not sure what you mean, im just saying, after playing a game with really excellent response time (something critical to this type of games success) it is frustrating and disappointing to try and play Dota2 where there are delays in every action.
also it seems like some heroes, after casting a spell, are spell locked in place and dont respond for an entire second.
i love how this game looks but the little things are dragging it down.

The problem is that you're falsely concluding that DotA has a "slow response time" and is "unresponsive". DotA is perfectly responsive if you're under 250ms (else there's delay). With that said, I agree that the game does feel sluggish after playing HoN but the primary reasons are turn speed and animations.
Turn speed is practically non-existant in HoN. If you're being chased as Witch Slayer for example, you can turn around and graveyard or miniaturize and then keep fleeing. In DotA, the turn speed often makes it detrimental to turn and use skills. It may take you a second to turn around as Lion, then you have the cast time of Earth Spike, then you take another second to turn around and start running again. That's not unresponsiveness: it's simply a difference between the games.
Animations are another factor. I can't think of anyone who is "locked in place" after casting and if so you would just animation cancel it as you do in HoN. You're probably just not used to the DotA animations for this. However, I think that animations for skills are slower on the whole in DotA, and balanced with the turn speed and other differences between the games.
P.S. I also like HoN's speed. I wish DotA2 didn't have such slow turn speed and they just scaled Batrider accordingly.
Edit: Actually, I think the cast times are a lot shorter in HoN too. Whatever. I think DotA is slower but definitely not unresponsive: it's just your perception.

So aside from feeling laggy as hell the other problem with Dota2 is that its mass leaves, in the 5 games I played 4 had leavers, either they dc'd in the first 5 seconds or just ragequit after getting firstblooded. Does that go away as you move up/is there going to be leaver protection? At least Hon stopped people from mass leaving.
Dota2 best though, missed Ursa pubstomping.

Ntreev Soft has signed the publishing contract of a MOBA game <Heroes of Newerth>(<HoN>) with S2Games January 9.
They had a joining ceremony with officials including HyunKeun Shin the director of publishing business of Ntreev Soft and Shawn Tooley the COO of S2Games.
<HoN> is a Multiplay Online Battle Arena(MOBA) genre game just like <DotA> or <League of Legends>, featuring 95 heroes, multifarious items, 21 different game modes, and high quality graphics.
“<HoN> is a 3-year-old game with great content. We are exciting to introduce this game to Korean gamers and looking forward to finishing localization by the first half of 2012,” said Shin.

They need that hon 3.0 and help release more maps into the mm.

I find it funny people say hon heroes have no turning speed or cast time, when you can actually open up the hero entry files and look at the code to see there is delay small delays but it's all there.

Obviously. If there wasn't any turn speed or cast time it'd look retarded. This discussion is blatantly about the relative differences between the two.

Has anyone else experienced matches not counting? I first played a game that I lost, and it didn't show up in the statistics at all. I didn't think twice about it, but then we got an annihilation after 10 minutes and immortal not long after that.. Nothing. Didn't show up in statistics, and I don't think I got rating for it (not 100% though). Does anyone know why this is? I played with a friend, and the same thing happened for him. Really annoying.

sometimes they dont record, usually its ok though and patches of unrecorded games are (more frequently) global or just delayed.

What do you guys believe are the "intermediate" level skills hon players who are looking to improve should learn? Skills other than last hitting and learning the heroes?

switching boots for pots/regen/last hitting/casting spells last hitting is something u should practice with all heroes as well

Hes apparently just moved beyond basic mechanical skills and hero knowledge and your advice is boot switching.
This thread never ceases to amaze l m f a o.
edit: I'm sorry I didn't really mean to be hostile but your advice is just so absurd... boot switching gives a very marginal advantage and may save you in some situations but in any event it's a pretty technical detail/advanced concept. There's a lot more important things to work on if you're still working on last hitting.
