That isn't necessarily true. Something as simple as damage values could be managed server side and as a result those changes are trivial to make.
In that sense the SaaS comparison could make sense since Blizzard owns the servers and changes to server side values has zero impact on the code which has to be run on console.
Now skins, and other cosmetic updates, THAT definitely can be delayed by the console patch approval process. But as long as the changes aren't client sided they don't need to worry about patch delays due to console processes.

Legendary skins change your gun aesthetics btw. The Origins Soldier 76 skin in general looks very lame to me, but his gun animation in first person is sick looking.

How many of you preordered, want to give away the friend key? i may be able to figure something out to make it easier to accomplish if you guys want

Aaron Keller answered "the campaign question" in some kind of reddit Q/A during PAX East. he speaks in the passive voice so much he just makes my bullshit alarm go off.. but here is the answer..
P: We still have a lot of people asking about a campaign, and recently saw it answered as something that could be a part of the IP, but not this game at this time. Is there excitement in the idea of future games within the IP incorporating these wishes people have?
Aaron Keller: I think if you would ask anybody on the Overwatch team, we would love to see something like that. I don’t know if it would happen, but we’re so passionate about the game and the universe that something like that would be great. It’s obviously not our focus right now. Our focus right now is finishing this game, and once it's finished, making the live service of it the best it can possibly be. But I’d love it! laughs Maybe some of the redditors could start making it for us.

I don't quite get why anyone would be excited about Blizzard-developed stories anymore. Their work on that front has been C grade at best over the past decade.

It's more that the Overwatch universe is a really cool setting with a ton of potential, which is wasted on storyless PvP.

It's a good setting, just like how Diablo, Starcraft, and Warcraft are good settings. What Blizzard has done with those settings, however, has ranged in quality between warm milk and dumpster fire.

They are creating a story outside of the game. And its all free. I don't see how it can possibly be bad to have lore be so easily accessible and outside of the game.

There's plenty of story in the PvP. listen to the pre-match quips, look at the maps and how they're laid out and what's actually going on in said map. From those scraps, you can cobble together plenty of story by yourself, without it being spoonfed to you by exposition and mission briefs. I like it a lot more.

They're fun stories. They're not award winning but they can be fun.

They could also want to keep the story reasonably limited so that it is easier to expand on them in future games.

I got a preorder code from someone else as where I preordered it didn't give out codes for the early open beta. After the last beta weekend I can't wait to play on the 3rd!

If u are still looking for the early open beta key, u should try to snag one from reddit, its kinda long shot and requires nerves and fast fingers but i was lucky one to be fast enough
