meh
lets go back to .49 :'(
like looking at the changelog for .51 seriously makes me wonder how icefrog didn't balance this shit earlier, e.g.
* Improved Sange's percentage and Yasha's percentage, and lowered the recent buff on S&Y a little yasha 5% --> S&Y 16%, random huge jump?! like who the fuck wouldn't have fixed it earlier
* Increased Counter Helix chance by 2% how does one get the idea that counter helix needs to occur 1/50 more times? honestly.
icefrog has done a lot of things for dota, but he sucks ass at doing so in a timely manner.
and someone please give me some justification for the random ass shit in the second secret shops and why you need to be 2 micrometers away from them to buy shit

1st team ban/2nd team ban/1st team ban/2nd team ban/1st team ban/2nd team ban
3 heroes banned per team
then 1st team picks 1 hero and then it alternates in 1-2-2-2-2-1 fashion
There are a lot of reasons for bans. One is to try to balance the game so that even if there are obviously 'imba' heroes, they aren't picked by the other team.
You also want to shut down some opponents in particular if they have a trademark hero, especially if none of your team members can play it well.
A team of no tanks might ban lina. Or a team that plans on picking QoP bans nerub assassin.
Then it's up to your team if you want to ban heroes just because you can't deal with it very well or you think you're under some kind of jinx
Bans, along with -ap mode also help to create more diverse picks.
As for picking, you want to pick a lineup that can hold its own in lane and also have great snyergy.
Most strong lanes have an initiator and after stun/damage
initiator: sand king, leoric, vengeful, chaos knight etc after stun/damage: lina, lesh, potm, THD etc
There are a lot of different combos that make it hard to just classify heroes and just pull them out for use like you would formula. Viper + NA is pretty T_T, you're pretty fucked if you're solo.
But you also need to keep in mind that heroes can't be simplified so easily. Obviously, lina and potm play a very different role.
A cookie cutter lineup is 2 x strong lanes + solo carry
There are also junglers, who make spot for a 2nd solo but I really dislike the idea of jungling. Good laning can win you half the game anyway. Come to think of it, doesn't VP almost never or never jungle? which is why they focus on early game domination?

It's very difficult for me to complain knowing damn well he gets nothing in return. :/

DUDE .51 is fucking RETARDED. are they seriously trying to make this game WORSE than it IS?? makes no fucking sense
bottle is fucking meaningless now. im glad it refills automatically tho, great addition.
i cant wait for SC2 to come out so i never have to play dota ever again
EDIT: btw we should play .49 if we play inhouses. 51 is absolute fucking garbage

you missed our epic pub game last night, venge swapped their rhasta onto the cliff next sent shop and the guy had no tps lol. so like a few minutes later three of them left. then we got mortred/vs up on the cliff next to scourges second top tower and lured spider there and swapped him and pa killed, then their morph wave formed up and pa killed him too. was too epic ;x
TOSS SUICIDE FB FTW?

6.51 is the greatest version ever, +2% counter helix, wow he almost reads my mind, I was thinking about +1.957%
Unstuck was disabled, because of some abuse with linkens ^_^ Great thinking icefrog, instead of disabling linkens or actually fixing it before releasing the new version, you allow blink+swap/toss/hook abuse, genius.

hey can the admin to the GGC TL channel give me admin so I can nudge people. A lot of people should have sufficient access for this, as it is the ONLY useful function in the entire GGC interface
|
Yeah, we all need to be able to do that.
Oh, and .51b will be out within the week, I bet. Whenever people start abusing things, it's fixed shortly.

Actually, none of those moves will result in a stuck hero, Swap/Toss both clear trees, VS and Pudge aren't allowed to have Blink. So that takes care most of the trees and cliffs abuse.

It has nothing to do with trees. You can toss people to certain areas where you can only get out with tp or some type of blink spells.
Hero A blinks to such an area. Tiny tosses enemy to that area. Hero A blinks out.
Or you can do it with visage and his bats instead of having a blinker of your own.
Similarly with swap. Hero A blinks to the area. Venge swaps him out. Venge swaps enemy in.
Same deal with hook.
There's probably more ways to do it that I'm not thinking of as well.

New bottle SUCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKS
I wasn't really ever fond of the old one, either. I'd leave my base, farm for a bit, or try to gank, and then the bottle would be empty. If the nearest rune spot was empty, I had to go back to the fountain. Bleh. At least it was a good item with one drawback. Now it's a so-so item with a bunch of drawbacks.
+ Can buy it at start + Automatically refills when empty near fountain + Lower cost reflects HP/MP restored + No cooldown + Refills after using rune
- Amount restored is only significant early in game - Amount restored sucks
So how will this affect the two bracer/boots/bottle build I saw so commonly in a bunch of higher level reps? Do you think people will still buy the bottle? Will they buy it first? Will they still go stats first, and then bottle? Will they buy it at all?

I log in to play with you whiny hoes any no ones even online. You all fail.

New Motred is the ultimate pub smash, a battlefury on her at 12:00 is just sick.

+ chicken/crow can refill + its 25 mana less per charge since it has no mana cost, health regen nerf isn't bad

I've spent all day playing with the new bottle, and I think it's terrible. You have to use all the charges just to comfortably use half of your spells. I'm not even buying it anymore.

Hm, I've been watching all of the MYM Pride Nations replays off of GotFrag. A lot of these are really cool. It's interesting to see how people build different heroes. I've noticed heroes like QoP, sand king, lesh, and a couple others are almost always picked.
A couple questions, though:
Why is it that in every game I watch, someone picks PotM? And why, in every game, do they always do two bands/bottle/boots, and then sell a band and buy a pt. booster and a hammer? And why do they always go mael/mjoll into skadi? Is it that starfall combined with mael/mjoll is just super farm/push/push stop? I've noticed people always get those "farming items" (i.e. midas, mael/mjoll) on hereos that already have a good way to farm.
I really don't get why you'd sell a band to buy a pt. booster, even if you're eventually going to go skadi. It's one thing when you sell a L1 item to buy a second or third L4 item, but selling a L1 item 12 minutes into the game to buy a pt. booster seems kind of wasteful.

yes most, but not all and it only takes one cliff xD
im gonna link this again because it's such a lulz picture + Show Spoiler [SJ and mine plan #1] +
and @ infinity, that's the long way of doing it. you don't need a hero up there, just about anything flying will do (well chickens are ancients so they don't count) edit: i was also extremely disappointed to find out that vacuum clears trees. i wonder how it'll work with cliffs. sounds like it's time for a new plan sj!
