Hello,
just made a little Cup for the Blood Bowl game.
12 Players. 2 Groups
Top 4 of each group advance into Playoffs.
First 12 Players to register get the spots.
Please register with a NEW Team.
Schedule is one game a Week, so players in different Timezones have a good opportunity to play each other

i'd be joining with a WE team (or a different one if we have too many elves) but it's been a long time since i've played <.< how do i join the league? i found it easy enough in the finder, but when i try to join it i don't see any of my teams in the drop down menu (made some ad hoc just try + the old one) what am i doing wrong?

Your team might have been placed in another league. Try leaving that league. That should allow you to apply to the new one.

all new teams get placed in the auld word league (at least mine), go to the leagues screen. on the bottom there is a button "my registered teams", leave auld world and you can join another league.

Yeah I don't think they're the best team but I find them really fun. I don't want to give my strategies away too early, you'll see xD

I'd think maybe increasing group size so you have 2 groups of 8 instead of 4x4 maybe, due to how some teams are slower to get going than others as they need some basic skills, but I don't mind, especially considering this is the first one

groups of eight means up to seven weeks group phase alone. i would keep this first one rather short. but we will see after everybody applied
sadly there is no three-day option for schedule, only daily (to short) and weekly (to long imo). but maybe we can speed things up if everybody manages to play their games early

Obsidian I think you need to pull your team out of the default league it's added to. Then find the TL league in the finder.

Last team is Underworld. If you really really want to play one of those teams then CE is probably worth it. Otherwise stick to LE.

**edit: btw khorne deamonds can be realllly fricking good at high TV....not really bad low tv but theyre at elast tricky ...mighty blow is this team bane .with at least 80% fo your team with frenzy ... even if you block the way you still have 2 dice ... your gonna end up at some weird spot sometimes lol but you have sooo many surfers lol

i really like the teamdistribution so far, the different races are far more balanced in leagues or cups were you actually have to win. in the open leagues (naggaroth, forum open, auld world) you meet quite a few teams that dont even try to win the game. those games tend to be really boring.

It will be good to all start at the same level. Even with the cash inducements, it's often difficult for a low TV team to compete vs a significantly higher TV value.

just saw that i can get a second apothecary in lrb6 (played mostly lrb5 before) why is nobody doing this? also teams generally seem to have less re-rolls than when i played on fumbbl.com (java bb client) is there a reason for that?

By default you can have up to one Apothecary, except for Undead teams and Nurgle who can't get any (because of regen).
You can buy up to two more Apothecaries as inducements, however. (Undead and Nurgle get an Igor instead).

was just a bug in the client. you can buy a second one on the team management screen, but its gone after you save (and the money is back)

There was something in the morgning, but i just played a match, so the servers should be up.
I will start the first season of this thing tomorrow in the evening. no reason to wait to long, most people on TL who are interested should be in already
10 teams in at the moment. If it stays that way, ill just do it as a league with playoffs. if we gett to 12 ill do 2 groups and playofs after that.

If this installs in time I'll apply to join the league. I will almost certainly come dead last but it'll be a good laugh nonetheless. The reason I say this is I have played BB like 4 times ever, because nobody in RL would play with me. Had a copy of Legendary sitting around that I never installed though so doing that now.
Assuming I do as terribly as I'm pretty sure I will, how does anyone feel about helping me out a bit? (obviously I'll read online some junk too). If anyone feels helpful, shoot me a PM with Skype details or something I'd give you much love <3

haha dont worry ... from what i see like half the people seems to have few online games and some none (or by theyre roster lol ) so it dosent seems like a gathering of super mega duepr pro blood bowl player ...still blood bowl is not easy a draw is a good thing lol !jsut enjoy the game and try not to rage ... and this a a leauge just for fun .Dont expect to have any free win though cause even if i played a bit recently i wont lol !cant wait c ya on the field

After reading around the teams a bit, I didn't want to play a "boring" team (Orcs, humans), but while Goblins are a lot of fun in WH:Fantasy, I don't think I should play them when I still don't know wtf I'm doing. Plus I want to kill people. So Nurgle it is!

and seeing that a lot of players in the league dont have a lot of experience ill change my team from orks to necromantic.
orc was kind of a save bet. and i havent played lizard necros. so this will be more fun and more of a challenge

actually both pro-elf teams were in pool 2, so i threw a d6 to decide with team from pool switch one of them with
no reason not to use this great spread, a lot of teams you dont see very often in the open leagues

edit : talked with the guy server crapped out ...wich si very possible as i got kicked like 1 min after game and coulndt reconenct for like 2 min ....and tis plausible cause he still ahd a shott we were close to my td line ...hope server are more stable soon  . they jsut migrated theyre server ... might be the problem

jea i hear this a lot, strangely i never disconnect, one time my opponent didnt respond for about 20 minutes and timed out after that. maybe it depends on your location or something

Wow disconning when you are in turn 14 and obviously going to lose is just low as hell. In Fifa when you disconn beyond like 10 minutes into the 90 minute game the person who disconned gets a loss even if they were winning.

i like how they handled it in fumbbl (a bb java client) if you dc, your team stays locked till you finish the game (it saves every turn) and if you refuse the admins will bann your account quite fast

If you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth. You mentioned your choice of race on the first page. Lemonytang is a friend of mine. Therefore I knew the other WE player had to be you. It's simplicity itself.

Well...good game with Obsidian. Although I got horrifically lucky and he had a terrible game luckwise. I missed a throw but it bounced back into my own player's hands and for some reason that wasn't a turnover!!! 2-1 it was tense at the end because he pegged it back and I immediately turnover'd with my 2 re rolls gone. So he had a straight whack at me. But when the luck's going bad for you, nothing's going to help. No injuries for my team...and as he pointed out until the 14th turn I didn't have to re roll ONE block roll. Crazy luck.

That was an amazing game. Dwarf beat up my elves badly. gg Diminisher taking it 2-1 could not stop the pain train.

woot .. i won 2-1 ! ..this needed to be streamed haha .. was an epic game of dwarf vs elf it ahd it all, speedy elf touchdown,slow grind play from dwarf ..a bit too much of casualty poor tc got unlucky in 4 first turn ...but still epic finished on a touchdown on turn 16 after i made 2 pass (on hand off the other a pass) in same turn with DWARF hahahaha epic game tahnks tcduo fro the game had a blast .. next time minus 2-3 injury but got a lot of spp oh and an interception by dwarf ! lol

the ebst bang for your bucks is legendary chaos is an adiitional 10 $ for only 3 temas and some more stuff... but ill admit khorne deamonds are a nice addition .. and chaos dwarf are plain overpowered... so whatever fits your need

chaos dwarfs are in the game for 20 years. they are not overpowerd. one of the better teams, but not op just kill the hobgoblins...
now all games of round one are played, ill start round 2 tomorrow, so everybody has the next weekend to schedule.
4 of each group go to playoffs, so i hope to se very few meaningless matches, one or two victorys can be enough if the group plays out right

yhea he got really unlucky ... like 2 time 2xboth down rerolled into attacker down and both down...on the first block of the turn , a killer....but if i can say my opinion you should have went for 1-2 rerolls less and bought 1 more blitzer and maybe a black orc.its your call in the end though casue roc have some flexibility,but with 1 guy with block on the field your are open to turnovers even fi you have 4 rerolls,but yes you got crappy unlucky with double dice turnover and push only ,above normal. i give you that

my favorite starting lineup for orks is: 4black orks, 4 blitzers, 1 thrower, rest lineorcs. 3 rr.

Just finished my game vs morinethar. We both had mixed luck but the fact that i made all my regeneration rolls and that my werewolf ate one of his wardancers decided the game.

I just had a free-league game vs a Chaos Dwarf... and I will never complain about luck again.
Granted, in the end he just gave up, but not before he had 4 guys injured. 2 Broken ribs, one badly hurt, and one broken collar bone.
The 2nd tackle of the game had one of my Mummies (I was using Undead) hurt one of his Arm 9 dwarves. It rather went down-hill from there. Nobody was really winning, but 1/3rd of the way through the second half he was down to his Minotaur, 2 Centaurs and 1 Dwarf and 2 Hobgoblins. 4 Of his dwarves were out with injuries and the rest where KOed.
Obviously, this was a fairly good game for me... but I feel bad, bad luck from turn 1 and it persisted.

yeah blood bowl isn't a game, it's just a method to expose yourself to rage in a controlled environment. It was designed in a lab for that purpose, I have it on high authority.

If all I'm doing is losing, while giving my group the worst possible chance once they hit the other group, I'm not sure how much winner I'll be, but I'm sure everyone will want me around next time in case they end up in the opposite group right?

Copy and pasting from another forum which has a league I participate in (with a few small edits). Talking about BB manager which is a fantastic program for figuring out what happened in a game, and how lucky/unlucky certain things were:
BB Manager *ENTIRELY OPTIONAL*
So there's a program out there called BB Manager which is basically a log parser for blood bowl games. It has far more detailed stat tracking than the interface in game. All you need to do is download it, login with your coach name, and upload your matches to it. I have the league already set up for it, so you can find them easily and add your matches to it if you so desire.
I assume no responsibility for any damage caused by said program. Large leagues use it, I assume it's safe, but your mileage may vary.

Once you install it, create an account (the email address field is only there for an easy password reset), use your same coach name as in game, USE A DIFFERENT PASSWORD, and connect.
Once into the program, you can click on Leagues, filter by "in progress leagues" and it will bring up a list. You can sort and find ours. Ours are the newest ones, so they have the highest ID numbers currently. Liquibowl is the name there (as it is in game).

If you have BB manager running, and YOU HAVE JUST FINISHED THE GAME YOU WISH TO UPLOAD, a notification window should pop up on your taskbar which when clicked should take you to the correct dialog. It should show team names for the match you have just finished, simply fill in the fields with Coach names (until they all get populated, then you can select from the drop down box) and select which match day it was (we are on 2 right now), and then the password for all our leagues is -
TL edit: mannerup is the password for liquibowl.
I uploaded the two games I've had so far. It's pretty useful data if anyone is at all interested

Looking through my a bunch of past games, it seems like games have the biggest chance of getting out of hand/turning badly when there's a 20+ point swing in either the D6 or 2D6 rolls.
Disproportionately bad luck on D6 rolls (dodging, passing, pick ups, etc) ends up with one team getting way more blocks in (2D6) than the other. As a result, KO/injury risk goes up, and it can snowball quickly. Dodge rolls in particular are really brutal for an agi team to fail. Anything much more than a 10% variation downward almost always ends in an agi team loss from the small bit of data I've been sifting through (unless the other team has a similar degree of bad luck).

he had a lot of ko/bh players (and one dead), but i canceled it out with a stupid missclick (fleshgolems cant really dodge :D)

Jesus christ. This is why BB is the taker of souls. Stuff that you don't deserve happens ALL the time. I swear I almost feel like I should avoid re rolling 1's on go for it because they fail SO OFTEN. Like a 5/6 chance of failing even though it's supposed to be 1/6. There's no refuge to be found other than playing more games and being the lucky one yourself. What's worse is that when you are really lucky and win you can't really get any sense of accomplishment. You just got lucky. So it's lose lose haha!!!!

By the way, the BB Manager program also serves as a replay storage area. The game between me/snotling, as well as any other games people put up there can be downloaded via the replay button and watched via single player. It's pretty useful

the apothecary is basically a reroll on the injury result dice roll (which is like 2d6 with only 36 being a death but i'm pretty sure i'm wrong... something like that tho) so yes, you can totally reroll the same result you tried to reroll, and at best you get badly wounded result

the chance to get dead -> dead is actually 1 in 6. so not to uncommon. i had it mybe 5 times since i play. to get it two times in a row is a bit harsh though.
nothing that happened is very uncommon in itself. but to get trip, trip, break armour, dead, dead is quite a streak

vampires should be incredibly more powerful, pretty much the only thing in whfb that can stop a blood dragon vampire hero is a high elf and his star dragon, or a greater daemon/similarly uber tiered commanders....
a treeman however has S10 in whfb (Warhammer Fantasy Battles).... so it's like all the players are geared into 2 (weak) 3 (average) 4(above average) 5(Very strong) 6(absurdly strong)
if the steam tank was allowed you'd probably see him as ST6
Played with Klive, our local daemonic neighbour, and the game was one of the weirdest and funniest that i ever saw...
i won 2-1, with the first TD being the result of an audience field invasion at the kick off, sending down maybe 7(!) of his players while only taking down one of my linemen o.O. First event of the 2nd half was instead the audience throwing stones at my wardancer, injuring her and leaving me with just 10 linemen and a tree for the rest of the game. I scored a TD in the 2nd half with a linemen passing action (lol) then stalled till he got a TD in the last turn of the 2nd half.
In the mean time the tree and the greater daemon kept getting "both down" results and taking down each other, with me missclicking him as the last action of turn like, 15, and having him get up, avoid getting rooted,dodge the greater daemon, then sprint 1 tile with rolls being 4-6-6-6.... then i decided he should sprint again to go back to his chosen enemy, the daemon*
so he made an additional tile rolling another 6, rofl.
*made that entirely for the laughs
2-1 but should really have been 1-1 if not for a ridiculous kick off event o.O

jea. its not a d68 (dont think such a thing exists) its a d6 and a d8. and if the d6 shows a 6 its death. d8 doesnt matter in that case. actually death is just as likely as miss next game, or all the more serious injuries togehter

YEh the injury rolls are a d6 and a d8
the d6 shows the severity of the injury and the d8 shows the type of injury (only really applies on certain d6 rolls)
1 2 3 are badly hurt
4 is a miss next game (d8 only affects injury name)
5 is a severe injury (d8 affects injury details, -stats or niggling injury)
6 is death

well still, if you use an apo on each and every death you will get, so long as you have one ofc , on every Casualty roll you make you still have the exact same chance of getting a double death than failing a 2+ dodge with a reroll, that's 1/36 or less than 3%...
the Casualty roll also is used only when the injury roll (after failing the armor roll of the player going down) scores 10-12 on 2d6, which is still 6/36 or 1/6 (15%), and this is without considering the armor roll (a player with AV9 has a 15% chance to roll injury to begin with)

Ah can't wait tomorrow is the big week 3 game where I will be fielding 5 Journymen lineevles. In good news just played a game with an orc team I made, and the first block of the game I badly hurt one my norse opponents linemen. This happened 3 times in a row I was able to get him down to 3 people on the pitch at the end of each half. It was a nice easy 2-0 punchy win.

Just had an incredible match v tcsduo. He had insanely bad luck at the start but managed (somehow) to score in the first half. 1-0. Second half I get the ball from an out of bounds kick and I am like hell why not...give it to my ogre big vince. He fails the first block he tries and loses it. Then commences what can only be described as "RUMBLEEEEE" as almost both our entire teams congregate in the middle to beat the living shit out of each other. Somehow I get the ball out to my lineman ryan wendell and he is chased by a single enemy elf. Who bravely held him for 2 turns before help arrived and I scored. 1-1.
Tcsduo gets the ball and runs into positions to make the deep throw. Brave move. Unfortunately for him I break his line and manage to take out his guy on the ball...however he incredibly recovers and gets UP, making a very very long throw with one of his standard elves and brings it home to complete a 2 turn TD!!!! 1-2. I was amazed..he was also down on men having lost some to combat. I actually said before he got the ball that if he could score he was officially jesus xD.
Two turns left in the game...ball is kicked to me. I get some good progress beating his elves up (already like 2 injured) and get a few key 2 dice blocks to go my way. He has 3 elves guarding either flank. I take out one of the elves on the right and make a space down the touchline, slipping my catcher Brandon Lloyd through after Tom Terrific makes a trademark pro pass. He brings some elves to play ball...making dodges and escaping my block range. He has a two on one against Brandon but even with a re roll he ends up with MOVE and the one with a ! inside a jagged cloud. Anyway...Lloydy has dodge!!! So he escapes...and is left hugging the touchline but in an opponent's tackle zone. He has to make two dodges to escape...but he does and scores a dramatic 16th turn TD!!!
Game ends in a pulse pounding finish with 2-2, fan rating 17/20. Nice one dude...great game.

Nope. Imabunneh and I had scheduled a game for friday, but he said he didn't know if he could make it. He didn't show up and I've been unable to reach him ever since. I'll keep trying, but can't promise anything.

Hey just found out about this. I played some of Nok's older tournaments on TL and they were a lot of fun.
I'm too busy at the moment to play another league, but I'll keep my eye on this and possibly join in the future

just finished my game vs ain. had rain the whole match. very tense first half witch ended 0-0, after that my ghouls managed to not pick up the ball on a 4+(each with rr) three turns i a row. and you cant do that vs elves :D
it endet 2-0 for him. gg

Good game mate. Yeah the rain screwed with both of us. It's surprising how a -1 modifier on picking up the ball changes the game. At first we both played very cautiously so the ball wouldnt get knocked loose again. Then after I was up 1-0 you had to run the ball down the field as fast as possible and so we ended up charging the ball in reckless abandon. It was definitely the failed pickup rolls that allowed my guys to swarm your back field and eventually get the ball from you.

at least i got two skills out if it. so my team is looking good for the playoffs. maybe we will meet again :D

I decided to try out a Nurgle team and ran into tcsduo playing a fresh Norse team on my 2nd game in Naggaroth Open. One of the bloodiest games I've played so far. 2 deaths on both sides (another one for him but it got apothecaried) plus injuries. The first half was really close and I barely stopped him from scoring a TD. In the second half I got very lucky with the injury rolls and just grinded down his team slowly, winning by 1-0. It was a fun game though and could have gone otherwise.
As always I got ridiculously lucky with my level rolls after the game. Two of my Nurgle Warriors rolled doubles, my pestigor got +AG and my Beast got a normal.

Stupidest game ever. With one of my guys dying on Turn 1, that pretty much set the scene. Last 4 turns or so I only had 4 guys I could use each turn >.>
EDIT: I should add it was a fun game though So much fail on both sides. I also finally got a Knocked Out on the Bloodthirster with a 2 red dice (opponent chooses) roll right at the end. My aim was to kill him

That game was hilarious. We both had epic fail rolls throughout the entire game. Like when my Bloodthirster took a 3 dice attack and knocked himself down! Loads of 2+ roll fails and just general unluckiness.
Apparently BUNNEH has already killed 2 players? Well I got vengeance for you guys today cos I killed one of his xD

well, round 4 has to end tomorrow. if no games are played till then diminisher and sc4k will get 2-0 defwins, and the last games will be tied (nobody even contacted me about a missing opponent). sad to see that some people already have lost interest.

well, sadly not much i can do if people dont contact their opponents (or respond)
for next season i will start rounds on tuesday or friday. most people schedule on the weekend, and that way there are some reserve days if the is any problem.
and will strongly advice everybody to pn their opponent first day of every round

ok vampire team with a 5 agil guy withc dodge and block ... thata a piss off .. no injury either with 3 foul and 5 block on him .... stilll managed to tied it 1-1 .... he scored on 4 consecuitve roll of 6 ( no joke ) i was kinda pissed at that game lol even if i tied ,casue humans can score in 2 turn lol

Next league, we should see how many teams we have, then just make everyone play against everyone at least once. Only 5 games before playoffs doesn't give that much time for a team to establish itself.

i would like that very much, or at least larger groups
but the problem i see is how long this would take to play out. if we have 12 teams, this will take 11 weeks. some people seem to already loose interest in the 5 weeks this season is going on. more games per week is no option either
we will see how many people apply for season two.

Next season maybe we could draft teams? Or maybe even randomise a team for every player? Might make it extra interesting.

Kind of against that. Theres a few teams I would really not want to end up playing. I think if we make sure everyone from the last cup picks a different team there should be enough variety. The league already ended up quite diverse by itself.

I dont think random will work out very well, some people just dont like certain types of teams.
But the idea that everybody picks at different team in season II is nice. Also very experienced players should not take their favourite team. Im really glad i tried out necromantic for first season. Have not plaed them before and i enjoy them very much. There are enough good teams, if there are already two teams of the same race, pick another^^.
And if we end up with 8 dwarf (just an example) teams i will put them all in a group together so they can have fun with each other^^ (that would actually be awesome :D )
Also we havent seen a lot of good teams in this league so far, (undead, high- and darkelves, chaos, lizardmen, chaosdwarfs, khemri.........so many teams

I've lost every game with my Nurgle, and I'm really not enjoying them. I'd rather play something I can enjoy more, and not worry about trying too much to win. A lot of the teams just don't interest me that much

It was a great game the first half the norse received the ball, but the elves held strong. The norse could not find the endzone in the first half. The second half started with the elf catcher getting deep into norse territory followed by a big pass play. The elves now up 1-0 needed to hold against the norse. After 6 turns of the norse grinding slowly they managed to open a hole, and ran in for magnificent touchdown to tie the game 1-1 on turn 16. Both teams shook hands after the game as the elves walked off the field now knowing the playoffs are no longer a possibility. Good Game Koi.

about dwarves: i think a good coach has a very hard time loosing with them since they are so good defensively. but on the other hand its hard to score with them against a a good opponent if you dont have numerical advantage. so they produce a lot of close games, and also a lot of draws

I myself had a few rule malfunctions. IE, I didn't know that you could only 'pass' once, and picking up a gobo and chucking it counts as passing... who knew?
That, a frankly BS reception into double coverage, and my troll up and deciding not to throw my ball-carrying gobo into the endzone unfortunately ended it. Was a last ditch effort, on the 16th round to score a point anyways though.

i didnt play my best.
i had some bad dice (two double ones on gfi with my ballcarrier for example),
i missclicked (move instead of blitz and skipped a turn)
so i pretty much played vs myself and nuffle this game.
the elfs kinda did their own thing :D so it was pretty onesided.
i have these games from time to tine (i guess everybody has)
on some level it was quite funny i guess

Yep, it was quite a crazy game. I was able to capitalise on a lot of stupid stuff, but stuff stopped working for me in the second half.
Bullshit play of the day:
Used a Blitzer to dodge out of a tackle zone, picked up the ball in two tackle zones, made a negative 2d blitz against one of the players pushing him out of the way, did another dodge and GFI for the touchdown.
