so im getting more used to HoN now, but im having trouble figuring out item builds.
a few questions:
1. what are good starting items for a forsaken archer / silhouette?
2. do they still buy helm of the black legion, even though they're ranged?
3. do almost all melee heroes get helm of the black legion, or am i just stupid?
4. is mana battery / power supply any good in HoN? it was staple in DotA, so it kinda confuses me that i hardly see it being bought (could be because my MMR 2low)
5. what does parasite do in a typical game? jungle? what items etcetc
6. please help outline some typical ranged agi carry builds / melee str carry builds. thanks a lot!

1. Testie popularised early nullstone for Silhouette, makes her really difficult to kill and lets you then go for pure damage items like shieldbreaker. FA not sure, I'd probably just go for the standard Frostburn break it into Geos then Frostwolf.
2. Hon players saw Dota players buying vanguard and started buying hobtl on everyone. Seriously though, it's just lots of early hp for the cost, helps deal with the aggressive meta atm with tons of ganks and burst.
3. Lots do. It's pretty good.
4. MMR2low Mana Battery is still good.
5. Parasite always jungles. He is picked as he is a very aggressive jungler who can constantly gank the long lane he is next to. Normally gets some form of mana regen to keep on infesting (bottle), red boots at least, then codex if you're having a good game and can blow up squishy supports or puzzlebox for more utility.
6. "Typical" builds are a bit blah. The frostburn split into geos and frostwolf works on most agi carries but its not optimal on many as well. Meele carries there's lots of variation as well. common build is runed axe first into shrunken then start stacking damage, but it depends, some go helm of the black legion into mock, some go insanitarius etc.

seems like it's not too different from DotA then. im just sad cos low MMR means i can't play most INT heroes ): no balanced teamcomp to talk about either.

You can play Lich/Plague rider. Scrubs can't deal with the constant denying and don't know when to back out to avoid getting gibbed by his first skill and ult.

just denying one lane doesnt give me enough of an edge to get like 90% winrate. i literally denied like 90% of this deadwood's farm at mid (he only got creeps when he had his axe-throw thingy up) with monarch but got crushed by the str/agi melee carry spam from opponents later on. granted, my teammates were retarded that game, but i would much rather just carry myself than have to hope for a decent team.
edit: i do play support (or my friend does) when we both play together though.

if you want to carry yourself you might want to play a carry or maybe some good int heroes like hag/Repulsor

You are doing something wrong. What a well played pr does in pubs is give ff to the carry or free kills to the ganker he's laning with. Once the retard you're laning with has enough levels you are free to roam and get some ragequits or crush your lane and get some ragequits.
Winning mid in low level games means nothing unless you are playing a hero that can roam and make other lanes rage. Denying DW serves no purpose at all since your retards will get snared and falcon punched.

At lower MMRs, if you're for sure better than the people you're playing with, you're better off just carrying every single game until you get to your proper rating bracket. Just pick a tanky carry like Amun Ra or something and you'll definitely win a majority of your games until you start getting matched against decent people.

New patch is up with some interesting changes to the RAP system
"Just to recap key points and for you TL;DR folks:
* New RAP interface
* 15 silver coin deposit for new report
o 100% refund if the player gets suspended
* Increased transparency

Basically you will have to deposit 15 silver coins to make a report. If the one you report isnt found guilty, you lose your 15 silver coins and gain 1 infraction points. If you get three infraction points in a row you will be banned by the RAP system for 3 months.
I think its the way to go, weed out some of the hopeless reports, and actually knowing that people get banned when you report them will help. I do feel that they should add a small bonus, like 5 silver coints extra if the guy is being found guilty.

Man, they actually listened to my suggestion of releasing case judgments. Still, it's only to the person who reported it and not completely public, but that's better than nothing.
I also think that they should reward successful reports with silver rather than just refund the deposit. Give the person 5-10 silver for doing the work of finding time stamps and writing it up. That would encourage people to report bad players rather than simply punishing people who abuse RAP. This half-measure reform just deals with their issue of having too many reports (He's wrong: throwing more GMs at it would solve the problem he's describing) and does little to encourage people who would otherwise not bother reporting bad players. There's really no incentive to report -- especially when you know how lenient the punishments are.
Edit: Oh, and this doesn't really matter because of Dota2. -_-

shiva's is an extra 300? dmg in aoe and a slow, only noobs go mok ra. Get hotbl and headress and red boots, then get a port key then post haste and it's pretty gg when they have low hp heroes on their team, i usually end it with a shiva's and heart. I swear it's legit. Your 2nd skill as ra and blink = hella dmg into a slow, with post haste and your 1st ability you can run or further engage them to kill.

Just grab a friend and lane monarch ra together to 1800, that combo has never lost a game in my experience with monarchs silence into raaaaaaaaaaaa stun, insta win the lane and proceed to snowball
