I'm allied with Hungary and Austria and I don't think the three of us can take on the Polish Army with our combined forces. | ||

in related issues in my genoa game i am considering attacking france/moskovy to capture provence and greatly improve my trade income, can 90k france and 40k muskovy +papal states hungary and another minor state be beaten by 50k spain 70k austria 70k poland and 20k me(with mediocre military tech/ideas), we field slightly more troops, but the fact that france troops are concentrated in 1 country and muskovy is an attrition bitch to siege worries me(also austria's manpower situation is somewhat worse then the other powers), but i am also somewhat worried that if moskovy gets its real might online(their FL are like 70) france will either get in a war with spain and austria and as my alliance is much stronger than that of spain and austria, we would likely get mauled. | ||

 ![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/OEoTgf0.png) Had major war of France + burg + venice + hansa + england vs me + castille + austria + brandenburg + ottomans, my side won, castille retook its iberian stuff, i took 1 province from france 1 from venice, ottomans took 3 provinces in balkans from venice, brandenburg took 2 provinces from hansa, and austria made burgundy release some HRE minors. During that war, PLC + Moscow warred GH + Ottomans and forced GH to release Crimea. | ||

Honestly the more asians the better, makes it so Ottomans and Russia don't just get free expansion east forever. Obv sucks if you are playing one from 1444 though. | ||

The numbers check out. The biggest issue it seems would be that France can beat Spain pretty easily and then get them to peace out, since everyone else is on the east side and would have to go through the doomstacks to help out, assuming they wouldn't just go to town on Hungary/Italy, or Muscovy in Poland's case. If you can keep Spain in, you should come out fine. | ||

One only owns vanilla, one all DLC, two all DLCs except AoW. Now last time I hosted (with all DLCs) and we could use AoW contents even the others, but the problem is, after saving after the 1st session and reloading it showed as starting year -5000 for the others (for me it looked fine) and it said it's a corrupt save file. At the end of the 1st session all players saved, but none of them could host it (corrupted file blah blah) Is there any know issue with it or whats the best way for playing MP? | ||

Well I've never been this confused after 10h of playing a game, usually I've either given up on the game or figured it out. This one is weird, I kinda like it but I have no idea what I'm doing. Can anyone point me somewhere in the direction of a solid beginners guide? It feels quite overwehelming for now. | ||

So you'd have to deactivate EU4 DLC in the starting window until everybody has the same DLC. | ||

Also the wiki contains a lot of useful articles in general and starting guides for all the big (and some of the small nations), just search for the nation on the wiki. Most of the fun in this game is figuring out what works and what doesn't, and doing something cool for the first time. You don't need to understand all of the games mechanics to play it. Pick a big nation in europe and do stuff. Once things explode figure out what the problem was, EUIV is much better in this regard compared to EU3, where it was usually very non-obvious what the problem was to begin with, and many mechanics were counterintuitive. Nowadays it's usually obvious. Once you know all of the mechanics, most of the game becomes about figuring out just how ridiculous a thing you can get away with. | ||
