Can't you chat with your friends? The game chat option is off by default. You have to turn off parental settings on ds, then go into PSS settings and turn the game chat on.

Yeah, I did that. But apparently nobody else did, because I still can't chat with anyone x__x

An easy rule for the whole trading thing is always press yes, I realized that early.

When the first person initiates hte trade, if they put on game chat then you press yes.

if they don't put on game chat, then you still press yes.

If you ever press no, the trade will not go through because you disagreed on the game chat settings

hope that helps

Ok so here's what I'm thinking for a team.
Scolipede
Chansey(eviolite)
Lucario(Mega)
Aegislash
Espeon
Tyranitar OR Gyrados

Any thoughts on if it could work? Lucario would be the phys sweeper to hopefully crush people. Scolipede to set up stuff and baton pass his speed. Chansey for the heals. Aegislash to tank and dish out some dmg. Espeon because of Magic Bounce. Tyranitar or Gyrados can't decide, but both would maybe trick opponents into thinking they're they ones holding the megastone. Plus they don't care about fire, unlike most of my steel team.

do you want to run full baton or just single passes?
because with single passes you need bulky receivers that cover each other's weaknesses so you can always pass
for example, with dragonite + lucario or gyarados + lucario you can generally always pass to one of them, tank a hit, and start sweeping
with full baton you need a very specific team comp

Ok so Gyarados and Lucario would probably be my pick. I like Gyarados as a pokemon and I have been in love with Lucario since I got him during my playthrough. Such a cool Mega Evolution too. So in this instance I still have Scolipede as my baton passer but I pass to either Gyrados or Lucario depending on who they send out?

yeah, because generally you'll have tank a hit on the baton before you can start sweeping

if you're going to do that you probably don't want to bother with espeon. espeon is generally run on full baton teams; without a lot of boosts espeon's not that good

other than scolipede/gyarados/scolipede you need 3 support/utility pokemon. ideally you want them to cover your bases defensively and lure out and wear down physically defensive walls like skarmory, slowbro, gliscor, etc. one of them should also be able to set out stealth rocks to make your sweep easier

I've played every gen, and literally only Shiny I've ever seen is the Red Gyarados.

Well. you guys should try out chain fishing then! I was skeptical, cuz I've had horrible Shiny luck in the last 3 generations worth of Pokemon games, but it totally worked

Ok scolipede/gyrados/lucario. How about Gigalith or Crustle as a stealth rock user? I prob want someone with aromatherapy or heal bell. So Chansey/Blissey/Someone else?? Then do I need a spinner of my own? If I run chansey/blissey I prob want a spinner right?

Scolipede can be played as a support, since it has handy 4x resistance to fighting and grass. It also can learn infestation, a 100% accurate trapping move. Since the recent buffs to trapping moves, they do 1/8 total health every turn. With protect and substitute, scolipede can easily trap and deal at least 1/2 of their health and damage while having the option to baton pass it's speed boosts to something that needs it.
one thing that sc2 has over bw is the fact that I can actually manage my hotkeys
