Delayed again to 10th December
|
I'm going back to sleep. This is the worst week ever so far.

This raises a lot of questions in my mind about how messy the game's development was, especially for consoles. Three delays is not normal or a sign of smooth development. It's real frustrating to be this close and reneging on another promise, especially when they were pushing out the marketing hard for Nov 19. Apparently this move blindsided the devs and the marketing team, who also learned about the delay via Twitter and later a staff email. Also a very bizarre move to delay for only three weeks to correct some critical problems, which doesn't sound like much time despite what they say. By now I wouldn't be surprised if we go into late November and they announce another delay to 2021 because of more problems.
A lot of the goodwill and trust built up from TW3 got burned up from this game's release schedule in my mind. I understand there was the pandemic affecting things drastically, but I don't think I can't trust CDPR anymore with the amount of promises they broke for this game.
"We're no longer amateurs so Cyberpunk's development will be smoother than TW3!" "Only a natural disaster can stop this Nov 19 date!" "Releasing April September November December!" "We promise no crunch on our team!"
Seriously, this game better be a real masterpiece and envelope pusher to the industry with the expectations they're setting. I wonder if CDPR bit off more than they could chew developing for nine platforms on top of treading into very uncharted territory gameplay-wise.

Oh just fuck you CDPR, this would've been a nice birthday gift for me in Nov. but here you are, ruining it for me. I have an idea. Why don't you just push this back to Dec. 2021 and actually give yourselves the time to fix this mess once and for all instead of delaying it every time the release date draws near. At this point I just feel like a sucker, a mule who has a carrot dangling before his eyes but never actually getting to taste it.

Yeah that's what I thought as well. The marketing has been through the roof, and it all had the November release date on it. The decision to delay the game AGAIN must've been brutal. Which probably means there is something seriously wrong with the game in its current state, 'gold master' my ass. They wouldn't take this decision for a simple FPS fix with a day 0 patch.

My county just imposed more restrictions, so I'm laid off until further notice. It doesn't bother me as much and I'll just wait to get it. There are other games coming out to tide me over until it releases.

Not gonna change my vacation, which means I don't have any left vacation and for sure I'm not playing this during x-mass. So CD projekt not gonna get my money. Also the hype got away from me. I personally get why, I agree with them and I approve. But I as their costumer am pretty pissed. I just get a backinjury, I got bad tasks at job. I am cranky, my back hurts like it's trying to kill me and now this. I WANT TO SCREAM!#$@!$!$!

Really wondering if this will actually release in 2020.
|
It's offputting for sure. But it isn't going to matter in the end.
|
its ok - if the game gets better this way i am not concerned
|
As someone who basically doesn't buy games at launch, i don't really care about launch dates at all. They release it, 3 years later i can afford a PC to run it and the game is at 1/4th the price.
|
Well..
Meh. Sucks. Makes me a bit concerned whether or not the game will live up to my expectations, but in the end.. We'll see. If you took off of work for the release, that's entirely on you.
Don't get me wrong. I'm disappointed, but it's not like 2020 was smooth sailing for any company, so why would CDPR the exception? It sucks, but in the end, if i get a better game for it, i mean.. Fine, i guess.
The only thing that actually miffs me is that my Kraton EXB arrives on the 11th of December, so two of my hobbies are kinda clashing because of that now. I'll survive though, i'm pretty sure everyone else will too.
I'll get the pitchfork out if CP2077 turns out to be arse, wasting all the credit and goodwill they had with the gaming communities. Until then, big sad but world's still spinning.

Yeah I thought the 19th was going to be perfect, but December 10th isn't bad. Hopefully no further delays.
|
Still haven't pre-ordered so I don't mind the delay at all. The only thing it does for me is, it's making me suspicious if the game is even up to par. Will be waiting for critics and reviews and stuff and if it's all good, will buy it so I can play around x-mas. Nothing else to do cause this stupid virus will make the holidays boring af anyway

There's speculation that the delay has to do with the Stadia port. It was announced fairly recently that the game would launch on Stadia together with the other platforms, perhaps that was too optimistic and they have some more work to get it ready. Or perhaps it's a completely different reason

Or perhaps it's a completely different reason I don't know, Having already had so many delays and being 3 weeks away from launch I would tell stadia to screw it and keep the release date so I suspect there are deeper issues.
But hey, maybe their contract with stadia doesn't let them do that.

Stadia was my initial suspect as well. But Like Gorsameth said, this close to launch? It has to be something that just broke the game. Also hearing that the older consoles aren't performing up to par so they're redoing some things to get them to all run relatively evenly. Bottlenecking I think. Which if that's the case...

That's one hell of a delay, after all that marketing. The decision has been made after calculating that it is better throw away that many sales from poor alignment of marketing and suffer the lost of repuation from yet another delay than to release the game at its set date.
Perhaps something is well and truly broken that can't be fixed easily, or they knew about it but thought they could fix it in time. Something big and complicated that can't possible be hidden on launch day. Perhaps QA wrote that main quest can't trigger itself to be finished and they can't sort out why. And ythey know that some people will play the game for 48 hours straight and find that out and make a big fuss over the gaming media before you can possibly patch it.
