T3 Banshee upgrade is not worth it. With this strategy you have to take a big fight to them at some point, and usually that'll have to come before T3 is done. T3 is still worth getting, and all you'll get is your DR or PL or CL, Orb, and 1-2 destros (don't need a lot of destros with that strat, it's almost better to add on 1-2 aboms).
Hi you who still play the game that was a huge part of my youth, in good and bad ways. wc3 was a great game and quite possibly the best rts ever made (so far...?). One of it's few downsides were the relatively small number of maps. This annoyed so much I spend a lot of time in the map editor, just to proove for myself that it was possible to create maps that allowed to play wc3 to all aspects. Without the imbalances/lack of lategame options that most of the well-known maps brought along (I could still write pages about this topic). Of course some of this might just be my point of view, but whatever. I think I made some 3+ maps at least that I was very pleased with, but which I have never released to be played by anyone but myself. But a little bit I've alway wondered what other people think about this (the wc3 communities I knew were not very enthusiastic about most new maps, unfortunately). So if some of you are interested, I could share them here, to give you some fresh maps and get some feedback about my precious creations I'm asking this before I actually share the maps as I don't have them available atm (only one I considered to be my best and that I once shared here on a german wc3-site can probably still be downloaded, after creating an account on that page), and would have to find them on one of my old pcs that is currently at my parents home. @Mafe: yes id totally love to. I also dont like that the mappool has stayed the same all the time. ive done some custom maps myself (one dodge map) but i guess I wont find them again. the warrcaft editor was a game by itself ^^ ill play your maps against some people from here. do you also still play?
edit: i just download it and im really impressed. looking forward to playing it! so now the teamliquid wc3 scene has started its own mappool :D . some more maps and we could make a nice unique league ^^ then th000 and Moon will play at our tournaments and... well im getting ahead of myself :D

Speaking of custom maps, I remember back in RoC I spent a good deal of time making a fairly big archipelago map that featured ports and ships, a la WC2 (really missed that in WC3 for some reason). I got to play a few games and wanted to upload it before TFT came out...with ships. I remember I got pretty mad and dissed the map lol.
@Mafe: that map looks interesting! I'll DL it once I get back home!
On Orc vs UD, I used to play on the orc side of the matchup. BM could be pretty annoying. At my level, people usually just went DK/Lich/Fiends and quick T3 for destros, seemed to work pretty well if they hit you at the pre-T2 timing. If they failed to put on any significant damage or you just screwed them early, it was usually game though. Also played for UD for a while, but that didn't go too well.

We should work to populate that server, it'd be awesome to have a decent private server to play on. The delay on w3arena is amazing, so I support it totally.

i'm on b.net right now (azeroth), I can finally play. But I guess there's no clan? And why do people play on other 'programs'? What's wrong with b.net :O
GArena and w3arena are both good because they reduce the lag to a minimum, whereas BNet has some delay although it is not too significant. The level of players is also higher on w3arena and YY.
The bots of w3arena are really excellent though, I really do hope that server grows.
I might play a game or two tomorrow morning but then I'll have to catch a plane and I don't think I'll be on for a while!
i have decided for myself that I will always go Lich first with UD. I will also make some builds for human with Heros that are fun, but will not learn the standart strategies, cause they dont look like fun. im always online in garena, so meet me there (threep0int14). your skill doesnt matter! cu!
First thing I'm going to do when I get my computer built is reinstall Frozen Throne. I've already decided to make an account called PaladinFirst_AllDay and, well, go Paladin first in all my games.
I discovered Purebee fairly recently and his casts are great to watch. He's done literally hundreds of casts and it'll keep you entertained for a while.

I've always hated mass tanks. It breaks the game for me. If you field an army that could technically lose against ANYTHING and click on buildings, you're really bypassing what makes WCIII challenging and fun. It truly does make me ragequit...but I can't stay away from WCIII. I'll probably just have to approach it with a less competitive attitude. Thus: PaladinFirst
I am still on vacation as of now, but I will be back in a few days. I intend to ladder some more on w3arena and I'll probably be on GArena too, in the USA room.
Try and bring more people to the thread guys! We've gathered a decent amount and new people keep coming now and then, but we can do better!
bnet: cant find much games and some of them are bots that just disc me :S arena: could find just one game and got raped hahaha nice server but still couldn find many players
played with 12gage and hindsight today, nice as always . garena is the best way to meet each other, as it has a chatprogram outside of warcraft, where one can always check whos online. even if you want to play somewhere else garena is a good program
