edit: I was expecting some type of unique, quirky but awesome blizzard art-style, but this straight-up looks out-sourced to a mediocre phone game developer company who were just told to slap Blizzard IP skins on generic models for a quick buck.

I'm sure it'll be a hit in China though.

IIRC I changed my app store to Australia to get Pokemon Go earlier back in the day, so shouldn't be much of a problem if that is still possible ![]() Yes it will be a cash grab, but I find that games can be both pay 2 win and still fun to play, without spending money. We'll see how this one works out.

EDIT: https://www.gamerbraves.com/warcraft-arclight-rumble-announced-for-mobile-a-new-rts-with-no-gacha/ Another notable aspect of the game is that the developers have confirmed that there are no NFT or gacha mechanics in the game. If you want a certain character you can simply purchase that one character using either real-world money or in-game currency earnt in through battle. For those that are skeptical of the more lighthearted premise, the game promises an authentic Warcraft experience created by a team with deep roots in the franchise. Everywhere you look, there will be references and game elements directly inspired by beloved characters, locations, and events from the Warcraft PC strategy games and World of Warcraft. Remains to be seen if this is actually true

We'll see how this one works out. This is mostly how I feel too. I played SWGOH for 2 years and with good planning it was generally possible to keep up with the whales. Sure, some metas were harder than others, and getting top damage in raids was generally impossible, but I had fun and could compete. On the other hand, games like State of Survival and LotR: Rise to War got old fast when whales stomped the shit out of you. You had to get lucky with the server (and in RtW, faction) you rolled in to hope the whales were reasonable. I played other games like Boom Beach (Clash of the Clans clone) that was fun regardless of spending, and RAID: Shadow Legend that was about as fun as watching paint dry regardless of spending. The main draw will be the mechanics and that it has the warcraft feel to it. We'll see how they do at that, but it having P2W mechanics doesn't necessarily mean P2have fun.

It sucks you in as fun lane strategy game, but then as soon as your PvP rank hits gold, levels and abilities become active(pay money to get them or grind it like a job) and it's total p2w garbage. Even the single player gets levelgated. Interesting. The opinions I saw online seemed to think it was f2p friendly. But I don't think they progressed as far as you did. Here is someone evaluating the packs you can spend on, and it doesn't seem like there is anything super essentially p2w there. I guess if there's a leader that is super hard to get otherwise, like Sylvanas, and that leader is super powerful, then you need to buy that to progress in PvP?
