Sucks that whenever I switch that's when my team ends up actually killing the thing I couldn't handle and then we're 2 hanzos and 1 widowmaker and their bastion switched to something else and I'm useless phara's good too but more important is an overall well balanced comp and making friends so add ppl you really like and you are good to go I have a number of ppl i really like to play with from beta already You're lucky, I hate people and everything they like.

Bastion players are slowly learning to not keep fireing if a Genji jumps into their line of sight. Still love to just Diva pounce Bastions the most.

Funniest moment I have had in a game so far happened while defending point B on Hanamura. The entire enemy team was pushing over the bridge right down the middle. Their Bastion went into turret mode, and then I jumped in front of him as Genji with Deflect. At the same time, a McCree on my team game around the back, and the result was that we all-killed their entire team. So good.
Second funniest moment was having two enemy Pharah's ult me at the same time, and I deflected all of their rockets back into their faces, killing them.

I want them to gvie him a deadzone while in turret mode;
if you flank him from behind he should not be able to rotate 360

I just nearly got 6 kills as Tracer, they had the 5 team in a clump behind Bastion with Reinhart in front, Mercy and some other people out back. I sneaked behind them and I dropped my bomb in the middle of it and got 4 kills and then finished off Reinhart before getting rekt by Genji who was just being that looming threat as Genji does.
Q of the game y'all.
|
Does the game no longer save your highlights or am I just failing to find them?
Also getting bombed by Tracer as Pharah when standing in the middle of your team, then taking air and only getting yourself killed feels good.
|
I hope they dont change Bastion. Hes completely fine. He only has 300 health with a really big hitbox. Remember back then he actually had a mini Reinhardt shield.
Bastion dies to almost anything long range: soldier 76, widow, pharah. In close range: Genji can reflect, junkrat can LOS bomb, reindhart can charge him, roadhog can hook him. And this is just off the top of my head.
And bastion dies to almost any ult when hes in turret mode.

The problem I have with this game is that I find it hard to get any type of satisfaciton in any situations. Aside from all of the boring low-skill heroes, I don't even have that much fun with the higher skillcap playmakers.
If we compare it to a MOBA, whenever you make a big play the reward/effect/consequence is immediately apparent for anyone on the team. On the other hand, OW is FPS, it has no minimap and unlike in CS:GO everyone just respawns all the time making it vey non-obvious to identify what your teammates are doing.
And the core interactions - for the most - part just aren't that fun. Running around and shooting people is something I found boring in Call of Duty-games, and casting "easy-to-use" abilities is boring in a MOBA as well.
Further, the game "dueling"-element of the game doesn't appeal to me. I played the beta of Paladins recently, and in that game it felt like you had tons of 1v1/2v2 duels where you constantly reacted to what the opponent was doing, which was very fun. Whereas in OW, it's often just over in 1 or 2 seconds, and that kinda feels boring.
Obviously that also occurs in CS:GO, but aiming is really fun in that game, and in CS:GO its very easy to identify gameplay-mistakes and work on making sure the same errors are not repeated.

So I just don't think this is my type of game at all. As a CSGO player, that's why Overwatch will get old quick for me. It's just a different type of game, you have to enjoy that type of interaction and I don't.

I like CS:GO and MOBAs, and thus expected to also like Overwatch. In MOBA's I had a habit of getting addicted to specific champions/heroes and doing nothing else (in my free time) but spamming the game. But that hasn't been close to occuring in OW, so it's not even a question of longevity.
Also part of the MOBA-experience is knowing the enemy heroes/champions cooldown and timing you engagements in relation to that. But isn't this almost impractical in soloque Overwatch (?). Sure there are specific situations where this is doable, e.g. taking advantage of Roadhug missing a hook, but in general the "MOBA"-feeling isn't there.

The MOBA(for lack of a better word) feeling I get is when Zarya blackholes them then I Roadhog ulti into them. Or something beautiful like Mei ulti into Junkrat RIP tire.
Ofc abilities like HEROES NEVER DIE happens right after and Im like, "well fuck..."

I tried running Overwatch on my laptop and the game doesn't see my high-performance GPU (Radeon), only the shitty integrated Intel card. Any ideas how to force it to use the good GPU? I set the game and B.net app in CCC to use the high-performance card, but it did nothing. I tried googling the issue but there are no answers :I

Probably, but that wasn't the MOBA-appeal for me. The MOBA-appeal for me is the "outplay"-potential and how easy it is for other people to recognize whenever you did something well. That may sounds selffish, but I think that need is a core part of many peoples motivation - even if its not politically correct to admit it.
In games where someone else is carrying (and I am much worse), that motivates me to practice and improve my skills. When there isn't something to look forward too, the game bores me.
Relying on the synergy of random teammates while doing something that's very easy (in itself) is not something that gives me satisfaction. Obviously in a coordinated team-environment its a different discussion.

I think a lot of competetive people will feel the same rather quickly tbh, Overwatch lacks long time motivation for people who wanna feel that mechanical improvement, kinda like HotS did as well. That doesn't mean that the game won't be a success though, the more casual players surely can have fun with it, the game is polished enough and overall the heroes feel fun. Esports i don't see becoming big at all though, i think there is no good way to spectate the gameplay atm and i don't see how that would change either. Sry for the "negativity" but i don't think the wording was too bad in this post ^^

To each his own. Can't say if Overwatch has the potential or not but at least it looks like it has the usual blizzard polish which is always great.
Personally, I've always felt CS of any kind is bland and boring to watch. Quake was much more engaging, gameplay&spectator wise.

i'm on the fence with this game being $60 on console.. but its definitely worth $40 on PC.

i've had this problem in the past and here is what i did.
#1. check the power profile settings. make sure that your power profile is set to "Maximum Performance" and not "Max Power Saving".
after that. here is what i do... "<<Windows Key>> + d " to get to your desktop. i right click on my windows desktop and up comes a right-click menu that includes this option
"configure switchable graphics" this let's me control when my superduper graphics card is used.
i then get a window called "AMD Catalyst Control Centre" then i select teh EXE file of the game that i want to use the super duper graphics card.
from that point on my machine "decides" to use the superduper amazing graphics card. obviously, if you don't have an AMD GPU this won't work.
good luck man.

It's very polished. No question about it.

No ranked in Open Beta?
Also, do the stats achieved in Open Beta get reset when launched?
|
Lots of the heroes are easy to learn but difficult to master. You really get to see certain people shine with different heroes.
I still didn't get the hook, shoot, melee combo with roadhog down yet. But I see players like Seagull do it in one shot everytime.
