I liked the start too. Questing has been fine. Garrison are a great addition, didn't think they would be as fun as they are. Seems a good start.
I have done some of the bosses in Highmaul and that raid is fun, and Blackrock i did some bosses which were also good. Challenging on Mythic too but i don't know about the gear i was using during that lol.

Meh, forced into combat rogue for all thes 5man CM and stuff because Blade flurry does so much fcking cleave dmg ;;

Is healing a lot tougher in this expansion or something? In the dungeons I've run while leveling (as dps, and tank myself) I've gotten a lot of healers letting the tank drop to 10-20% in almost every pull. Is mana a non-issue but the throughput is just really low? Or am I just really getting that many poor healers? I figured there'd be at least a solid fraction that were raid healers @ 90 and are healing as they level.....

No ill intentions here, I just have no idea how healing has changed post-6.0

You're just getting awful healers. I pretty much sit at 100% mana and can keep the tank above 70% even if he's a dipshit and pulls a dozen mobs at a time.

When I was healing in beta (so lvl 100 normal and heroic) the biggest issue for me was tanks just chain pulling like they used to and dps completely forgetting to CC and spamming AOE. Sometimes you'd get patrols that people would completely miss while fighting trash, and they could wipe you. On bosses it would take a few tries for people to figure out how to avoid the damage mechanics (like the flame breath from random drakes on Zaela)

On the healing side of things, even your high-throughput heals wouldn't top people up, they kinda just healed the same amount but faster than the mana-efficient ones, and a bad group would present a real risk of going oom - if the dps both couldn't avoid damage mechanics and couldn't down the boss very fast you were in trouble. Had a funny Zaela kill where I went oom and let everyone but the tank and me die, and like 3 minutes later we killed her.

Without both risk factors I was generally ok. Getting that low on every pull does indicate bad healers to me. If necessary, CC made things pretty easy.

edit: played disc priest exclusively, sans Holy Nova (felt pretty silly when I started seeing all those Holy Nova OP memes >.> )

hmm would definitely like an explanation for the difference between 3.3m and 10m...does that really mean 6.7m people are actively subscribed without WoD? 3.3m and ~3.5m would be much more believable.


Well, example of one - I reactivated my sub last month to try and level up enough to get into SoO at least once before the expo hit but have held off on purchasing WoD as I can't really afford to be distracted from work atm Will probably just get it next week...

Normally I would have guessed that there are plenty of casuals who are below max level and are just leveling before getting the expo, but they plugged the insta boost to 90 so hard, in every ad, it's hard to imagine anyone hesitating on that account.

In any case, it's nice to see overall numbers so high. This expansion must have really struck a chord somehow.

What i get from this is that 3.3 million copies were sold after the launch of WoD (November 13), so they are not countrin "pre purchase" of the expansion in this numbers.

So that could mean that probably the other 7 million or less got WoD already before that.

Either your group was rather weak or the prot warrior was gladiator. As said above, its one of the most dealing dps spec right now in the game. Think it tops Warrior dps easily as well.

I must be doing something wrong when solo'ing as Gladiator though, I don't feel my dps is that high. Nothing compared to my hunter or mage.

Basically was druids topping dps on trash due to aoe cleave and then prot warrior would top charts in boss fights. I was the rogue and honestly while my single target dps is decent I might go back to combat when I get some decent weapons because very few fights am I doing great dps =/.

edit: I guess I should also mention that we were running a pretty lulzy group. We ran heroic Auchindoun and killed most bosses with just tank and dps ignoring almost all the boss mechanics. On Teron'gor we only let 1 infernal spawn and it followed the healer around for like 20 seconds before teron'gor died.

Does Gladiator Stance essentially negate all survivability benefits of playing prot? Or would it be really great for solo content (current daily, and old world)?

Sounds like a blast I'm really excited to try it @ 100.

Its ok though, ferals are balanced! Topping dps meter and doing half the healer output in challenge modes. And before you ask, yes the players were good... Seriously, Feral healing needs a nerf; those rejuves ticking for as much as resto ones, and thanks to low haste there's plenty of free globals.

You lose the 20% (25% with the gladiator talent) damage reduction, increased threat on abilities, the 5% armor from WoD leveling perks and about 15% health/stamina (don't know from what source).

Glad stance does not have the 25% damage reduction of Prot stance. Nor can it use Shield Block, the main mitigation cd. It also doesnt have the bonus threat.

It does however provide the highest warrior single target dps (and lowest aoe) of all specs.

Mainly out of the other 100 talents it provides the best bonus for tanks so I would expect (almost) all prot warriors to have it at this point, the good soloing ability it provides is merely a bonus.

Haste does not affect GCD for ferals btw, it does increase energy regen though.

I think feral healing is fine as is, but healers need a slight buff. Hopefully if they nerf our healing we get some extra dps.

So hey, is building crafting hut of a profession you don't have worth it? On my rogue I have alchemy and herbalism, I built alchemy lab and salvage yard on small plots and now I got 1 spare and no idea what to build there. I considered LW hut to craft me some armor, but how does that work with no profession?

I did enchanting simply because it lets you disenchant green/blue items and craft some enchants (cloak, neck, rings, and one weapon enchant). Can make some extra cash selling enchanting mats.

The other professions (if you don't have them) require you to use more work orders to get the mats needed to actually craft anything, but you can craft the lowest tier epic gear at lvl 3 IIRC.

Enchanting is likely very profitable because draenic dust is really hard to come by. It's the only profession that isn't supported in any way by the garrison actually, no way to gather more stuff, craft greens or anything of the sort -.-
