This stream is progressing at the rate expected of true random generator though - ie. little to non-existent.
Edit: Not sure if true neutrality of the stream can be trusted, as streamer is friend of the original RNG stream who admitted giving little "help" when overly stuck. It's pretty remarkable how TwitchPlaysPokemon is only stream that gives no thought about viewer convenience and all that!

They battled all but 2 trainers in the gym.
Then RED ran out of the gym to the tree with all but 1 pokemon fainted. Half of the chat wants to cut the tree, get to pkmn center, heal, cut tree again Other half wants to suicide.
Endless struggle ensues. Back in gym, 9 hp Pidgeot beats another trainer before it faints.
Was watching this when it was made, took them almost 2 days to get out of mt moon haha, and another day in cerulean. they were stuck on the sign next to the gym for like an hour.

It is possible to run out of money. You could farm money with Meowth and payday. The streamer said that he would remove the safari zone step count limit, so you can run around in it limitlessly and only pay once.
that was what i was worried about, i know that without that the game is basically over at the safari zone
the "oh great helix fossil" memes are pretty awesome too
it seems like every 8-12 hours there are another 10k people watching, and they are still progressing. truly amazing. all of the content that is being put on the subreddit has made this one of the coolest things I have ever witnessed. I wonder how many people will be on once the weekend ends.
