From what I understand TL dota is now only accepting of gosuplayers, and I sincerely doubt I can devote myself to that. Glad I found this out before I started playing I guess ![]() Back to golf.

and really, new players or people who aren't that good aren't like singaled out and put down. it's dependant on what happens in the game that makes people rage, and that may last a few games but will go away. any drama that happens in tl dota is 90% not serious 10% raging for a while until things go back to normal.

Warning - NSFW + Show Spoiler + "DotA ( Dreadfully overrated, this annoying) is a custom game for Warcraft 3 that is used to wean World of Warcraft addicts from their habit, but eventually becomes habit forming itself, similarly to how methadone was used to cure heroin addiction. Although DoTa is one of the most popular games today, playing it is like rolling around in shit while doing Jack Thompson's mom, disgusting, unpleasant and downright shitty." i lol'd

Or you can try Stealth Assassin as his ultimate makes you permanently invisible, although it's harder to do well with him compared to Leo for beginners.

Rikimaru for staying out of the way and learning stuff. Leoric for survivability, people will just gank you less due to the effort it takes. Lotsa other good heros too for starters. But these should suffice for now. ;p

To explain some more, Sniper is simple click and shoot, he's little inconsistent early on as you are almost entirely depending on his superior animation and headshot procs to last hit, but you learn how to survive in a lane and your responsibility in a team fight is to stay back and just point and attack the right heroes with an assassination to finish off any runners. VS on the other hand forces you to make some choices in skill sets, Aura versus Stats figure out which one works for your lane for a particular game (yes I know this takes time and games), then you have to learn when to stun both offensively and defensively which leads to mana management during laning as a hero like VS will be 90% useless if you can't stun due to low mana. Then Nether Swap is usually the initiator for a team fight, you learn when to swap and who to swap, as well as keeping in mind swap works on both allied and enemy heroes (be creative). And Dark.Carnival, that's horrible logic, every hero has different animations and more importantly different priorities during the lane phase, base damage is only one aspect of last hitting and probably the one easiest to work around. There's guide on dota-allstars.com on laning (actually 2 but 1 is really dated), it's a bit daunting and quite a long read, but it is a really good resource.

Find a hero you like and stick with it until someone pwns your ass, then use whatever hero he used. You'll end up playing and learning pretty much every hero.
