Even without a key you will be able to try it out.
Remember, Open beta for everyone starts the 5th through 9th, the keys just let you start from the 3e instead.

Access problems is usual in open/closed beta? I got a CD Key per email from Blizzard because I pre-ordered it.

Did they say anything about which region to connect to for us EU players during the open beta?
Last stress test weekend Europeans had to connect to Americas.

I have no info but the email says to install the game for whatever region you want so I assume the EU will have their own servers now.
For the stress test it makes sense to throw everyone on a single server to ensure it is actually stressed.

The servers have been closed since like april 25th or something like that, and they'll open back up tonight May 2nd 4PM PDT / 7PM EDT (despite the announced date of May 3rd).
The open beta (read: the floodgates) will open May 4th 4PM PDT / 7PM EDT (despite the announced date of May 5th).
Wouldn't expect to be able to play until a couple hours after the initial deployment, which is probably why they're deploying a couple of hours before the announced dates. No one gets to complain about authentication errors on May 2nd when the beta was supposed to release on May 3rd.
