Would there really be a discount that soon?

Civ BE had a similar schedule, i got it for 50% after christmas.

Wasn't that marked as a mistake on steam, though? Or was that G&K? One of them was discounted far earlier than they intended in the Xmas Steam sale.

I got it on a physical store, but it was post-christmas. Dunno how big the discount on BE was, but i remember that i wasn't saving much, but wanted the box.

what's this??

happiness drove me nuts. i get why it is in, but it probably should have been implemented better. empires being so small was always so weird to me.

Really, every change they've made to the game looks like an improvement to Civ 5, and looks like they'll add more variations to the way you can play. Extremely psyched for this.

I also like the way it looks. People complaining about graphics seem to be unfamiliar with Sid Meier's/Firaxis games, such as Pirates and XCOM:EU. They've never aimed for realism, but always go for a pleasing stylistic balance.

Yeah, I like what they are doing with the civics system. One of my concerns is that they are adding a new resource in every civ. We started out with production, gold and food. Now we have culture, science and faith on top of it. It looks like appeal is the new tourism points, though it doesn't seem to be a resource. I like how culture and faith are getting more fleshed out as resources. Just don't think we need more.

I think the big Civ BE sale was a reaction to how poorly received it was. My guess is that Civ VI might have a 10-15% discount in late December, but probably not more than that.

So I don't get the point of the Arabia special ability. If you are going religion, won't you get a great prophet early anyway? Is there any real upside to building your holy sites later? It seems odd. I mean, I guess the idea is you focus on science early? I dunno.

hopefully they don't have the hilarious animation clipping that XCOM EU have -- which I am pretty certain they won't this time around

but hey I've gotten 600 - 700 hours in Long War so those kinds of things don't really bother me, neither will the "cartoon" artstyle of Civ VI

Meh. It's just recycled from the Shohshone in Civ 5. They also have the Kossack again. Seems quite uninspired in comparison to some of the other civs' abilities. Doesn't mean it's bad (Shoshone are quite OP in early game), just not as interesting as some others.

I like the Cossacks for Russia. Was wondering why we had so few horse based UUs so far compared to earlier games. I'm thinking of using a civ with more vanilla bonuses for my first game. So far, it's either Rome or China. Russia looks like it could be a contender for that.

I've watched TotalBiscuit's video with thoughts regarding Civ 6 and he makes a good point for this being a vanilla buy because of how much the districts change the dynamic of the game compared to before.

I pretty much agree with him but am now torn between buying this at launch or waiting for a winter discount...

So anyone knows what's the plan regarding multiplayer? Are they gonna use some form of simultaneous turn? I saw some guys play simult Civ V in twitch. Waiting for 7+ players to finish their turns in line can't possibly be the way to go.

Well, for Civ V you could play with simult turns so they probably won't remove that. As you mentioned, the more players you have, the more necessary that option is.
