I didn't see a thread anywhere which was surprising, with all the hype from Pokemon GO and me having a shitty phone, I happened to stumble upon this gem. Pokemon Revolution Online, it is actually really sweet. Some cool graphics and nice layout / UI compared to previous pokemon games that I played as a kid. There is a ladder / PvP / The world is well designed and I am having a blast on it right now, I guess it is in Beta (not completely sure as I'm new) , but check this out. This game RULES! Especially if you can't Pokemon GO at the moment

Thanks for the post, I'm enjoying it so far. Although since they're making real money off of it via the skins, I'm a little unsure how they don't get sued by Nintendo lol

This is a cool game but if it gets past a certain point it's pretty much guaranteed to get cease-and-desisted.

Not sure I'm game to sink too much time into it.

belisarius is right, this isn't a project that will last long. Nintendo protects their IP's more than any other game company would.

I'm sure it will be taken down at some point but it's still fun to play. There's a lot of stuff to do and it's a lot like playing the original. It's more fun to play considering you're not alone

That said, the game is really freaking hard at points. Millions of people are farming Victory Road as I type this since they can't touch the Elite Four

Made an account and tried this last night. After taking like 20 minutes to log into Yellow server due to queues! I started and i was enjoying it, good graphics, standard pokemon, lots of stuff happening. Original Pokemon and Gen 2 pokemon, standard gym orders and map layouts just on a bigger scale was fun. Was not easy too, my Squirtle was getting pummeled by everything until i got to Brock, but i did grind a bit of levels before i went to him. Now im level 18 and in Mt Moon heading to Misty and doing fine, but the damage is still big that you get hit by, i make sure i keep a fair few potions on me so i don't die.

Going to see how long i can play it before i really get bored but at the moment it seems a fun game for me to play during the week as i don't get in from work until late and i only really have a couple of hours before im off to sleep.

Im getting rekt, i was eventually out of mount moon after wiping like 3 times due to poison ticks are so huge it seems from a grimer sludging me from the pokemon maniac. After doing that i then ground out to bills house got to i think level 24, went to Misty thinking yeah i got this, water vs water im going to be vastly over leveled here, 1 shot poliwag, 2 shot horsea, get to Starmie....Starmie casts Pyshock, its super effective. What is this!!! Why is misty using Electric attacks

So now im going to either have to level another grass/bug pokemon to have with a huge amount of grinding or ima have to grind my squirtle more so the Pyshock doesn't 2 shot me.
If only i picked Bulbasaur xD

I have around 30 hours and getting ready to break into the Top 4. I really like it so far. Catches the spirit of the old game boy games and puts it into an awesome mmorpg. Always dreamt for something like this when i was a kid

What did you start with Spelhus? Is it just me who is struggling or did you have to grind alot for certain gyms? Did you go all in on starter or have you spread xp around?

Question is also for anyone btw, i am intrigued

If you want a tip, don't evolve your Pokemon until really late game. Evolving them makes it take a lot longer to level them up, which is why you'll see millions of people farming the later areas of the first region. I made that mistake too

I was able to beat the Elite 4 last night, but it was hard O_O

Also I started with Pikachu. He came up big a couple times against the Elite 4 but wasn't too helpful for most of the game as he got one shotted by almost any special attack

@pande: I started with Pikachu and got a decent Nidoran(m) at the starting area. I only used these two for the main battles until the plant arena where I added growlithe.
As mentioned above do not evolve to early because some attacks will not be learned and the xp for level up is increasing.

edit: easy mode for the story: get a slowbro to lvl 80 and it kills the top 4 on it's own

Ahhh thanks for the tips, where you get Pika from :o i only saw the 3 at Oak's house.
Yeah i was gonna use the speedrun strats of getting a nidoran and evolving it like they do on speedruns but didn't. Hmm guess its grindtime

Pika is in the 4th pokeball in the lab. I highly recommend taking pika because of unique sound and an ash ketchum questline where you even can get his hat!

Ok starting to get triggered with this misty fight, unless i go and grind about 20 levels on a pokemon or i have no chance with this Squirtle i have. I cant leave Cerulean city at all as its blocked but i can go back into Mount Moon but it pointless. I can't trade yet either and Pyshock has like unlimited PP the fuck T_T
Pretty much can't get any further unless i spend about 10 hours grinding levels to get my spears and jigglypuff up to 20 xD

Yeah i restarted last night on blue server with Pika and got myself a nidoran and doing good old fashioned speedrun strats xD
Getting the Horsea from viridian forest side quest / cave thing was how i beat brock. Now im leveling Pika and Nidoran side by side until after Misty, then i might just go all in on Nidoking.

Why do people use nidoran to speedrun?

I'm obviously just stupid but it doesn't seem that interesting to me.

Cause he's really easy to get. You can do it with Squirtle but you need really good stats on Squirtle while pretty much any Nidoran will do. Horn attack carries you early, thrash is an insanely good move and he gets Fissure later on, which one shots anything after you use an X-accuracy.

It doesn't, I was talking about why they use Nidoran in R/B/Y. I doubt anyone speed runs PRO and I can't imagine the same strat would work

I get Nidoran as he is strong in Kanto region. Nidoking can pretty much learn every useful move in the game. At the moment i am 4 badges in about to take on Rocket in Sliph Co part of story and i have just relied on Nidoking and Pikachu the whole time.

I was a bit sad when I realized that my entire team of level 80+ pokemon was pretty much useless because Gengar 1-shot everything.

The AI still needs some work but it's pretty funny when it spams Haze against Pidgey or Earthquake against Gengar.

Lol he all killed my team with that Pikachu. And he has like 4 other Pokemon for the fight, and I have no idea who they are. They were mean to make you fight him right after a gym

Yeah that was a bit funny, there wasn't as far as i could see either a patch notes to said update either? All i know is that i instantly logged into blue server at 18:00cest which has been unheard of the whole time i have been playing. So if they were expanding servers :D

You can do a "/who" to see how many spots are on the server. I did that on the Yellow server last night and the capacity was still the same (1800). My guess is that having the manually upgrade the client probably lowers the amount of players for a bit after each update.

I am really enjoying the game now, killed the 5 dudes on bridge and now trying to figure out how to get my Bike after killing everything in the S S Ann and giving the captain that berry lol, I am using Gyrados, Pikachu, Arbok, and a few others, really enjoying it and realizing how difficult this game can be especially in PvP, it has really made me fall in love with Pokemon again! =)

Guys, this game is amazing. Really surprised more people aren't talking about this still.

Right now I have been grinding hard and I have all level 30's and going to the 5th Gym. There is tons of gameplay, players, PvP, tons of new pokemon, trading, and more. We need to get this more mainstream on TL!

Right now my setup is

Dugtrio, Garydos, Pikachu (My starter pokemon choice), Poliwhirl, Psyduck, and Sandslash. PM me if you need help or anything!
