A typical creep gets you what, like 40 gold?
And your default gold rate is 79-80gpm right?

So every time you miss a lasthit, you delay your items by 30 seconds. Think about it.

If you get 80 gpm by default, it would take you 2 minutes to get an item that costs 160g. If you get 1 last hit, for 40g, now it only takes you 90s (40 from creep, 120 from gp/s gold), if you got 2 last hits, it would take you 60s (80 from creep, 80 from gp/s), etc. So each creep reduces the time that it takes to get your item by 30s, so a missed creep "adds" 30s.

I used round numbers to keep it simple, but the logic applies to any price.

This is assuming everything else stays equal of course. I.e. you went for a lasthit expecting to get it, and you missed it. Not the lasthits you miss because you left your lane to plant a ward, or gank another lane, or decided at the last moment to stun the enemy hero cause an opportunity showed itself, etc.. Don't be silly.

I feel like you're forgetting to take into account creep respawn time
Mathematically it seems correct, assuming a constant stream of creeps

It's probably more accurate to say that for every last hit you get, you decrease the amount of time needed to get an item by around 30 seconds as opposed to delaying your item for every missed last hit.

None of that is accurate at all. Just say last hitting is good, missing is bad. If that was true then 75 ck at 15 minutes would mean you got your item at -15 minutes.

it is true although the rates can be argued and the gold gained from other things and also just from natural gold rate

its just how people word it, 15 minutes faster means 15 minutes than if you didnt. meaning the amount of time it takes to get the gold equivalent to (75 creep kills - [total "free" gold in the time to get to 75 creep kills])

then you cant say itll always delay your items by 30 seconds, its a crappy assumption to say itll always delay by 30 seconds because there are a number of ways to get gold and lose gold, a limited situation doesnt expand without other factors

Nobody said you would get it at -15 minutes, people are saying you would get it at X minutes prior to where you would get it if you just relied on gold tick without last hitting.


For example:

Facts/Assumptions:
a) 8g/7seconds [Standard gold tick]
b) 43g/melee creep, 48g/ranged creep, 73/catapult; 21 melee per 210 seconds, 7 ranged per 210, 1 catapult per 210 =>45g/creep average.
c) Starting gold of 603 for a picked hero.
d) Dagon 1 = 2805g
e) No kills/towers/roshan
f) You save straight up for that dagon

Without last hitting, it would take 1927 seconds to gain the required gold for a Dagon 1. Last hitting one creep would reduce that time to 1888 seconds, a reduction of 39 seconds.

Ok so I've played with bad BRs before but I just had the most hilarious game of my life with a BR.

I'm queuing up with 2, and we get in. I random Aluna, I'm like cool I'll go mid.

FUCK YOU. Time for MeNoS`1`Akii, officer of clan LEAGUE OF BRAZIL (not emphasis, the name is all caps), to pick Bloodhunter. Quick check of those stats, alright, he's got 1500 games, a 50% winrate, and 40% motherfucking Bloodhunter played, maybe he won't be TOO bad.

Who the fuck am I kidding? First I get firstblooded bottom in my aluna valk lane by a behemoth blacksmith while my valk misses her arrow on 2 melee guys hitting a stationary double stunned me (no, they didn't move at all). So that's ok. The valk dies before I get back to lane. Ok now we're down 0-2 against blacksmith behe. Well, we claw our way back in, it's not TOO difficult; bs/behe is actually pretty strong in the sense that while we can harass them they have double our HP combined and cannot be killed in a straight up fight. They also got firstblood + another kill before I had a single creep XP so that helped.

Anyways their team is amun ra, behe, blacksmith, devourer, and plague rider. 100% magic right? No fucking problem, BH comes around and grabs a bunch of hero kills by ulting people at 100 hp while we've got 3 people hitting them. Oh, I sniped someone 1000 range away with my power throw? Time to spam votes to kick Aluna, spam KSKSKSKSKS and then say ME AFK about a thousand times before going to jungle for awhile.

20 minutes later, time for a naked mock (radiance). That's nice, 900 hp and a mock against a team of all melee str casters and a plague. Dies in every single fight in about 1/2 a second, but always manages to silence devo after his ult and hook have already gone out (EVERY fight). 400 damage Devo with 3k hp lumbering around with rot on raping everyone's face.

By this time the BH has called about 100 votes to kick various members of our team. He spammed me for about 2 minutes straight demanding I buy wards and upgrade the courier when I'd already done it (and I shouldn't really have had to). Our Brown myrmidon player, who is 380-450 and 1550 (another match where the MM algorithm matches us with a brown person 250 MMR under me, and I'm not even pink this game), has been spamming all chat all game about how awful everyone is and how HON is always won by the team that gets the fewest horrible players (he is level 9 35 minutes in).

BH goes ahead and buys a blademail with his 900 hp boots radiance, so now when he gets instagibbed by 4 pks he can blademail and deal 900 hp back to those guys with triple his hp. Then he walks out and gets killed instantly right after I power threw twice over the entire opponent team sitting in the woods to his left.

I was in too much shock/awe to really get angry at this game. It was my first time with a SUPER BRAZILIAN that everyone on the forums complains about. My experiences are limited with these ultra stereotypes; this guy was a living caricature and he wasn't even trolling. Personally, I've only met the ultra bad Australians and Thais.

This guy was 1800, by the way, although it took him 1500 games (40% BH - 600 games of BH) to get there. So don't lose hope guys under 1800. Maybe one day you can also be like MeNoS`1`Akii of clan LEAGUE OF BRAZIL and reach that 1800 mark.

It's 1 gold per second, 60 gpm. And gold loss on death would alter this a lot.

Wait, is it really 8gper 7 seconds? Wild, I never knew.
