Watching this drives me crazy.

great choice for a new nickname!

The main diference between DigRat and Flareon is that Eevee was a conscious decision, it was completelly optional and there were a lot of people that didn't want to get it, while DigRat is just what happens in this mode.

Pidgeot can't beat the Elite 4. He can't damage Agatha (ghosts), and half his attacks don't do damage, meaning that repeated Seismic tosses and whatnot will kill him slowly even if he is level 100. And with Swift gone, there's no easy damage options left for him to replace Whirlwind / Sand Attack. Pidgeot has carried us this far, and can carry us for a few more gyms if need be, but he's going to fall off soon.
The good news is that Gastly/Haunter/Gengar/Weezing do not have levitate, meaning ground attacks (Dig) are extra effective against them. But do we really want Digrat with us on something like Victory Road, where even getting past the bushes into the zone is a task in itself...?
Lapras + Hypno are our best options. Lapras naturally learns Ice Beam to 1 shot dragons and other dangerous opponents, and can actually learn Surf. Hypno has Headbutt and Psychic which are strong enough attacks to handle most things, provided he's at a high enough level. Lapras handles Blaine, Giovanni, and Lance; Hyno is good against Koga, Agatha, and Bruno. The two of them combined plus Pidgeot can deal with Sabrina, Lorelei, and Blue. The real question is will we level them up and teach them those attacks.

I don't think we can predict how something like E4 will go. Too much stuff to happen before it. May as well level up the Omanyte that Twitch will most definatelly attempt to revive.

Can't get to Cinnabar without surf, and currently no pokemon in the party can learn it. So unless we want to grab fishing rods, Lapras is a necessity.

Who knows, maybe Lapras will be released shortly after he is adquired. You just cannot predict stuff so far in advance.

Oh I know, I'm just saying Pidgeot alone is not feasible, as demonstrated in the ghost tower. Lapras+Hypno combination is simply the easiest, safest, and fastest way left.
The remaining gym leaders are not too bad to get to, as long as we go to Cinnabar from Pallet. (Saffron maze might be annoying but it'll be done.) The battles are also not impossibly difficult. The real hurdle is getting past the hedge bushes to Victory Road, completing the maze there, and then facing the Elite 4.

Oh god, if they immediately release lapras everything will implode.

I was thinking about what other games they could do....Mario clearly doesn't work very well lol. Maybe one of the older Final Fantasy games.

And if they do, they will dig their way out at the end and do it again.

They were doing Mario last night. Last I checked they were stuck in 1-1 with like 2000 deaths or something absurd.
http://www.twitch.tv/directory/game/Pokémon Red/Blue/live
They're doing FF and Zelda games.
The main problem with many older games is that they're too hard, and have poor save functions or no continuity. At least in Pokemon Red a wipe lets you save all your items and exp instead of restarting from a saved game.

Delay just makes any game that isn't turn based virtually impossible. And most turn based games (RPGs basically) are far less attractive than Pokemon, they are harder and if you die you reload your save instead of going back to base, that alone kills the run. They will save at a impossible spot and never make progress, instead of grinding it out like TPP is doing now. And even if they were possible, they would be far less interesting simply because of the lack of diferent possibilities that Pokemon offers.

I'm totally up for a "Twitch plays Minesweeper", or "Twitch plays Scrabble".
|
An RPG could easily be played with an autosavestate / load feature.
I say easily...
|
Lol twitch plays fighters.....talk about spamming buttons.
|
The reason Pokemon works so well, aside from the fact that you don't need reflexes is that when you wipe in a battle it ain't game over.
Final Fantasy and other RPGs don't have this system.
