However, what I do find amusing, in Pub games, is whe you push into enemy base, and then procedd to go to mid and side towers to kill. The pubs scream backdoor, when it is clearly not. Once you get into the base (with crep support), you can kill whatever you want, untill you leave the base.

It's the principal of the thing. + if it goes to late game and you don't have linkenz, naga BD can be very annoying. SLEEP RAX KILL ROFL TP + if it goes to late game, an intelligence based team is severely underpowered against BD style play. Whereas fast heros or wind walking agility have a huge advantage. There are reasons for it, and there are reasons against it. I am against for the most part though I will sympathize with it at times.

A single backdoorer really doesn't present the problem of being imbalanced; 2, at most 3 portals should stop him easily. Considering that a backdoorer probably won't survive if he's unsupported and the opponent carries portals (I mean, we all do, right?!), it typically isn't easy to do anyways. It can be trickier to kill the backdoorer if he's an invi user or blinker, but that also means that he can probably be stopped (read: scared away) by 1 disabler portaling in. If backdoor becomes a serious threat to your rax, a couple of obs wards will do nicely. 4 people waiting up the ramp can seriously fuck up a backdoor. If you won't/can't spend the couple hundred gold though, I can see why backdoor can seem imba. Spell-based heroes are stronger in early-mid game, and weaker in late-game compared to physical attack based heroes, and this includes tower-pushing (and by extension, backdooring). This is common knowledge and should be taken into account while building your lineup. All that said, I know TL dota ignores most of these considerations, and so backdoor can become a very strong strategy. Fixing it through an artificial restriction, though, also keeps people from learning how to deal with it. P.S. That's not to say that the host shouldn't decide the rules. If it's your house, you get to set the house rules. Common sense.

Consider also that KOTL's ult is awesome for counterpushing while defending. Seriously, now that's fucking imba: defend and push at the same time!

Backdoor play actually favours a player like me because I am very often a speedy DPSer who out CS's everyone by over 9000 CS. By allowing it I would be giving myself another advantage. But I think it's fairly gay and I'd dislike sneaking in with clinkz and destroying someones base while they're all pushing mid so I'd rather keep away from it. The second they TP I just sit around, kill their jungle, run back to their base... and repeat. I agree with the -10% rule on towers. Also: BD doesn't necessarily make games quicker. (An excuse given for why they BD). I've had instances where it most definitely has prolonged games by over 20 minutes due to the constant skirmish back and forth play where no team can really move due to fear of BD. So they sit around, ward up, then afterwards they can't gain any ground. There's pros and cons. But again, i'll just stick to house rules.

It really isn't hard to stop backdoor. There are certain (rare!) cases where it's actually the perfect strategy, and hard to stop, but those are usually only when the opponent opens himself up to it (not carrying portals, not planting wards, refusing to respond to it to push another side (but being too weak to push it anyways), etc). This stuff is imba until you learn how to deal with it, and once you do learn how to deal with it, you rarely see it any more because its so easy to stop (4 pool anyone?). The cases when one guy can ignore 5 guys pounding on him to break down several towers and start going after raxes are cases where the guy should turn around and kill everyone by himself and should have actually ended the game a long time ago. The backdooring isn't the issue here, it's one overfarmed dude not knowing when to fight.

So continuing with this, the team suffering from the BDing clinkz must stick together at all times, because they cannot fight him alone and die fairly quickly. This basically completely nullifies their entire offense until they deal with him. And they cannot sit around all game waiting to kill a clinkz they do not even know is there due to his ward killing abilities. Thus letting the other team farm at will while they completely stagnate. Whereas if the rule was banned they could push in peace win or lose a team fight: rather than BoT every time neither team getting a kill as they move from base, watch him run, then repeat the process. I think it to be very appropriate & the right decision to ban them in our games due to varying skills of players. While other games may not need the rule, in our games I think it's a good rule that makes the game more fun and more epic. I really just think it is the right decision to keep it banned in our games. Remember, we all pretty much -random which gives our games some wacky ass lineups and players have varying skills. With chosen tier 1 lineups it's obviously much easier to stop as it's usually never even a remotely a threat in those types of games.
