I was 668 and doing top 5 dps all the time, it seems like it's closer to 665 for normal up through blackhand/maidens, though having better geared people certainly helps. | ||

But yeah you are counted as melee, count it as a blessing =). It's super nice to not have to worry about some of that stuff. | ||

In my last pug there were quite a few people over 660 gear and only were middle of the pack on dps at best. In my last raid I was 2nd on gruul (behind a pally by 1.5k who was 20 ilevel higher than me) and top 1 on darmac (combat imba, I led by 1k over the aforementioned pally). I am only 653 but have my gear for the most part itemized properly for my specs (Have 4 items left for combat at 630, and unfortunately 7 items left for assa, although some of these are still high ilevel because they just out class the 630 assa items. Itemization is much more important than ilevel. I've out dpsed almost every other rogue i've been in a raid with and most of them out gear me by 10-15 ilevels. I do believe though that you should look for higher level gear people when pugging, but that isn't always true. Maybe I also just hold a grudge against all of the groups that don't invite me because im only 653 =(. | ||

The one fight that felt like a pain in the ass was Blackhand, we had a shit raid composition when we tried him but we couldn't make it past phase2 because the adds on the stands just did too much damage. | ||
