Me too! I was taking a look around the internet on how to play online because I was going to host a 16 man UT99 tournament with the prize being a $10 game on steam. Maybe you wanna join us?

I came in after UT99, but I can comment on 2k3 and 2k4. UT2003 was short-lived because UT2004 came out very soon after. Most people consider UT2004 to be a big step up in gameplay, especially movement because of how they tweaked the gravity parameters and whatnot.

I played UT2004 for years, and it certainly had a longer time in the spotlight than UT2003 did. There were a few generations of pros, starting with GitzZz and Lauke and ending I'd say with ScrMz years later. By 2007-2008 it was really starting to trail off, and it's been dead cold for years now.

lol ut99 ... plain ol unreal was also a badass game with a fun lan experience.

all the weapons were so utterly op it was great ... mix that in with dn3d, rott doom quake etc and you had a blast.

Was kinda sad to think this was goign to be an unreal thread adn not a ut thread.

UT was trying to ride the q2/q3 wave. was a v good game.

I played UT99 InstaGib (CTF + DM) competitively. It had a rather large scene. Good old days, indeed.

Holy shit it's AofH, I imagine lots of old UT players are still lurking around, patiently waiting to get there hands on a new UT. There seems to be a big sentiment online from gamers who miss the old days of arena shooters. Lots of people asking for a new UT. Then Tim Sweeney says they are working on an online competitive FPS for PC only. If that doesn't scream a new UT I don't know what would. Here's the article with the quote.

The problem with UT3 was Cliffy B's idea about making it slow and clunky, basically Gears style. Now that he has left Epic I imagine Tim will go back to making the Unreal games the way they were since the Unreal franchise is his baby.

I remember only that from UT2004

Always preffered the UT games to Quake though.
