Yeah, hording as its called is common among good players. However I dont do that. Instead I pretty much rush to 100 supply and kills whoever is hoarding at 50 supply. I also play NE, so I cant rely on static defense like orcs and humans.

The best moment of Philbot was when his mum didn't let him go to BWWI 2004 after qualifying. Souljah who was a complete unknown went instead and took a game off Wizard with some huntress/catapault cheese bullshit, lol.
I`m trying to play orc against my old WC3 friends, but I`m strugling a lot.
Right now I`m going for BM + 4 grunts, to T2, but after this point I get stuck. Should I continue building grunts or wait for raiders + spirit breakers? And what are the timings and army compositions?

Thx!
4 grunts is a lot, if you're playing that style then you should be causing serious damage with them...completely denying creeping or cancelling T2 buildings. I usually go that many vs. O and vs. UD but not vs. NE (you should probably build 2-3 grunts and not upgrade vs. NE mass talon style) or HU (against HU you need either walkers or shamen ASAP to fight their mass summon strats, although keep building grunts and upgrade them after your tech is done).
Your main problem is probably your T2 tech, it needs to be early early early most all of the time unless you do a funky TC + Mass T1 style. Ending up at 4 grunts is good, but your BO should be something like
(start constant peon production) Altar+Burrow Rax when enough money (don't stop peons) 2nd burrow when enough wood Grunt/hero when burrow/rax finish Peons to take you to 20/20 Shop when enough wood Grunt and possibly extra peon when burrow finishes T2 when enough wood
A lot of pros will cut the 2nd burrow and get the shop earlier, or even skip grunts before they start their T2. If you're building 4 before your T2 starts, you're on the back foot from the beginning. Orc really shines in the midgame with raiders, SH, and spirit link.
Another power of Orc that you really need to utilize is harassing creeping with BM while creeping with grunts. You should be able to never lose a grunt to creeps while also denying your opponent's creeping/stealing items or forcing them to cancel food or T2 buildings.
can some1 help with me ud vs orc matchup well i am not very good player overall but i am having lot of fun playing the game so far but i have so many problems vs orc i usually go fast fiends arround 4 or so with dk then i try to tech to t3 asap for destroyers but its usually doesnt work out that well that damn bm is just creep jacking my ass whats the best counter for creepjacking and the overall strategy vs orc with od
Ahhh WC3. The game that got me into competitive gaming. Greatest game of all time. The team experience in particular stands out over any RTS imo.
I still watch casts and comps sometimes, but as an Australian I just can't handle the lag anymore. Put up with it for a long time but DotA2 and LoL have spoiled me. I can't play in the sludge anymore, particularly with Lordaeron being pretty much dead.
Not sure if he's been mentioned, but Chumpesque is a great caster. Good knowledge of the game for anyone interested in learning about high level play.
ill be playing this evening, maybe 10pm cest (4pm in east USA). hope somebody joins! any server is ok. will be available in azeroth chanel "teamliquid" before I play. greets
Haven't played in a while, busy week and spent the the time I had on HearthStone (damn, TCGs can be addictive). I'll install GArena, seems you guys are moving there and to w3arena, and I guess w3arena will be a lagfest for me :/
Also I'll hop on Azeroth to me some 1v1 Hope to see some of you guys around

Orc v UD is widely considered to be the most unbalanced matchup in the game. If you're just starting and aren't particularly attached to a race I'd recommend selecting another to focus on because of it. UD has very little answer at T2 giving an Orc a large window to establish map control. Ghouls are food to a BM and Fiends are vulnerable to BM harass early and become food once the Orc hits T2 and gets a SH with a few Raiders/Walkers. Best results for me came with standard fiend play, and abusing certain timings. Namely early T2 once you have a Lich with Frost Armor and before they have Raiders/Walkers and early T3 after quickly purchasing an orb.
First thing I would recommend is learning how to base-block. All maps (AFAIK) have a way for UD players to block off access to their base. This will solve BM harass. You won't be able to get in with your heroes but you shouldn't need to. Creep as much as you can and be sure to dust before taking major creep camps. Snipe big creeps with coil if the BM is snooping around, but make sure to save mana incase he jumps on a fiend.
Lich tower rush can be an option on certain maps. Lucifer has also pulled off DL/Firelord/Ghoul strats but I'm not sure how frequently. Haven't kept up the last few years.
I concur. Hearthstone is pretty addictive, been playing it a lot. I am so glad to see more and more people joining in though!
@jonhy-, UD vs Orc is probably the hardest match-up of the game. I'm no good UD player, but if you ask me it comes down to not getting caught out of position against the Orc's Raiders to ensure minimum losses. So, map awareness is necessary. Most UD still go fiends and T3 to Destroyers, however some other strategies are viable. Ghoul can be suitable in the beginning, you place some surrounds and he is likely to lose a few Grunts. Once T2 hits though, you better avoid fighting with your Ghouls. I think you probably can cancel a few buildings with them if the early goes well for you though. After that, you can probably move on to Fiends/Destroyers as usual.
The best strategy is probably TeD's strategy, aka Fiends/Banshees/Statues. You stay T2 a lot longer in this strategy if I recall. You get a lot more Fiends and a couple of Banshees. The purpose of the build is to spam Curse on the Orc's units and Heroes, thus making them miss a LOT of attacks. Couple that with a DK/Lich (Frost Armor as a first skill on the Lich) and the fights go a lot more smoothly.
It works wonders, but it still requires great control. I suggest you try it and see how it works out. There are other general tips to be given: - If the Orc went BM, carry Dust. - If he is being aggressive (which he almost always is), go Frost Armor as your first skill on your Lich. - Research Burrow, it could save your Fiends in between Ensnares. - Use your nukes. Coil + Nova brings down a Raider pretty easily. - Try to spam the Skeletons with your Rod of Necromancy. The Orc won't have any dispel most likely, and it's extra damage/cannon fodder. - In the end, it is almost all about micro and positioning in this match-up. You sort of have to outmicro your opponent. Try to fight in places where you have the advantage (uphill vs. downhill, your base, on Blight, etc.) - Regarding the last tip, carry Sacrificial Skulls. It will help you a ton. Whenever you start a fight, use it to throw down some Blight, the regeneration might make the difference. - If you do go T3, I suggest using Dark Ranger or Pit Lord as your third Hero. The Silence can be very dreadful for the Orc, and the Howl of Terror also greatly reduces the damage output of all the units affected, thus allowing your Fiends and Heroes to take more hits. Some people even go DR/PL as a second Hero. PL does work well with the Banshee strategy, since if they manage to hit successfully despite the Curse, their damage will be very low. PL is also a very beefy Hero, allowing him to survive longer and deal more damage. - Quick level 3 DK is probably the key to having a much smoother game. The Orc will almost always creepjack you when he goes BM, so try to go for unconventional creeping routes when the map allows it. It might not help you avoid the harass all together, but it might help you get more done before the BM finds you.
I have the gym today and some work, but I'll try to come at 4pm my time for a couple of games!
oh god thanks for the awesome replies guys its really appreciated the fiend/banshee strategy sounds realy good will deffinitly try it out but when do i go t3 with the banshee fiend play and does it worth to get t3 upgrades for banshees? or u just get them for curse also i never really tried 3 heroes vs orc i was just staying with dk+lich and lot of fiends/statues/destr
