What exactly happens at level 15 that makes it that much better? Is it the first adventure?

You get a house and mount, you enter the capital city and finally leave the less well done starter zones. Your abilities starting filling out so pvp is more balanced.
Then the first dungeon is at 20 and you decide if you're gona be an addict or not.
A fun fact on the live stream, in the 3 months of closed beta with top wow guilds invited to test the raids not a single time did the 20 man final boss get defeated, let alone did the 40 man.
|
I'm not entirely sure that that's a good or meaningful thing though. I wouldn't put it past a maker of a supposed "WoW killer" to wait until well after launch to make the fights even remotely doable. Whatever it takes, man.

Its still launch so the servers are still pretty taxed as hell. They've been pretty fine when I could actualy get into the game if that helps. Dijplates has some hardcore memory leak issues so you should /reloadui every hour or so.

Good point on the servers being abused right now XD I'll ask again after awhile then

Generally though, it's running a little slower then you'd expect, and apparently they haven't managed to hash out anything with amd so amd cards tend to perform worse then nvidia cards.
Most of the whining seems to be in the vein of "i have a gtx 460m and a 2.1ghz i5, y can't i play dis game is broken refund pls" kind of crap though.

Lol yeah too many people have 8 year old "gaming rigs" that they expect to run new titles nowadays, seems like alot of the older gamers are hitting the end-of-life on their teenage-built machines and not upgrading.

It's also targetting a demographic who probably aren't used to trying to run newer games. The average wow/mmo/esports/competitive gamer really doesn't need much of a gaming rig at all. LoL can run on anything, as can sc2 and cs go, and pretty much all older mmo's could be run on a toaster. The minimum specs on this are higher then the reccomended specs on MoP.
Probably a bit of a reality check for people who thought their old 9800 machines were actually good :p

It's less peoples rigs for wildstar and more that their optimization in beta was ass imo, people with decent rigs had to go out of their way tweaking the game to go from shit FPS to good FPS Like this
From looking around they created their own engine for the game so i think it'll get better as time goes on. The starting zones in particular seem to be a nightmare for a lot of people.

in the beta, it was the low-mid spec pc's that were the first to benefit from optimization before the higher spec pc's were. you guys might be right about low spec pc users having unreasonable expectations, but for a while the good pc's were happy to get smooth 40 fps. a lot of the unhappiness was from people who had pc's that ought to run 60+ fps (and probably much higher) but werent. things have definitely improved across the board and they're not done yet. only time will tell how much better it gets

sorry... but...huh.. where do I find my 7 days trial codes? I wish to give it to a friend but i can't find it lol

Alright I've started the guild on pergo. If anyone wants in just put your ign here and I'll invite you.
10g ;( I didn't want that mount anyway.

Is the PVP fun? Compared to WoW BGs that is. Or Rift's BGs. Thats my major concern. If it's fun, I will give it a go as the only thing I miss most about WoW is the PVP.

Anyone on Warbringer? I joined it cause I couldnt get on any other server and I always have 100ms its really annoying. Figured it wouldnt be that bad, I'm on the west coast.

The guild is made, Not solid, if someone wants to try to make one with a better name, you are welcome to (the guild seems to need a lot of work to be something you want to keep).
My character is named Garleth on Ravenous, lets see where this goes, joining a larger guild is best done as a group anyway.

Had some fun playing the first 10 levels, seems like a game I can really sink a lot of time into, it's only a shame that it doesn't run too well on my pc and I have no idea why. I followed all recommendations in the forums threads about performance and it's still not good enough (30fps on ultra low with frequent stutters) for me.
Guess I'll have to upgrade
