Oh and I also got kaiko, should I use her instead of yukiko? here's the deck http://www.mmdoc.net/show_deck/10563/** aaand same thing again, brought him down to 2, couldn't finish him off.
ah i think that deck is hard to play w/o any pao's, in fact it looks really rare intensive (i think all the stalls except for Kat OTK are)
also it looks like cassandra rush made t3 :D

Everyone save your gold/seals
Altar of wishes (the new single card exchange system) requires you to have "wildcards", and you get them mainly by buying packs with gold/seals (random chance of wildcard buying w/ gold, guaranteed with seals)
Basic exchange rate is will be:
Base set: common=1 wildcard, uncommon=3, rare=5, epic=8 1st expansion: common=2, uncommon=6, rare=10, and epic=16 new expansion: common=3, uncommon=9, rare=15, and epic=24
more information is in this short video, just released (look above):

So, basically to optimize our odds we have to only buy boxes with seals. And we need roughly 2 boxes to get an epic of our choise, it's gonna be a long way. But still, it's nice to be able to obtain the cards you want.

Well they have to earn money somehow. When compared to the rewards of Hearthstone, it's Christmas everyday.
|
Yeah, not gonna complain. In HS to even play in arena you need to throw them money, it's disgusting honestly. And no I'm not a "jew", I spent like 90$ already on DoC. Same reason I've spent countless $ on dota2 but wouldn't pay a dime on lol.
Back on topic, it's just really important to have your eyes set on one or two decks I guess. And I think it's better to target decks with as different playstyle as possible, to keep if all fresh.

Do Sanctuary have any control decks that are considered really strong? In the one tier list someone posted all of them were either rush, or lock which isn't my preference. Was wondering if maybe the french community had something?

I just had a game where the guy ragequit after suiciding his maniac into my 2 adjacent sentinel. This game is fun :D

Yukiko Lock is considered control but right now the metagame is clearly in oriented Control-Combo or Rush. Because these works very well. That being said, Sanctuary does have some very good lane control potential which works well against Rush but will fall to most Control-Combo. Unless you have mass dispells.
Right now I'm looking to expand my decks towards a Dhamiria midrange aggro but I lack cards ^^

Nevermind, you get wildcards from swiss tournaments... YESS.! This means I can continue just playing swiss tournaments to expand my collection, time to collect tickets. Now only if they fix swiss tournaments...
Steveling, you can actually play Arena without spending money, it's 150 gold or 1.99$, And yes, it is possible to loop arena events without spending real $.

i believe that is not sustainable unless matchmaking breaks down (it's possible, but changes are low)

What's not sustainable? The MMDOC tickets or the arena?

arena, theoretically the average record is 3-3
so if they apply an arena MMR, even if you're in the 99th percentile of players, you hit other 99%tilers and would still average 3-3

If they apply an arena MMR, Idk if that's going to happen. You can also grind quests/MM to get gold for arena, I don't think Heartstone is anywhere near as money hungry as MMDOC , but I guess to each their own :0 Your right that some kind of MMR would make the outputs extremely uninviting though.
|
hehe yeah the "who's more money hungry" question is hard to answer, but i think we could have a perfect situation where:
we play DoC for constructed, yeah there's a grind, but i think the mechanics are simply the best i've seen for a CCG. the fact that RNG exists at all on cards for HS really puts me off (arcane missile is probably exhibit A).
--AND--
we play HS for limited, because it has the best draft system i've seen, LOADs better than MTG personally because my memory is terrible and i think counter-drafting is just mean :D
also looking at the spoilers for next expo made me realize how absolutely gorgeous the artwork is for DoC

There's something I don't get. Some epics can be in numbers in a deck and some can't? Or what's going on, I'm confused. lol

Unique cards can only be in the deck 1x times.
Other epics can be in multiple times.
So you can have 1x Forbidden Flame, but 4x DA, Banshee, etc.
|
Oh right, I hadn't noticed that not all epics are unique as well.

As a noob to this kind of card games I have a question: from the experience of those who played it for a long time, how long do you have to grind to get a set that can be considered somewhat decent?

Not long for 1001+ ELO inferno rush deck, possible in a week or two.
And I hear Nergal is cheap too.
