Afaik a skill doesn't have to be listed as an orb effect to override an orb effect. When you have an orb effect with a ranged attacks the look of the projectile is changed most of the time. Like with Skadi you get a sparkly icey thing and life steal turns your projectiles into tiny boomerangs. And since Clinkz' Searing Arrows modify your attack animation, most orbs won't work with it. I'm not sure how this works with Maelstorm or Mjollnir though, maybe the Searing Arrows animation is discarded on the shots that proc a chain lightning or something, idk. That's why you won't see a Silencer with Skadi or a Traxex with Desolator. | ||

Meh, I don't wanna play Deva's Advocate, but Hotd is probably one of the coolest items in terms of "bang for your buck". And ofc there's no such thing as best item. But there is such thing as best item for <insert specific hero here>. Like dagger on ES or 3 skadis on Qop. | ||

The only thing that works with searing arrows is skadi's slow (because it's not an orb effect for ranged units). If you have any orb effect, then you can switch to searing arrows by using auto-cast. I always had this idea that it would be awesome if there was a hero named atlas and his only ability was to pick up the fountain and physically move it around. The catch is he can only attack when he puts the fountain down on the ground which would require a cooldown time. Str hero lots of hp etc... when he gained levels the fountain would change in damage etc and the fountain would have a lot less hp. If it was destroyed he could rebuild it after some time. So yeah...mirror mode would be played a lot more I think. I guess the dota equivalent of a siege tank? | ||

perfect offense and defense :3 the mode of choice should be apdu, where each side is limited to one of the same hero, so if sentinel picks, e.g., qop, scourge can pick her too if the team wants | ||
