It would have been fine if it was one generic story or 8 interesting disconnected stories actually, but combining both disconnected and generic-as-fuck is a bit too much.

I definitely got burnt out real quick. I just hit the 700 moon mark, and I'm actually really enjoying the process. For me, I'm running through the game in 3 cycles: 1. Normal playthrough, beat bowser, see those metal cubes launch; 2. Play through each kingdom again, opening the cubes and legitimately exploring and trying to find as many hidden moons as possible; 3. Go back through one final time and collect the remaining hidden moons (I'll have ~60 left once I'm done with cycle 2), buy until 999 moons, collect all purple coins, and buy all hats, costumes, and purple items. I'm halfway done with the second run through, and the fact that the kingdoms open up after Bowser's defeat incentivizes me to go back and look deeper at everything. I'm really enjoying it ![]() The biggest disappointment for me is that Cloud Kingdom and Ruined Kingdom are each like 2% of a legitimate level. Not sure why they didn't become full levels and have the game fill out at 1000 hidden power moons. Edit: BotW will probably be my entire August.

Hard mode, an addon to the map that tracks your movement on the world make, a bunch of armor pieces from previous games, like Majora's Mask(the mask), an OOT Ganondorf outfit, a trial scenario like in TP to improve the Master Sword's power(and make it unbreakable?), more story, another dungeon, and some other stuff I don't want to spoil.

I'd recommend checking this link out since it's a bit more detailed https://www.zelda.com/breath-of-the-wild/expansion-pass

It had a charge that when depleted meant the sword wasn't very good, but it didn't disappear just needed to wait for it to recharge. Not sure what got changed in the DLC, but would be weird if it was suddenly breakable.

I should've been clearer in that department.

Anyways, should I wait to “beat” (defeat calamity ganon) the game before I purchase the dlc? I’m currently taking my time but I’m already 3 divine beasts in and 80ish shrines. I’m currently farming guardians and lynels to get mats to upgrade my champion/guardian set. My plan is to basically just beat all 4 divine beasts then calamity ganon. Then mop up side quests and make my town on a leisurely schedule.

If you haven't already, I encourage you to check Ys VIII then! A bunch of people washed ashore on a deserted island trying their hardest to even survive, seems like a good reason to collaborate. The "castaway" village is slowly building as the story progresses / you're getting new villagers, there's obviously no money so you have to trade everything, etc. I think it works really well!

So I’m guessing the dlc trial makes it so that it’s always “activated”. Anyways, should I wait to “beat” (defeat calamity ganon) the game before I purchase the dlc? I'd personally suggest people buy the DLC ASAP. Especially if you intend on getting all the Korok seeds.

I will note that doing everything before Ganon will lead to a pretty underwhelming end boss. I did all the shrines and most of the side quests (this was before DLC) and while getting to Ganon was a challenge the boss fight itself was a bit of a letdown. Pretty sure I got him on my first attempt. Seemed like he was tuned for players who would rush him after getting the Master Sword.
