Those are not bugs, they're intended. They won't "fix" those (Except for ranked ladder, which is probably on their todo list)

Yeah the newest edition looks nice and is well made, but they already had one "HD" remake in 2013, which had a plethora of DLC, altogether around 50$ iirc. Then they decided to abandon that and do another remake and dub it "Definitive", yeah sure whats next, "Turbo" version in another 4 years for another 20$? And everyone who wanted to continue playing multiplayer has to buy the new version or be left with a tiny playerbase. Thats not exactly consumer friendy either. I'm not sure how remastering the game twice, 8 years apart, can be considered a scummy move, especially when both the original and the original remake are viable working products. You're right that the HD edition was too expensive tho. They fixed that second time around. And the care and work they've put into the definitive edition is staggering. All the while, get this, you can still play the original one! Mindblowing. If they make another "turbo" remake in 8 years, with this amount of content and this amount of work put into it, sign me the fuck up.

It's 6 years between 2013 and 2019, 3 years if you count from year the latest DLC released (2016). But you are right, of course, it's infinitely better than what blizzard is doing, at least you can still play the other versions.

Is there any way to avoid the Bnet app auto-updating your WC3 client? Like changing the file directory or anything like that? I would like to play the WC3 campaign, I’m happy with the original game. Until ladder is added I’m not that interested in playing multiplayer at present. My current PC is extremely limited in terms of available storage, I’m currently uninstalling/reinstalling things from my Steam library on a per-play basis for example so I really don’t want 30 gigs of a bloated install on my PC if I can possibly avoid it.

Guy above me has the right idea. Disconnect from internet while installing, then add W3.exe to your firewall so it can't ever connect to it.

Ah, the firewall call is pretty good! I still occasionally play SC2 so I can’t completely avoid the Bnet architecture but that should work

Around the DRM era, cracks could vary from simply copying over an .exe file to writing full scripts, turning your cd rom upside down, overwriting half of your registry keys, painting a pentagram on the floor with some lit candles, changing your system settings to Japanese, abducting a gypsy, removing your system clock battery, demagnetising your hard drives, have a shootout with the cops, and willingly install aids on your computer. The things a kid can learn in order to reach his entertainment is staggering.

Until I got caught once (stupid young me and torrents) and had to pay quite a sum :/ After that I stopped, mainly because I lost all computer privileges along with my PC (aka the family PC) Well, first they just tried to lock me out but after I cracked every kind of password my parents and older brother could imagine (windows password and BIOS password all had backdoors then ^^' ) they just took away the monitor

I long thought that Norwegian IPs just didn't enclose personal information, but a friend of mine tried it (after I egged him on telling him hos easy it was) and got caught immediately. No fine, but a warning letter (Which I would have laughed at, but he took it seriously). But my family did try to cut down on my computer addiction for a while, but I was pretty resourceful (again, only when there's something between me and my entertainment. Otherwise I was dumb as bread), so they gave up after a few tries. One OS password I literally cracked by just typing in 8 stars. I still have no idea if that was a legit security hole, or if they actually put that as the password.

When you get a joinbug, sometimes it restarts searching automatically after a few seconds, sometimes you have to restart the game. I don't know what causes the difference. The color switch bug is fixed, it's nice. Ok, I hear on streams that the change of sounds was not on my end.
