racing games and want to play them away from your TV set, pick up a PSP. However, when you want a different gaming experience from your, say PS2 or similar, consider a DS. It's unique features like dual screens, touch capability and the microphone are often used to create gameplay features you won't find on your home console or PSP. Also, while the PSP has superior graphics they seem to cut on battery life, which is excellent especially with the DSlight. Both systems are fun, I consider looking through their software lineup and then deciding on which games appeal to you the most. OP: Advance Wars DS - I consider it the best strategy game for the DS. Once you get hooked this cartridge may not leave your DS slot until 50 hours of playtime. Bomberman DS - Only if your local friends own a DS, too. Singleplayer is boring, though. Final Fantasy III - If you like old-school RPGs with random encounters, turn-based battles and lot's of grinding, don't consider twice. Mario Kart DS - Must have. After playing Mario Kart you can't imagine a better multiplayer game for the DS. Metroid Prime: Hunters - The only game I haven't played through. If you're used to play shooters with a keyboard and mouse, really try this game before you buy it. If aiming with the stylus is compelling to you, well, this is a good adventure shooter. New Super Mario Bros. - It's Mario. On the DS. It's good. You know you need to pick it up. No need to tell you. The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass - Excellent adventure with beautiful use of every DS feature, nice cutscenes, good gameplay.

I choose the DS over the PSP mainly due to battery life. PSP is useless to me for long trips. There aren't many games for the PSP as well. Fun is relative, but I prefer playing DS games. DS has a huge selection of unique games while PSP games are "meh, been there, done that" variety. The touchscreen, dual screen, & microphone adds a lot to the experience.
