If you don't know what GunZ: The Duel is, the best game I can compare it to is Super Smash Bros. Melee, if it was a third person shooter instead of a platform fighter. Or maybe Fortnite if it was made by a Korean developer in 2005.
The game was most infamous for its crazy movement that was a result of dozens of bugs and glitches with the game's engine. They called it K-style because Korean players discovered it first when the game was in beta, and named it after themselves. Most of it involved sword slashes and weapon switches to cancel other animations, allowing you to move really quickly -- do stuff like bounce off of walls and fly through the air. The creation of this game can only be described as catching lightning in a bottle. A complete accident that worked out in the end.
Here's one of my favorite GunZ montages:
Anyways, does anyone here still actively play GunZ? I know MAIET went out of business back in 2015, and it's only really available on private servers now. If you don't play it anymore, what are you up to nowadays? If you still play, what pservers are you on?
I'm sure there's bound to be some oldies around here who remember GunZ
