I know several players that simply go in to cr.short after the mk dash on block and hit just to keep pressure and mixup.Rufus' lk hp link isnt too too hard. And you don't necessarily have to do it either. You can go dive kick->st.hp canceled tornado because its safe on block. So no need to really do it there. just more reliable link off dive kick to get the full combo. Sakuras you can link her cr.strong off the lk shunpu. its has better range than the cr.fiercep so you can link it in the blockstring several times over and i think its a 2 frame link in stead of a 1 framer. You can go back and forth between st.short to cr.strong and if your good you can keep that blockstring up on any non dp character. Its really strong.
if u watch any abel players it def. doesnt suck balls. sometimes just doing the full combo is betetr than taking a chance and going for mixups.
rufus i dont think is needed but i would recommend learning if u main him.
i mean if you have a main character y not maximize that character's damage and learn useful links

There's a lot more beneficial things to learn about every character than their 1 frame links, >.>
Learning different gimmicks, tricks, ways to counter specific moves on block / whiff, etc will improve your game a ton more than the little extra damage that few people can get down 9/10 times
Damn you persona 3, stealing all my sf4 practice time

Yea i was speeking more in context i guess.. It sucks monkey balls to pull off. The combination of 1 frame+semi long wait between the first and second presses makes it a bitch until you get it in training mode like a billion times. However, it does have enormous damage potential and its a really good combo, its just too unreliable for the lower 90% of players to pull off consistently.

Rufus's lk hp link is very important for him, imo. For one, divekick lk hp hp-tornado does much more damage than the next-easiest meterless option, divekick lk lp-tornado. The hp-tornado also moves them a lot farther towards the corner, where you can juggle with ultra or lp-tornado.
Moreover, lk hp is a frame trap on block: if your opponent attempts a throw tech, a jab, etc. after blocking the lk, they'll eat the hp and the hp-tornado. So it's important to his mixup game as well.

wouldnt the next easiest option be divekick hp hp-tornado

St.lk, st.hp is a hit confirm starting from a light attack into a combo that gives a knockdown without using any meter; being able to do it opens up your offense so much. Next best option would be to use st.lk, st.mp. I believe what Justin Wong does is plink st.hp with st.mp so if he fucks up the st.hp timing he gets st.mp into tornado (which is why you see him do st.lk, st.mp into tornado sometimes in his vids).

^ the good Rufus players also throws another lk if first lk is blocked. if the opposing player blocks the first lk, they'll most likely guess tech and consequently get hit by that 2nd lk. of course, it leads to a hit confirm resulting in a fat combo.

next character reveal for SSF4 comes this week, a teaser screen was released last week for people to guess who's beating up chun-li
most people think it's adon based on the arc.

Ricky Ortiz won the norcal tourney. I play in the same arcade as he does, and I don't think I've seen him play Rufus like that. He's probably sandbagging it when he plays against us. lol
I thought he switched his main to Chun, but after that performance I don't see why he would.

I just bought the game, are there any good places/websites/videos to start up as a beginner to SF4? Im coming from Tekken, however, Ill wait till they fix the network problems before even trying to buy that game. Im also surprised at the lack of depth within the street fighter series in terms of moveset + movement in comparison to Tekken which is more fast paced with a lot of movement, I played it as a kid but I didnt know it was this much simpler, but I guess im still a newbie, so can anyone help me into getting into this game and starting up.
