damn.. i swear half this thread is pointless arguments. who care what paper thinks about cats and vice versa?
it's been pointed out so many times, TL.NET DOTA != PRO DOTA. don't expect perfect play, im sure most people enjoy it, and if you cant because you die so many times and get mad at the "worse" players, what's the point? try out some leagues, join a competitive clan, and see how you can do in the environment that you "want" to play in.
I honestly don't have much to say here because i havent played too many games with cats or paper, but from the very few that i have played, i can say cats > paper. i have to agree he farms a lot and always chooses carries but is there a problem in that? someone does have to carry after all, if he wants to practice it why not let him.
after playing only one game with paper, i'm not sure if he does unorthodox builds all the time or not, but midas on zeus... nah.
and 1v1 determines a lot more than you think. i know dota is a team game and all, but 1v1 does test your lane control skills, way beyond the simple last hitting and denying. tests hella mechanics of the game: harassing, pulling, blocking, multitasking (chicken deliveries ;D), etc..
if you're saying cats is so bad at farming, then why not just go 1v1 and see if you can outfarm him or not? not saying that he can because i don't really know anything, but unless i see improved gameplay from you... or your excuseless "real" gameplay, i'm gonna have to go against you on this one. sorry, it's just my real opinion, and im not intending to create flames.
sometimes, you just have to get past what you read and write on here and show it consistently in what you consider to be "low-level" games.

LOL you think going midas on zeus was serious? no fucking shit i was screwing around. give me mid solo and my battle zeus would've been worked out fine LOL. i do the same shit when i random cm? midas bots lothars butterfly. the only reason why i wasn't able to keep up that game was because my lane partner was unreliable as hell early-game. let me host with mid solo and give me a decent team. i'll win every game.

also, you'd do well in statistics, basing your entire judgment on one event
yes, 1v1 does make a difference, GIVEN that there are eight other players in the game, making map awareness, i don't know, somewhat RELEVANT? seriously, last hitting is important, but that's not all 1v1 in a 10-player game entails.
can i get some real arguments here?

I think you're missing the point. 1v1 tests a LOT more than lasthitting and denying. It's kind of a test of your micro, and how well you know your range, their range, fog, creep aggro, etc. You might argue that it doesn't matter unless in a real game, but it really does. You don't gank for fun at low levels, you gank to help that lane, and the difference between dominating a lane and being dominated affects your entire team. Even if they have horrible map awareness, they can still rape you and force you to call for help, making whatever lane that has to gank for you weaker at the same time.

Fuck that. I have to find it through google. Which lead me to a post saying "look at bottom right corner of this site." Which is where I assume it was before. And another post telling me to go to the old server. Which we apparently migrated from. SO GOOGLE IT! DO NOT QUESTION THE GOOGLE.
