It's very odd to think that HLA is now a husband and father... Dude was young back when he was a solid EU player. Guys, we're getting old.

What was TL's attitude towards WC3 in the early days? Kinda sucks theres no website with as extensive of a community like TL is for BW.

WCreplays and replayers.net were both strong for a long time and I'm sure there were others. They've just died out in the last few years due to the scene only being active in China and EU.

Those two you named, plus GosuGamers, SK-Gaming, MYM's website, and I can also tell you there were a lot of French community websites. It is what it is though. The game is over ten years old. And while it's still alive, I think this thread is likely one of the most active English-speaking forums for WC3.

Hm, a good number of people (sadly if I remember correctly I was guilty of this as well at some points) were quite hostile towards it. I think because of it looking like it would kill BW and we felt defensive... Not all negative, but way more than it deserved. On August 07 2015 15:45 Yoav wrote: Very much agreed. WC3 story spoilers for anyone born yesterday or living under a rock: + Show Spoiler + I came to WC3 without any knowledge of the lore at all. Stepped into a fantasy/Tolkien universe, and felt, "Okay, I know my way around." But then the Orcs start showing their complexity, the human Hero goes to the dark side. I'm like, cool, getting dark. Then the fucking High Elves get destroyed. The human kingdom gets scattered, with only a handful of survivors fleeing for parts unknown. And suddenly I'm in love with this story. It's Tolkien if Boromir got the ring, killed the Mouth of Sauron then took over Mordor's armies and trashed Gondor and Rivendell. The beautifully constructed universe gets introduced to you... then shattered into a million pieces. It was epic. The orcs kill the Night Elf deity, free themselves from Demon corruption, and make peace with the humans, all in one campaign. Then Sauron invades fucking Valinor. The Night Elves have three fascinating characters, who all fight for their own way to make everything work. Eventually, they give up immortality to save their world. And that was the first half. TFT saw new factions forming, though I wish WoW had followed up on these more than it did. The age-old alliance of Elves and Men shatters, and the now-fallen High Elves join up with the Naga (fallen Night Elves) and the Draenei (or at least a faction that WoW tells us is fallen as well) to serve the fallen Illidan. The Night Elves start to divide into factions between Tyrande and Maiev with Malf trying to hold things together. The Undead split into three groups. And in the bonus campaign the Horde begins to reform as tensions with the Alliance begin again to arise... Man, that was an awesome game. WC4 would really have to tear the world apart and put it back together again to match up to that. Making me want to replay the campaign ![]()

Their Youtube-Account has also alot of VoDs and Interviews. As War3Arena is your first adress to play the game, you should visit their side for contact with other players. Readmore if you can speak german a bit, so you can navigate their calendar. Simplified chinese for douyutv and chinese war3 sites.

US west is playable from Australia but ping to EU servers climbs to 350 odd. Just not doable. There's no war3 esports wiki that I know of but I'd be happy to contribute to one if anyone is interested in starting something up.

Yeah the playerbase on US is so small, all concentrates on China and EU with a small little village called Korea. I dont even know on which server the chinese play, but you should try to find out and connect to theirs, I think your ping should be way better then to W3A (and they have insanely strong players there). The server is named YY and I dont know how to install as its a pain in the ass to play from Europe to China. You can use the War 3 Subreddit, it is not really active, some posts a week, but they have schedule on the right side so you see some of the next events like Gera Cup. https://www.reddit.com/r/WC3/

While StarCraft 3 is another possibility. Quote from producer Tim Morten : "It’s very rewarding for us to hear that there’s demand out there for more RTS content in the Warcraft universe so once we’re done with Void I think we’ll get together as a team and talk about what would inspire us to work on next. There’s no question, though, that we’ll consider Warcraft, StarCraft, or even new ideas. Anything is possible." Other good stuff on the link http://uk.ign.com/articles/2015/08/12/gamescom-2015-blizzard-will-consider-warcraft-rts-once-starcraft-2-is-done?utm_campaign=fbposts&utm_source=facebook My thoughts : FUCK YES ! Even though it aint no confirmation , I'm glad they have it on their minds , and they should focus on finishing the Sc2 trilogy and make sure it's a good game , then and only then , go for Warcraft 4 if they choose to.

We can only hope Blizzard doesn't abandon RTS because everything else sells so much better. Brood War sells 11 million, WC3 sells 5 million, SC2 sells 6 million and then D3 sells 30 million, and Hearthstone reportedly makes 20million dollars a month I think the first we'll heard of a WC4 if thats the direction they're gonna go with is 2019? 2020? It's a common topic, but if and when they do it, how much hero design is going to change, obviously MOBAs will have some type of influence in design, but they can't be too fancy since you'll be controlling 3+ heroes?

Yeah man it is obvious , the point on having 1 RTS team working 2 games and I agree with that completely , I'm just happy that their RTS team has the idea in their heads , and they can see how much the fan base wants this to happen. Like you said I was also worried that Blizzard would just drop RTS and we would never see Wc4 or even an Sc3 for that matter. yeah that timeline seems alright , I'm gonna enjoy playing Wc4 with my kids :D

I think a problem with making a sequel to Starcraft/Warcraft, is people will keep making the comparison to the previous game whenever you want to do something new or different. It's kinda like a dilemna in working in a franchise. You want to do something new to keep things interesting, but if it's too off the wall, you lose what made the previous game great and those fans might be disappointed.
