Any suggestions on a relatively easy champ to pick up the game with? I need to learn how to deny and lane properly. Plague rider and witch slayer are both really strong and relatively easy heroes to play. Only downside is that they can be kind of squishy but as long as you dont position yourself badly you'll be fine. Call them heroes, not champions he... did? Plague Rider is definitely the easiest hero to learn, and is rather strong at all levels of play. (Lineup dependent at higher levels). It teaches you just how powerful denies can be, has an excellent animation, and is probably the least farm dependent hero in the game. Witch Slayer is a lot harder to learn than people think. He's really squishy, slow (295 ms), and his stun is something of a skillshot ( clicking on the hero has 500 range while it really has 850 if you click on the ground... but then you'll miss without a lot of practice). His animation is also awful. Some other easy heroes to learn : blacksmith, hammerstorm, electrician, slither. I found moon queen really easy when starting but some people would disagree. (Her and swiftblade are probably the easiest carries, but the issue is that mq has a rough time laning vs long range heroes and swiftblade needs a decent lane partner to do well. The issue really is that trying to carry at such a low level is a little silly). WtffffFfffffFFffffFFFFFFFFFFF You didn't know this? Makes him much much stronger. It always goes to max range too, unlike magmus (so if you click on the ground like right in front of yourself it still goes out 700 units). I was actually wrong on the numbers, it's 500 cast range vs 700 stun range (500 aoe all levels). It's still a tremendous length, at level 1 he has the stun range of a level 7 magmus. Only 1.02 second stun, but still good (tooltip lies, the thrown in the air now counts as part of the stun and that lasts .52 seconds).
This mostly matters in laning when chasing people, if you are within 625 units of someone you can generally stun them, and if they are on the other side of the lane and you run diagonally at them while they run straight it's possible to do a diagonal stun and hit them despite moving slower (rare and extremely hard to pull off, I look pretty silly a lot when it happens).

Big agree on Moon Queen. Practice those last hits, spam Q then ulti and you win

I thought it was max range however you targeted. As you can see I never play witch

No idea, I've never played Lion. Not my kind of hero, nor Pollywog. Anyone with too many abilities fucks me up. I miss the old Nai'x D:

Moon queen is a good choice. I would also like to recommend Armadon (tanky + good dmg), Madman (stealth escape mechanism ftw), and Pyro as good starting choices.

actually i would argue that pr has awful attack animation. its on par with like a glacius/pyro kinda animation, ur not going to get the last hit vs most heroes if you are atking for any kind of range. (granted the other hero doesn't suck.)

Congratulations to TL members for winning the LN tournament.
It was a low-mid level tournament but none the less a tournament won.

I think plague's animation is quite good, certainly not the best but not bad by a long shot compared to plenty of other heros. He's got decent damage too.

It was a low-mid level tournament but none the less a tournament won. Good work. Winning tournies, thread exploding with new posters, JeeJee banned: a fine time indeed.
Edit: I also suggest that new players try Plague Rider (PR) first. He's a relatively simple hero and he's very useful. Always buy a monkey courier at the start of the game, even if your team is too bad to use it right away, and get some health regen. Go into lane and q+auto attack your way to victory.
